Great service and excellent food. Also a go-to for late brunch or lunch
Convenient location and easy to access by public transportation, lovely classic building with lots great paintings, very good food and service.
We arrived and were placed at a table right by the door and server station which we asked to change. I had already let them know it was a surprise for my husband's 50th birthday and once we moved, we were able to settle in and enjoy the whole dining experience. Great food, great atmosphere and we were given a gift of a recipe book at the end of the meal which was a thoughtful touch. Having eaten at La Petit Boucherie some years ago, this was on a par with food quality and staff service.
This is a very lovely restaurant styled to look like what we imagine a Parisian bistro to be. The food was quite good, the front part of the restaurant is very noisy and we were able to get a seat towards the back where it was a bit calmer. The prices for lunch seemed reasonable, the food was good and the portions were appropriately sized (as opposed to the humongous portions some restaurants feel they have to serve). We went there during French Restaurant Week but opted for ordering off of the menu.
Solid food in great setting. Quite noisy and nothing everything expected available from menu (eg., burgers).
Slobodan is an excellent server. There was one mishap and Slobodan took immediate action to make it right. I had ordered a bottle of Chateau Montelena Chardonnay ($120). The sommelier came along and poured the remaining contents into my wife's glass and mine. Moments later, unaware that our wine bottle was finished, came and poured another person's wine (Wente Chardonnay) into my glass. Immediately, I stopped him from pouring more in my glass which alerted him not to pour wine into my wife's glass. He got the sommelier and he took the glass away and replaced it with a fresh glass and opened another bottle of Chateau Montelena Chardonnay. They handled the situation with grace and generosity. We enjoyed dining at Boucherie and we would return.
Food wasn’t the best. Server kept trying to sell us on multiple tiered dinner options like fixed price menu. Overall the food is a sleeper here and doesn’t highlight the best of French food.
El menú es limitado y los precios en mi opinión, son excesivos. Como ejemplo, una ensalada de frutas (fruta cortada), Sin mil, ni granola, solo fruta 15 usd. Se que NYC es caro pero este lugar me pareció un exceso.
yes i most certainly would. we had a lovely time and the food was delicious!
We were sorry we wasted time here. As avid French food fans, we were so excited to come here! We ordered a bottle of wine and two entrees, and our entrees (both beef) came out in less than 10 minutes and our bottle of wine didn’t make it out for another 10. The peppercorn sauce was a cold marinara, and when I asked for a different sauce it was also ice cold. We were never sure who our waiter was. But the icing on top was when right as we left, my husband went to the bathroom and there was a young couple having sex in a stall. As he left, the manager pulled him aside and asked how the evening was and my husband replied “you have bigger things to worry about, like the couple having sex in your bathroom.” The manager ran into the bathroom, ran back out, and apologized for “the nightmare of an evening for everyone.” It was a huge waste of time, don’t count on Boucherie for a decent French meal or atmosphere.
Loved the atmosphere here. The building is just gorgeous. In town for a couple of days and French Restaurant week was happening. We ordered off the menu as didn't care for choices on that limited list.
We had the pork medallions and salmon for dinner and octopus and farro salad for apps.
Bar is great to hang out. Reservations suggested.
Gabriel, the waiter, assumed I wanted my pork cooked well done. I didn't. You ask every customer "how would you like that cooked" and not make assumptions. He told customers next to us welcome and we hope you'll feel transported to Paris, but not us.
Great lunch place! Servers are just a bit slow and sometimes lost in space.
The food is terrible, the steak was hard as a rock.
Food was great as was the wine (good wine list). Service was good. I did not realize that it was an open restaurant and it was hot. A table towards the inside was acceptable in terms of comfort.
Overall, Boucherie Union Square was an excellent casual French restaurant for getting together with friends. All aspects of food and service were well above average, and everyone in my party had a good time. The prices except for wines and specialty cocktails were fair for the value; $18 for certain drinks and $22 for better wines was a bit much. Other than that it was great, and we will go back soon.
