I am a regular to Boucherie West Village and Union Square. I love every item on the menu, especially the Steak sandwich that was removed from the menu, but I understand sometimes things change.
What I can’t tolerate is when service goes down. I invited a client of mine for a business lunch, and experience the worst service ever. This ruined meeting and lunch.
Our server (Soleev) was never present. It took him 15min to come and take the order. When the food arrived it was cold. I asked for mayonnaise that never came. I asked for water, it never came. I asked for the dessert menu, it never came. And finally o asked for the check and it never came too. I had to go to the host to get my check.
I arrived at 12 and left at 2:15 with a cold burger, and boiling anger. So sad to see the level of service going that down in one of my favorite spots in town.
It was a great experience for a nice relaxing date, brunch or dinner you can come and never be disappointed. Average cost for a couple price would be around 200-250
While we did celebrate my sister’s birthday, I’d go back for regular dining anytime!! The food was incredible!! It was fresh and cooked to perfection! The portions were perfect where you didn’t feel leaving hungry or overstuffed. We loved our server! He was attentive, funny and witty and knew exactly what to recommend! I had such a pleasant experience. I’ll be going back again very soon!
Mediocre really. I’ve had way better service elsewhere for that cost. I would go back because it wasn’t awful. Just nothing remarkable
Went for brunch. Sat outside. Great setup. Food was delicious. Good service. Very pleasant experience.
Absolutely beautiful with good indoor and outdoor options. Felt very safe. Seemed a bit understaffed and so service was a bit slow and intermittent. Fries for my daughter came out cold. She is only 4 and didn't care, but no one came to check on the food at all and each interaction (getting drinks, ordering dessert) was a bit delayed, and I consider myself a pretty relaxed diner. No hard feelings as I know it's a pandemic. If you want a 'grammable spot, any of the Boucherie locations fit the bill!
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Gramercy/Flatiron/Union Square!! I just ADORE this place! Everything is perfect: from the wonderful French brasserie decor, as if you were in Paris, to the delicious food and fabulous service!! I cannot recommend this amazing place enough!!
Michele C provided incredible service! He was engaging and helped us make great choices! The escargot is an incredible start to dinner! The wine list is perfect with incredible choices in both red and white! The ambiance is perfect and again I want to thank Michele C!
Nice brunch, attentive service.
Food and drinks are always great. Michaele the server is great. Highly recommend.
Considering post Covid a very comfortable place to hang.
Great food, but expected slightly better food for that price. Otherwise amazing service and overall atmosphere!
I was a last minute booking on a weekend evening, and they accommodated me very well. The food is delicious, well presented, and very good.
Food was good. Service was terrible. A very long wait for wine, to initially order, and then for everything else service related. This place is heading in the wrong direction. This is two poor showings in a row now in the course of a month.
Everything at boucherie was wonderful, food, drinks, service. Highly recommend! Oscar, our waiter, was the GOAT!
Overall a pleasant evening. Meals were tasty and generous portions.
Service was okay - our drinks came out after our salad. Would definitely revisit.
Good Food & Service.
Nice for a Sunday Brunch.
Good wine Selection.
Amazing food, drinks and service!
Fast, nice service and good food. Would go again.
Overall ok place if you missed dining out. But neither food nor service live up to the price they charge. They, as many recently rep-opened restaurant, jam their dining floor with customers but definitely not have enough stuff to tend the tables, ended up talking mostly with the bus boy, weigher was no where to find. It took them about an hour to bring us drinks, and when ordered sparkling water they pored a bit and took it somewhere to keep cool and lost it, had to go through hoops to get water, that's just hilarious. They hardly had any selection of teas (which are by the way $7-8, which I expected to be a nice loose leaf tea, instead a tea bag). Steak, was ok, a bit too thin for my taste.
Absolutely amazing restaurant, delicious food and attentive staff. Old Paris right within nyc!
This is always a go to restaurant for me. In the neighborhood and reliable food and service.
We were sitting in the outside structure on the street. They opened a window at our request, which is the whole point of eating outside, to prevent concentrations of viral particles from building up (I'm an infectious diseases specialist).
But they didn't turn on the heater above our table! They turned on all the other ones in that structure but ours. Maybe because we ordered the cheapest thing on the menu? We had asked for the afternoon menu, but could only order from the dinner menu, which is twice as expensive.
The moules frites were delicious! We enjoyed being able to get together (it's the last time my very dear old friend and I will see one another as my husband and I are moving to another state). I've been to Boucherie many times, and liked it, that's why I brought my foodie friend here. But the service this time was rather cool towards us. NOT cool!
The restaurant is beautiful inside. At first we were seated near the front doors. It was freezing cold every time the door opened, which was very often because Service was going in and out frequently. We eventually were moved to a small table in the back of the restaurant. When my entrée came out, the bus boy knocked over my almost full glass of red wine onto my lap. Yes accidents to happen. Everyone treated it like it was no big deal. I had red wine on my arms, my lap and my shirt. We were given two free glasses of wine and told that the restaurant would pay for my pants to be dry cleaned. These are 100% wool, they are ruined the stains will not come out.
Portions keep getting smaller and the prices keep getting higher. Very sad. Plus the very aggressive and “pushy” waitstaff didn’t help the cause either.
Great French brasserie. Comfortable and classic. Hit all the marks. Tartare, Fois gras, steak au poivre, etc. all delicious. Cannot wait for sitting inside once C passes!
One of the best places in NYC!
Nice and clean. Super helpful staff.
Great experience from the hostess to our waiter and to the delicious food! Really felt like I was in Paris! Merci!
Great food and never disappoints! We went early for brunch and the music was loud since we were sitting right under a speaker. Will definitely be back again!
Great find can’t wait to go back!
Overpriced and basic food. $50 for a steak frites. I understand it is hard for restaurants right now, but $50???!!!
Was wonderful. I had a reservation for indoors and felt safe and protected.
It's very simple. I have never been treated with such disrespect or unnecessary rudeness before.
You'd think that a year into the pandemic, the world at large would be kinder and gentler. Apparently not when it comes to Julio.
Overall good value meal for meat lovers! Good wine list and tasteful desert make for a tasty experience.
Service was very attentive and responsive, which was great, and the venue itself is beautiful and clean. Highly recommend for parties of all size!
Second week in a row dining here. My BF and I were so excited to return due to the delectable meal and perfected dirty martinis we were served the prior Saturday. Unfortunately this Friday was not quite as fantastic. We had a 9:30pm reservation and were rushed due to the kitchen closing and last call. My suggestion would be to simply not accept reservations that late. Our chicken for two was delicious, although slightly dry (still great, however, the chef the week before set the standard very high). Our dirty martinis were not great, unfortunately, they had too much vermouth. Again, we drank them, but compared to the prior visit the Saturday before, they paled in comparison. Perhaps due to this visit being a Friday, we had an alternate chef and bartender than our previous Saturday. Also, despite us being seated at 9:30, which was on time, the restaurant chose to turn the lights on high and prop open the front doors to begin clean up from outside service. It was a wind tunnel of 35 degree air and bright lights. Needless to say, we put our jackets and hats on, quickly paid our bill and left. For the price we paid, we expected the same experience we had during our first visit. We were celebrating something special during both visits and we chose to return due to such a WONDERFUL experience our first time.
I ordered the wagyu and it was not wagyu at all. The chicken was flavorless and dry and nothing ordered aside from one cocktail lived up to our expectations. Do better
Pleasant, good food. Attentive service, with a couple of minor glitches, but nothing to detact significantly from the experience.
