Boucherie - West Village
Need to book at 4:15 AM?Other great restaurants with availability.
I was here for hanging out with my friend. It was our first time visit as we found they are participating the NYC restaurant week. Food was great and atmosphere was great as well. However the hostess made us feel uncomfortable with her attitude. Our first seen the hostess she seemed she’s not friendly and being grumpy all the time. Also, once we were seating, she didn’t give out the restaurant week menu so we’re not sure if we need to mention about it. We eventually get the handed when we asked the waiter.
Boucherie is a must visit for brunch. Food , service and atmosphere are fantastic! Expect long wait times if you haven't booked in advance but it's a must when visiting New York. Looking forward to being back soon.
Went in late but with a reservation, felt rushed by the server. Kitchen closed early (light crowd) and bar closed before 12:30 .
Like literally the best steak I’ve ever had, that’s all you need to know.
Very good food and great service, a little expensive but the quality of the food was great. They need a place to hang coats though. It was raining outside and we had to sit with our wet coats on our chairs because there's no place to hang them up.
The ambiance was a bit pretentious, other than that is was all good.
Great French food. The restaurant is really nice and very big for the West Village. I’d order almost anything in the menu, everything looks amazing.
One of the best meals ever.
Overpriced French Restaurant in a prime location. Onion soup was 4/10...chateau briand was okay...duck...small portion. Never spent $15 on a draft beer before.
Great bar staff
Nice happy hour menu
Sat next to Oscar winner at bar
For $60 you should get fries with a steak
Wine was good
Excellent service, delicious food, but a bit pricey. But it's NYC after all...
Food and service were excellent - pork tenderloin was best I’ve had, and my wife’s steak was charred to perfection as was my son’s hamburger. Look forward to returning. Great ambience, good scene.
The burger was amazing! The filet incredible, the onion soup was delicious and creme brûlée was to die for 💓
Had a celebratory business lunch
The wines were tremendous, and discounted, and our server was great.
The food was just okay. Uninspired RE-hashing of 1990’s French cuisine.
Beautiful interior/aesthetically pleasing. Wait staff was great and we always had full glasses of water. Most of the food we ordered was great. I got the Steak aux Oeufs (steak and eggs) which wasn’t anything special. But the Pain Perdu (French toast) and La Croque Monsieur were delicious! Would definitely come back for more of those.
Rubbish menu. Nothing to accommodate children and highly overpriced
Amazing. Took my boyfriend for his birthday on new year's eve and we left very satisfied. Service was everything. We will definitely be back
El lugar está muy bien decorado y es acogedor. Nos han servido muy amablemente y la comida ha estado deliciosas. Totalmente recomendable
We’ve been to this restaurant multiple times, plus their Union Square location. Granted, it was New Years Eve, we had a 6.45 reservation, we were rushed and hustled out, not relaxing at all. They have also revamped their wine list so there are no longer less expensive hidden gems on it. Prepare to spend a lot of money, casual French just got a little crazy.
We tried the Tomahawk Steak, meat was soft and tasty but for $170 was soo llttle and didn’t come with any companions.. with also tried the escargots and foie grass, that was delicious. Then dessert profiteroles and crepes, they are not the best at all, We could eat the profiteroles but not the crepes, they are too sweet and had bad taste, and anyways we had to pay for it.
I would say one of the best steaks in NYC. Worth the price and happy it delivered! While the space is tight, we were quite comfortable and did not feel it.
Lovely steak and wonderful atmosphere with the Christmas tree in the middle of the room
Absolute best meal ever!! The service, the ambience, the food, all perfect!! I will be talking about this experience for months to come. I had the Duck Confit and my partner had the Wagyu. Absolutely amazing.
We liked the dinner a lot, but when we got the notification from the credit card company after the charge went through, we were surprised that we got charged an extra $20 for no reason. (The bill was $170, we gave $30 tips to make it to $200, but the charge on the card became $220.) quite disappointed this happened.
We were sat upstairs and the tables were ridiculously cramped. I would not return for this alone. Our dinner was ruined because the lady on the adjacent table spoke so loudly it was physically uncomfortable and in my ear. Billed as an alternative or the new Balthazar I was disappointed. The wait to get to our booked table while the door staff worked out where they were seating everyone felt unprofessional and uninviting. The food was good. Hot and prompt. Service was average but probably good given the space they have to work in. The bread and butter delicious. Wine list overpriced. Ambience if you were downstairs probably superb. Balthazar wins if its a competition but for the sake of losing a couple of covers they would probably have had a great review, but as a result of being so cramped - literally have to move tables to get out of the seat the experience which was not cheap was ruined.
I was hoping for a cozy romantic space and it was just the opposite. We were packed into this extremely busy spot. Not what I expected after reading all the great reviews. I ordered steak frites which was done pretty well. My husband got the beef bourguignon and although it had pretty good flavor it was cold.
It was a disappointment for sure. Service was pretty good.
Service was inconsistent. Sometimes prompt, sometimes it took way too long. But overall a great experience and would highly recommend.
Extremely dissatisfied. Booked this online on the basis of Green Hour. Apparently only available at the bar! Did not say online!!! I am disabled and cannot do this . Therefore a waste of time!!! Out of our way to go there as recommended. Would NOT recommend or go there again. Most unhelpful!
Great Experience at Boucherie, I came from a place that meat is really good and this was really really good as well. Thumbs up for the Boucherie
Wonderful French restaurant with great food, atmosphere and service. It’s a fantastic value in the village. We’ve been several times and never disappointed.
Great place to have a group Xmas meal
Visiting NYC over Christmas and New Year with a friend and dined here Christmas Day evening everything was first class except perhaps we were at an unfortunate table where the draft from the air-conditioning was somewhat chilly. All staff were exceptionally pleasant and attentive
Came here for Christmas day dinner, was an absolutely amazing experience. so thankful for the experience our waiter provided to us.
I’ve been in this place many times for lunch. As a regular customer I was so excited to take my family here for Christmas but unfortunately the experience didn’t meet my expectations. Food was ok, with a couple of mistakes here and there but the service and the atmosphere were the worst part! The waitress was very slow, it took a lot of time to take our drink order and then it took forever to open the wine. The runner messed our order up and they forgot one dish for my mom.
What bothered me the most was the attitude going on: we were seated by the kitchen and I spent all my time listening the chef fighting with servers and runners. I understand a restaurant can have a lot of situations going on but those fights and attitudes ruined our special day! I always loved your dessert but yesterday we decided to go somewhere else to get coffee and dessert. I had enough of this stress. The lunch manager didn’t care at all and a 20% gratuity was charged!!
Fortunately the dinner manager understanding the situation came to talk to us. He was the only one caring, but we were about to leave so nothing changed the fact that the overall experience was orribile.
A suggestion to the chef: if you work in an open kitchen you should change the attitude and the way you treat the people if you see customers dining 2 feet away! People don’t want to listen to any dramas while eating.
Very nice setting, warm and welcoming. Excellent wine selection. Went there for brunch and would definitely go back for dinner. The hamburger and steak au poivre are excellent.
Everything was very good, a little overpriced though. I understand the location, history, and whole fuzz. But $10 for the side order of mediocre french fries is a little too daring. At least serve some house made sauce or ioli with it.
Everything else was perfect! Thank you
The ambience here was literally outstanding
Our dinner on Christmas Eve was exceptional in every way! The restaurant was decorated so beautifully...it's the prettiest spot to celebrate the holidays that we've ever seen in NYC!
Great nite! Food and service was top shelf.
Great food, very festive decorations, smooth wine, and amazing service (definitely request Zeina as your server)
