Went for brunch on a Sunday. Thought the space was nice and the service was very good, but the food disappointed.
Fantastic Brunch experience with a live pianist, amazing service, and outstanding food. Our server Slovodam was very helpful and attentive— thank you for an amazing experience.
Great food,awesome service, chill atmosphere...
We both had Fillet Steak - hard to beat anywhere ... one of the best I’ve had in 40 years !!
Had an amazing experience at this restaurant. Last min reservation and the food did not disappoint had the steak and the salmon. The steak was cooked to perfection and very delicious The salmon was a nice portion that was accompanied by vegetables in a delicious sauce The staff was pleasant our waiter was pleasant, attentive and had great knowledge of the menu. Received a recipe from them which was a nice treat. Can wait to try it
What a fantastic place to be. Amazing ambiance with wonderful food and service. 50% off on bottles. We will go back very soon.
Nice place, with a strong French identity, service was perfect. I strongly recommend brunch there.
Dined at LaBoucherie last night with two friends. The round table the hostess first put us at was almost
laughable, it was so small. I can understand if you are having drinks and some appetizers, this might be acceptable, but not for a three course meal. The hostess did sit us at a table for four later but wondered what it would have taken to sit in the back where there are booths and tablecloths, especially at the cost of dining there.
On the other hand, the food served to us was lovely. We had the escargot, the ribeye, and profiteroles. I will come again, but will certainly request different seating. The wait staff was ok. My perception was he was not terribly interested in making us feel we had made a good choice in coming. Perhaps he had a long day. For a check of over $400 I expected more but will try again. A plus is the ambiance. It looked especially nice being so well decorated for Christmas.
While there were a few hiccups (our wine bottle was corked - but replaced immediately, and one dinner order was incorrect), the staff was so quick and gracious in correcting the errors that it made up for the mix ups. The food was quite good - especially the bacon appetizer and the boef bourguignon. Desserts were also excellent. The holiday decorations added to the wonderful atmosphere and the high ceilings kept the noise level really low so we could enjoy conversation at a normal level. I would definitely go back!
New Years at Boucherie was magical! The staff was impossibly friendly, making our dinner experience fantastic.
And the food... oh my goodness! We cannot wait to visit this amazing place again.
We had a wonderful New Year's Eve dinner at Boucherie. The food was exquisite. We had foie gras as an appetizer. Soooo good! Followed by beef bourguignon with mushrooms, carrots and potatoes. The beef was very very tender. It melted in our mouths. And the sauce...oh myyy! Delicious! We were sooo full. But we did manage to savor a fantastic tarte tatin. Luckily it was quite small. What an evening! The service was good and the atmosphere quite lovely. Would definitely recommend this restaurant...especially for a romantic dinner.
Table for 6 on New year eve. The best: decor was festive, nice crowd and ambiance. Barman was correct and waitress was helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. The main issue is that the tables are small, fit for bistro and not for these party occasion. We ordered the butcher block and took almost a third of the space, we really had to be in a good mood to let it slide. The food itself was correct but not jaw dropping. Personally I think the grill octopus had the vegetables to acid, and the duck leg was kind of bland. The rest of the party enjoyed the grilled meats which consisted of an excellent filet mignon, a good skirt steak and a mediocre new york strip steak. The expensive price was justified for end of year party, but I am not sure for a regular night out (about $150 pp) of course including a bottle of champagne, few cocktails and wine, no deserts. We had a great time though !
Amazing food, excellent service, and a romantic/glamorous atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
We came into the city for a quick one night stay after visiting some family in CT. We needed the energy of the city and landed here. After two bottles of wine, delicious food, and a wonderful pianist I’d have to say this is one of the best overall meals we’ve had in the city. It wasn’t too busy so we had excellent service. My absolute favorite was when we ordered or asked for something, the response wasn’t “yeah”, it was “right away”. We will recommend to all our friends and visit each time we’re in town.
We had an amazing time for brunch.Delicious food, perfect for brunch and dinner. Service was also great and very attentive.
This restaurant never disappoints, from its excellent food to its pleasant staff, this is our fave.
Great dining experience decor and ambiance very nice enjoyed an amazing romantic dinner with my wife. The waiter was very attentive and the food was phenomenal. We had the steak and duck confit. Highly recommended this restaurant.
We had lunch here on the recommendation of a friend, although I noted it had popped up when doing some prior research on OT and other platforms. The restaurant was beautifully and tastefully decorated for the festive season in green, red and gold and looked very inviting and welcoming. The staff was excellent and our main man, from Serbia, was very friendly, attentive and was really great to talk with.
We both chose the French onion soup to start with which was magnificent. It came in a ceramic pot topped, of course with bread and cheese which had melted beautifully and formed a cap, running down the side of the pot, with the hot soup inside. It was divine!
My husband had the salade Nicoise for the main which was a large plate full of rocket with all the elements you would expect - olives, tomatoes, beans, boiled egg and 3-4 healthy pieces of seared tuna on top. It looked fabulous.
I had the steak frites with peppercorn sauce which totally hit the spot. Medium-rare was just right and the steak was full of flavour and the sauce quite light and peppery but with a hint of citrus that gave it a bit if zing.
I would definitely come here again and recommend it to anyone who fancies a bit of Gallic fayre.
