BOUCHERIE is a traditional FRENCH brasserie and steakhouse, celebrating Joie de Vivre. The restaurant prepares a menu of French classics and timeless bistro favorites, in addition to the DRY-AGED STEAKS. In addition to an extensive wine list and classic drinks, a beverage program that boasts an inspired menu of absinthe-driven signature cocktails.

Surrounded by walls of majestic wooden-framed mirrors and original Belle Époque posters, seating at our UNION SQUARE location varies among pristine white marble and wood bistro tables, cozy burgundy leather booths, a 32ft. handmade pewter bar, and an option for a 40-guest private room, to make the 222-seat restaurant feel timeless and intimate with vibrant, contemporary joi de vivre.

I understand that it is a place that specializes in meat, but there were very few options if you were not interested in red meat. Food is well prepared but it seems a bit pricey for what it is.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely dinner here. The food was excellent, and the service was what you would expect of a very upscale french restaurant/steakhouse. On a couple of occasions we were randomly barraged by the music being turned up, but for the most part the music was at a normal level. Overall, would definitely recommend for a special occasion, we had an amazing night!

Completed our reservation for Friday, Feb 14 several weeks ahead of time. Restaurant called to confirm a few days prior. Upon arrival we were seated immediately and helped with our coats. Tiniest table ever (and we have been to Paris severa times) but it worked just fine. We shared the escargot which was fabulously buttery and garlicky. Hubby had steak au poivre and I had coq au vin. Both were exquisite. The creme brûlée for dessert was so scrumptious it reminded us of France for sure. The restaurant provided diners that evening with a remembrance hard back book of Boucherie and two chocolate dipped strawberries. Highly recommend this restaurant. Great experience.

We went for Valentine's Day and had a wonderful time. Everything we ordered was cooked beautifully. The service was a bit slow, which we chalked up to the busy evening, but it wasn't terrible. The only thing I wish had been different was the truffle butter filet mignon. We both tried it and neither of us tasted any truffle, it just tasted like a steak doused in regular butter. The steak was wonderful and tender, but it didn't have any flavor, it was extremely bland. I'm sure with actual truffle it would have tasted even better.

An amazing and romantic atmosphere, good burger, GREAT fries, and delicious duck confit. We went on Valentine’s Day and they brought us chocolate covered strawberries and a cookbook to keep! So thoughtful

My boyfriend and I went for Valentine’s Day and it was amazing! The food was delicious (we got escargot, filet, duck, and a pistachio and brownie dessert) and it was a perfect romantic night out.

The food was good for Restaurant Week Brunch. We were disappointed that it was not the posted Restaurant Week Lunch menu. So instead of Steak tartare, we had to settle for a croque monsieur, which was fine for a croque monsieur as far as slices of bread with a slice of ham and swiss (maybe it was gruyere as it should be) cheese go - a grilled cheese sandwich. The eggs bendict was good . Decorations are nice if you are into the 'fake' Parisian bistro look you can find all over New York, NY. The biggest issue is that it is simply way overpriced. $21 for a croque monsieur sandwich?! 6 euros in Paris. $25 for eggs benedict. $44 for cassoulet. So if the restaurant can fill its many tables with expense account tourists, good luck, but we won't be wasting our money for standard french bistro fare at 1 Michelin star prices.

Food and service were great. Drinks are overpriced and the ones I’ve tried in the past haven’t wowed me so I usually skip those. Boucherie has the best steak au poivre! They’re served with shoestring fries now which was a much needed change. I highly recommend.

I had a hamburger. The bun was much larger than the very small burger, and the burger was dry. And, I paid $6 for tea, which was a small tea cup and a teabag....no additional hot water....very disappointing

The food was fantastic. However, it was VERY loud in there, the tables are really small and really close together and our waitress left after dessert and never came back. I had to ask the front desk for our bill after waiting 25 minutes.

This is my favorite French restaurant in NYC! Everything is always delicious! The mussels were so good I had bread for the first time in years because I couldn’t let the sauce go to waste!

My wife and I visited during NYC Restaurant Week for early dinner and it was a fantastic experience! The food came out quickly and the servers were very alert and attentive. The ambiance was nice and the early dinner crowd wasn't too large. The food was delicious and the apple tart dessert was phenomenal. The steak tartare was the best I've ever had and would highly recommend it!

Restaurant week special of mussels with Merguez sausage, strip steak, apple torte or chocolate mousse. Excellent food at great value of $42. My wife said her Old Fashioned was the best she’s had. We loved the atmosphere and waiter.

Boucherie was fab; drinks, food, fun -- all good. Only problem was the table we were seated at was wobbly at a 15 degree angle. Rather than ask us to wait at the bar while the staff could have fixed it quickly, they made us wait for the next table to open up -- 15 minutes later. Could have been handled better. Nice place, but probably won't return to this location.

Steak was tough. Salad Nicoise was mainly greens and underdone tuna. Very disappointing.
