   The food was as always excellent and outstanding value for its fixed price lunch menu. Service was not quite as good as we have come to expect- appeared a little distant and less slick. Perhaps a new member of staff? Nevertheless, it remains one of our favourites in the NE and we will return soon.

   Its a joy to go here every single time - genuinely friendly welcome and service, but unobtrusive too, they take it at your pace. The food is beautifully judged and without being flashy its proper cooking and every detail is thought through. We're so lucky to have a place like this locally, and its tremendous value

   We were recommended by friends and it didn’t disappoint. We had a nice table by a window. Good choice on a la carte menu for different diets ( one of us is vegetarian). Lovely home made bread, good size portions beautifully presented but not over fussy. Attentive service from friendly staff.

   We had such a lovely lunch , family with one toddler , everything was just lovely Food, service , ambience. Really nice We all really loved it all Try it you won't be disappointed

   We visited again at lunchtime today and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! We both opted for a fairly light starter of hot smoked salmon with potato and avocado which both of us found totally delicious! Our choice of mains were: roasted pork filet on a bed of mustard pommes purée, together with broccoli which my husband declared was “melt in the mouth” food and I chose coley on a bed of saffron potatoes, surrounded by ratatouille and black olive vinaigrette which was superb! Our choice of desserts, for him- lemon tart with meringue and raspberry coulis and for me- chocolate and pear terrine with salted caramel, provided a wonderful end to yet another superb meal here at Bouchon. This was an early birthday celebration for me and was the perfect touch! We look forward to our next visit at this gem of a restaurant!

   Genuinely enjoy coming back to here. Great staff, brilliant food and always try for the window seats :)

    Overall a decent French dinner. Duck was delicious, but unfortunately let down by the stodgy Tart Tantin. Service was perfunctory, wine & water was topped up once in entire sitting, an expensive wine and the wine list is too. Would recommend visiting if in the area but not driving a hundred miles for.
