This is a wonderful neighborhood Restaurant with great atmosphere and great food. We were a table of 6 and were extremely disappointed with the service and attendant who was assigned to our table. Dinner took over an hour to get served and it seemed impossible to place drink orders. Server didn't know of have knowledge of classic french cocktails which was unacceptable for a Restaurant like this....
this place is absolutely INCREDIBLE if you are on the fence... GO!! you will not regret it.
I guess there were not enough staff.
Took quite long to get our food.
Food was great. Especially the mussels and frites
Felt a bit rushed even though there were a lot of empty tables. Waitress was very nice, however. Would return but definitely will be cognizant of time next time.
Great service and outdoor set up. Nice food as well.
I think it's a big mistake for a restaurant like this to skimp, given the outrageous prices. The Chèvre Chaud was a mound of mixed greens with two very tiny overly toasted pieces of bread with two very tiny (size of a quarter and 1/8" thick) pieces of cheese. The Coq au Vin was ridiculously skimpy...two tiny tiny pieces of bone in chicken (size of a golf ball at best) with a couple of pearl onions in red wine sauce. The Cod (32$?)...Really? 6 ounces of overly sauced couldn't taste the fish and a very tiny portion of crabmeat crushed on top. No garnishes, no sides included. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will not return. Charge these high prices and portion your food accordingly or you will not last. One walks out feeling ripped off.
Love the outdoor seating, the service and food. The profiteroles are SO good
A wonderful night out celebrating a very special birthday. Excellent food. Great wine. Sublime dessert. I enjoyed the experience immensely. The massive mirror in the dining hall made eating a truly voyeuristic delicacy to also savor. I always go to a French restaurant for special occasions. Boucherie did not disappoint. What I ate: Smoked Octopus, Coq au Vin. Chocolate Mousse. What I drank: Rose Champagne. Red Burgundy. Absinthe. It was all about 45 for 66 in a heartbeat. Still blushing. Who wouldn't be? Still hungry for more? Will never get enough. Book your special evening too. Again and again and again. ENJOY!
We will not return, as we did not receive our meals, we were given incorrect drinks, and we we charged for another table’s order
The food was superb. I had Salade Lyonaise, my favorite on the planet, followed by Bifstek Frites with bordelais and peppercorn sauces. Everything including the bread was wonderful. It was less than half the price of Daniel and River Cafe we dined at this week. Highly recommend!
A great brasserie with several downtown locations - Really liked the steak frites, even better than Wagyu. The salad with goat cheese could have had more goat cheese. All in all a good place to go since traveling to Paris is a nonstarter now. Love how they have alot of outdoor seating!
Food was below average. I’ve been to other locations and had a very good meal but I’ve now rethought ever going back to any Boucherie. Steak was thin and mostly fat. Pasta was floating in sauce. Thank god for the alcohol but getting staff attention was difficult and we were sitting at a high top across from the bar. Disappointed
Makes me feel like I am in Paris.
Lovely experience. Food was delightful, service excellent.
Service was spectacular. The staff was friendly, courteous and attentive. Food was delicious, well made and the presentation was amazing.
The glass of wine fell and spilled on the table waitress saw it and left never came back to wipe it out she acted like she didn’t saw it .
Terrible service. Dinners came 15 minutes apart. Order was mistaken. Over priced.
We ordered the tomahawk chop at a medium to medium well and the meat was delivered rare. The waiter did come around a couple of minutes in and asked us if it was to our liking however one would assume that he would have noticed that it was so rare it was a little bloody when it came to the table and would have taken back to kitchen before reaching the table. That is the attention to service that well run establishments should have. My guest and I could not even cut through the slices of meat with our steak knives because of the vein that was uncooked in the meat. Additionally the food was cold. We decided to give up. We Didn’t want our steak to go back and forth to the kitchen with multiple people handling especially now in the time of covid ... so had it wrapped up to go. A little pricey at $165 to not have it cooked as we requested.
great! but the steak frit pics online were waaaaay diff than what i got to eat
The server was so nice and helpful, and the food was delicious. It was my friend's birthday, and since we didn't get dessert, they gave her a beautiful book with history of the architecture, and recipes.
