Boucherie - West Village
What Insiders Are Saying
Boucherie is a very big French restaurant in the middle of the West Village where you can sit outside and eat a steak or some escargots.
Only complain will be the lack of air conditioner during plain summer in New York. But he food and service were very good. I’ll be back in the fall and winter, no more during the summer.
Food and service was excellent.
Extremely expensive, food just ok and not commensurate to the price
One word...outstanding. Staff were very helpful & polite. The food was on point. The decor was lovely. My daughter and myself will definately come again.
Nice staff but avocado toast bad. Avocado was watery jelly. And I ordered a Bloody Mary that tasted like olive juice.
Eggs and croissants delicious
The food was good but the service was extremely poor. Not one server smiled the entire time we were there and they made fun of customers who were clearly visitors and not locals. The hostess consistently scowled and all of the servers were slow, inattentive, and rude. I highly do not recommend coming here.
Food was good but the service was horrible. Took 15 minutes to get the waiter to come back and take our dessert order after he gave us the menu. Took another 10 minutes before he remembered to come back to take our money. Each time I could see him look over with the “oh crap I forgot” look. We felt like an after thought the entire time during our meal. I get we aren’t dropping $500 on a meal but $200 is still a pretty penny.
Awesome , great place
Pretty good French food but very overpriced. You pay for the neighborhood. Service was also good.
Great environment. Food was tasty and nice portion size. Professional service.
If you enjoy high levels of ambient noise and a pretentious atmosphere then this is the place for you! The food quality and quantity is honestly not worth the price you pay.
Excellent cocktails and food. Attentive service, fun atmosphere. A bit noisy at the small tables near the bar. Definitely a reliable, go-to place.
I cannot say enough what a great brunch we had. Everything was beautifully prepared & the service was great.
Since I live in the neighborhood, the place is always crowded and read great reviews. Decided to try with some friends, was extremely disappointed with the food. Organic chicken was bland as was the mash potatoes. Rigatoni Bolognaise was mediocre and the Coq Au Vin was average. How can a French restaurant not get Coq Au Vin right? If you want better food for the price and impeccable service, I suggest Pastis.
The ambiance was nice, we went on a busy day so service was a bit slow. They were working hard!
The steak we ordered was pretty decent!
The food was great, the service was great. Our waiter Akin was AMAZING. I will definitely return.
Took an hour and a half from ordering to receive my food... Super busy, crammed at a tiny table and the waiter was not helpful. It's a great space, good indoor / outdoor options for seating but terrible service and its become very touristy. shame.
Fantastic NYC experience. Will go back again. Great food and atmosphere. Went to comedy cellar show right after. Was 8 minute walk. Great area and good. Highly recommend!
I lived in Greenwich Village for years and I was delighted to introduce my son to the area via this atmospheric and excellent restaurant. It has the Village vibe while producing very good, authentic French cuisine. We had the salad nicoise and a pasta dish with truffles and they were delicious and plentiful. I usually don't eat bread but you cannot resist Boucherie's bread basket! If you like dining outside, the "patio" on the street is great for people watching in the heart of the Village. If I was new to New York, I would make this restaurant first on my list!
I don’t think I’ve had a worse dining experience in the last 12 months. The food was simply a joke. Tasteless, badly cooked and of low quality
Not worth the money
Food great. Noisy and hot inside (A/C not on.) Street table instead, no problem for those who enjoy street scene.
Our server Giovani was really wonderful personable and didn’t try to to over sell us which we appreciated. Really lovely evening.
Fun place to have a drink with friends but would not recommend eating here. Very expensive and food was mediocre at best. Great ambiance and service though.
The food was delightful and the house cocktails were a good match. The decor was also lovely. If you have time to sit around with friends over a glass of wine it is the perfect spot.
A great dining experience is both the food and the service. And we had a great dining experience. Of course the food was delicious. What made the night special was the service. So special, in fact, that we came back for dessert on the patio after seeing a play in the Village. Wonderful night!
Excellent food quality.
Good location, nice outdoor seating, but food was just okay. Onion soup was too beef based in the broth. Carpaccio was good but not amazing. Ordered a steak, medium, and the center was red and cold. When mentioned to the waiter he insisted it was medium. He did offer to have it refired, which we turned down, but a steak that is red and cold in the center is not medium.
Quality food. Wine tremendous. Great room/atmosphere. Excellent experience.
The one on Union Square is much better! Decoration, service, food, etc...
The ambiance is great and service as well. But the prices are way heavier than the food deserves.
Get ready for spending at least 60 -70 dollars each, without any extravagancy.
My waiter was the best, great atmosphere, food well prepared and presented. We enjoyed our visit. Would recommend this place for its food and service.
Fantastic higher-end French restaurant with a beautiful indoor/outdoor space, happy and efficient waitstaff and great food. Wish they took outdoor reservations as a matter of course - everything else was perfect.
Wonderful setting, attentive staff and great food.
Incredible from start to finish we will be back
Was slightly skeptical to book a res at Boucherie after reading some of the reviews but we had such a GREAT dining experience. Our server Dado was a pro- he made a couple of great food recommendations and always made sure our glasses were full. It’s worth noting that the restaurant was slammed. There wasn’t an empty table yet we still had several people waiting on us. Prices were also very reasonable, given the quality of food and the dining experience. Overall 10/10. This place immediately became one of my favorite dining spots.
The food ,wine, cocktails and service is outstanding.
We're always satisfied! One of our favorite restaurants in NYC.
Very average food and overpriced
Wow! We already had high expectations when we made the reservation for dinner on a Monday night. Not only were they met, but definitively surpassed
Our party of four decided to go directly to main dishes, so we can leave room for desserts. Wise choice. We ordered the place ‘s signature boeuf bourguignon, the steak frites, a great arugula salad and the Monday special, a generous a incredibly well prepared lobster. Crepes Suzette to share gave the final sweet touch that our meal and a great wine made extraordinary.
The service was as great at the food, with great suggestions and attention to the slightest details to make this an unforgettable occasion.
I HIGHLY recommend you make time to enjoy a superb dinner and a lovely spring-almost-summer evening stroll in NYC ‘s village afterwords.
I was with a group from out of town, and were very excited to try Boucherie, but unfortunately when we got there, they were out of half of the menu, including the Pain Perdu, which was our number 1 reason for visiting Boucherie to begin with. They were out of orange juice, steak, and sausage - pretty much, why even open for breakfast? It was all very disappointing.