Food and service were excellent. I had the Bouillabaisse and my wife had the FIlet. Both were great. The onion soup was also superb. Only complaint is our table was a bit small/cramped. I felt like I was sitting with the table next to me. Overall, it was great and I will definitely be back to try more.
Great location and holiday decorations. Excellent food choices and execution. Steak done to perfection and branzino was tender and a generous portion. Creme brule was a great ending. However our waiter did not tell us that some dishes were not available and when he did inform us, he said we had to order right away because the kitchen was closing. It was 9:30 pm! He never asked us anything about our meals nor paid any attention to us. Luckily the rest of the team almost made up for him. But he basically wrecked an otherwise nice Christmas dinner.
Went for Christmas dinner with two children. There was no childrens menu nor any flexibility. The dishes are small, prices are quite high. Service was ok. When we were leaving the waiter stopped me to tell me they have a tipping “advice” which is sort of mandatory... my tip was to small in his opinion. I gave him a larger tipp against my will just not to make a scene. But I was shocked by this approach. We’re not coming back. Food is nice, service not.
Xmas Day Linch for 4. Perfect in every way . Just amazing food and advice and ambiance . Thanks to our amazing waitresses and maitre . Loved every moment x Hope to see you all again one day X
Boucherie was very welcoming, we had a reservation and were seated immediately. The Christmas tree was so tall and beautiful. Our server was a lovely woman who paid attention (despite how busy they were) to my refilling my wine glass. We had appetizers and dinner all of which were warm and delightful. I can't wait to go again.
Food ok, service was great.
Normally the food and experience is great, on Christmas Eve with my family it was by far the worst dining experience between the stale bread, unseasoned food, getting the wrong courses and when asking for salt and pepper it was the Basic salt and pepper you would get at a dinner not fresh at all. After that, I will never go back to Boucherie.
Its like being in France. Food ambiance service all wonderful. Not cheap but definitely worth a "splurge". Would recommend and will definitely be back.
Was anticipating a fun evening at a lively NYC restaurant on Christmas Eve. Upon arrival the receptionist doesn't look up to greet me and apparently has more important things to focus on. Finally..oh people standing in front of me. Bad start. We're led to a tiny cafe table with coats in hand. The coats are heavy and the chair keeps tipping over under the weight. Later I notice other parties being welcomed (by other staff) and coats taken to be hung. Hmm. Our waitress comes and explains menu barely audible with slight accent..huh? Oh well..order from menu. Our table is rocking and I'm trying to find a way to steady it. Another waitress sees me and comes to the rescue. She's so nice & personable..please be our waitress. No such luck. Our waitress exhibits no warmth or feeling of hospitality overall. When we fail to order dessert she actually makes a face..like really..what a couple of dead beats. Our food was fine but the experience was entirely without joy. My anticipation of this place was a let down which made me realize good food is important but without genuine hospitality I feel I'll go elsewhere next time. Side note..next year get a smaller tree. It overwhelmed the dining room and we had to squeeze by the servers station to get into the dining room.
The food was amazing. Very tasty. Just a little bit pricy
Food was good, but service was terrible (from the hostess to the 2 servers that took care of us). I was expecting a little more. Disappointing
We went with out of town friends. It was their anniversary (I put that information in the reservation notes) and we got two free dessert - chocolate mousse and creme brulee. Definitely gave them the romantic wow factor we were hoping for
Go to French steak house!
First of all, we had a reservation, came on time and most tables were still empty but they put us near the door and cold air was getting through so we were cold the whole time.
waitress kept forgetting things in the order; and we were only 3 people so we didn’t order that many items! if waitress knew she can’t remember everything write it down!
We asked for mustard and never got it. We had to ask for drinks twice.
Over all, it is over priced for the taste and flavor.
Burger meat was bland.
Steak was just average
Soup was cold
This place is over rated and doesn’t deserve the high reviews online. The only nice thing about it was the environment.
Some people might like it but I know there are way better places in New York City and I know I’m not going back there.
Steak was over cooked and staff never asked if it was cooked to your liking. Sat us next to a Christmas tree which was nice other than the staff had 10 inches to squeeze between me and the tree which was very annoying.
Off the bat, I like Boucherie - West Village more, so if friends ask I would recommend that place vs. Union Square. The food was excellent, the staff was cool, but the ambiance was not great. Given the amount of space, it felt extremely crammed. The staff couldn’t even serve without bothering the guests. It was extremely annoying to have to shift your chair about 5 times during dinner to make room for staff serving other tables.
The rude waitress hurried us and eventually chased us away from our high top in the bar area. We ate at the bar, which is completely overcrowded.....last time here. Rude servers
Very good all around
I was sick all night from the food.... they didn’t even realize we were there.. we check in they sat us and then proceeded to call us asking where we were meanwhile we were seated at our table... was like they wanted us out quickly and it was our anniversary dinner disappointing
Food and service was very good . It was loud so hard to have a conversation.
Popped in for a steak and a good bottle of red wine. Meal exceeded all expectations. The porterhouse was one of the best pieces of meat I’ve had in America in years. The Brunello was in fine condition and overall made for a delicious, if somewhat expensive, meal.
Salads poorly done
Main course and desserts were awesome