Our server, I wish I knew he name was amazing!!! Kind, articulate, knowledgeable She made everything perfect
We reserved for Sunday Brunch. We enjoyed everything we had. My husband had the Waygu Burger w/Truffle & I had the Goat Cheese Omelet. Both entrees were excellent. We were able to get here with a short walk from the HOHO Big Bus.
Lovely building but not many people there for Sunday brunch so felt a bit flat. Menu quite limited and overpriced
Food was fantastic and so was the service !
We love French cuisine, and this was some of the best we’ve had. The restaurant is absolutely adorable and the staff was super attentive and knowledgeable.
Great food with my three friends. The atmosphere is very European.
When I entered BOUCHERIE - Union Square I thought I was in Paris. The decor amazing as in Paris or the South of France. Immediately someone seated me. It was a fabulous table with a great view outdoors. My Foie Gras absolutely delicious. Perfect seasoning. I then made a great choice of Duck Confit for my main course, excellent. When I received the bill, it was very reasonable for such a fabulous lunch.
I can’t wait to return.
My server Gabriel M was so pleasant, wish more were like him.
Great food and very to service.
Great service ,steak , apps, and desserts . Sides were just ok a little overpriced for dinner
I thought the food was good along with the service. The main problem I had was the meal was way to expensive. If you want to take out a loan this is the place for you!!
Pretty good food! Amazing location near our hotel and apartment! They open till 12am, very convenience for us because of our flight arrived at 9:00pm. Most of restaurants closed by 10:00pm. But We still can have big dinner here. Perfect! We will back again. Food is my style! Forgot took photos!
We went to Boucherie to celebrate my birthday, but it was disappointing. We had chosen this place specifically because they had frogs' legs on the menu, which I love. Unfortunately, their frogs' legs weren't very good. The portion was fairly small, and I could taste almost no garlic. Who cooks frogs' legs without garlic? Also, the place is very crowded and very noisy. Too bad...
My friends and I have enjoyed fine dining at numerous restaurants in Manhattan throughout the years. They are all very good but some of them are great. Our experience at Boucherie Union Square falls into the great category. The food was delicious and the staff was wonderful. One waiter that stood out was Slobodan. He was so friendly and courteous. We will definitely be going to Boucherie again.
Another amazing date night! Will do it again for sure. Truffle Burger and Creps were incredible.
If you want to enjoy the happy hour offerings, you have to sit in the bar area. Though you can order from the regular menu while sitting there, you should take advantage of the happy hour offerings - including their house wines - which are fantastic and much more reasonably priced. We had the burger & fries which were delicious. The service was wonderful. I barely took a sip of water before the server filled it up again! I highly recommend Boucherie.
Lovey restaurant with great big bar and lots of seating configurations. Food is terrific. Interesting salads. Lots of entree choices (meat and fish). Profiteroles great to share for dessert. Banquet seats are a little low. All the hard surfaces create a very loud space.
Really good food and service. Too noisy, definitely not the place for a romantic dinner.
The Butcher Block we had was amazing. The waitress was very friendly as well! They even gave us a handwritten card and a book for our graduation celebration. Very thoughtful and sweet!
Food, wine and service consistently good. We always enjoy our evenings here. I recommend.
Great place to have dinner
The food excellent I recommend the foie gras
And there's a dicount on wines
Outstanding dinner. Highly recommended.
Had an amazing Lunch with friends! Their food is just delicious and service very welcoming! Had their steak tartare for app, brie cheese and fries! For main I opted for Truffle Wagyu Burger! My friends enjoyed their mushroom ravioli and croque monsieur! Great surprise at the end and will lovely come back!
Had a great business meeting. Food and service was quick! If you have any business meeting going on I definitely recommend this place.
Everything about this restaurant is fine - good food, nice place, decent service - but the food is so overpriced that it isn't worth it for a restaurant that isn't exceptional. When a cocktail costs $18 and an entree costs $40, you expect a fine dining experience and this isn't it.