It was a group birthday.
In terms of food & ambience ! And special attention to the occasion.
Appetisers arrived before drinks.
And service was a little erratic. But could he due to Covid trading
A wonderful experience from start to finish. Oscar was our server, he was knowledgeable and helped guide us to great drinks, wine and a perfect meal for us to share. Thank you to the back of the house for such a wonderful meal!
An absolutely delightful experience at Boucherie. Frisée lyonnaise salad was perfect with egg still warm for breaking on to the greens. We each had a different beef selection. Each one was cooked to our requested temp and delicious. The assortment of desserts were all tempting but we chose the creme brûlée. It was a generous serving with luscious raspberries and strawberries.
The servers were prompt, polite and available.
I’m looking forward to my next visit and waiting to try another selection.
The food is ok but below average as far as what you're getting for the price. The worst is the service. Our waiter never checked to see how we were doing and didn't even think to apologize when he forgot to order part of our food. I can't recommend this place.
At first when I checked in there was no record of my reservation & it was suggested that perhaps I had booked at another location. However when I shared my Open Table confirmation they found available outdoor seating which was lovely. Service was a bit slow but during these times we realize that everyone is experiencing challenges. Food was good.
Everything was exceptional. My guest and I were treated to great food and great service.
This was my first time eating here - The service as well as the food was incredible - I will definitely be back!
Food was really good but had to order everything at the same time- wanted to order appetizers first then our entrees but our waiter wouldn’t let us - pretty annoying and he took forever to take our order - so overall we had a good experience because the space and vibe are great but our waiter was bad - he had a really bad attitude but luckily the atmosphere saved him
I am a regular to Boucherie West Village and Union Square. I love every item on the menu, especially the Steak sandwich that was removed from the menu, but I understand sometimes things change.
What I can’t tolerate is when service goes down. I invited a client of mine for a business lunch, and experience the worst service ever. This ruined meeting and lunch.
Our server (Soleev) was never present. It took him 15min to come and take the order. When the food arrived it was cold. I asked for mayonnaise that never came. I asked for water, it never came. I asked for the dessert menu, it never came. And finally o asked for the check and it never came too. I had to go to the host to get my check.
I arrived at 12 and left at 2:15 with a cold burger, and boiling anger. So sad to see the level of service going that down in one of my favorite spots in town.
It was a great experience for a nice relaxing date, brunch or dinner you can come and never be disappointed. Average cost for a couple price would be around 200-250
While we did celebrate my sister’s birthday, I’d go back for regular dining anytime!! The food was incredible!! It was fresh and cooked to perfection! The portions were perfect where you didn’t feel leaving hungry or overstuffed. We loved our server! He was attentive, funny and witty and knew exactly what to recommend! I had such a pleasant experience. I’ll be going back again very soon!
Mediocre really. I’ve had way better service elsewhere for that cost. I would go back because it wasn’t awful. Just nothing remarkable
Went for brunch. Sat outside. Great setup. Food was delicious. Good service. Very pleasant experience.
Absolutely beautiful with good indoor and outdoor options. Felt very safe. Seemed a bit understaffed and so service was a bit slow and intermittent. Fries for my daughter came out cold. She is only 4 and didn't care, but no one came to check on the food at all and each interaction (getting drinks, ordering dessert) was a bit delayed, and I consider myself a pretty relaxed diner. No hard feelings as I know it's a pandemic. If you want a 'grammable spot, any of the Boucherie locations fit the bill!
Had dinner on Easter Sunday. It was perfect. Ate indoors. Everything was well organized for handing Covid. Service was wonderful.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Gramercy/Flatiron/Union Square!! I just ADORE this place! Everything is perfect: from the wonderful French brasserie decor, as if you were in Paris, to the delicious food and fabulous service!! I cannot recommend this amazing place enough!!
Michele C provided incredible service! He was engaging and helped us make great choices! The escargot is an incredible start to dinner! The wine list is perfect with incredible choices in both red and white! The ambiance is perfect and again I want to thank Michele C!
Nice brunch, attentive service.
