BOUCHERIE is a traditional French brasserie and steakhouse, celebrating Joie de Vivre in the heart of West Village. The restaurant prepares a menu of French classics and timeless bistro favorites, in addition to the dry-aged steaks. An absinthe-inspired bar offers classic drinks, signature cocktails and craft beers. Located in the building that used to house the prominent Circle Repertory Theater, the 320-seat restaurant provides a diverse array of dining options from the spacious dining room, a seat at the butcher counter, the intimate second-floor gallery with private dining and outdoor cafe. Boucherie has adapted to the current environment to make the dining experience safe for guests and staff. In addition to compliance with all CDC and NYC Covid guidelines for staff and premises, Boucherie is using dividers and single use menus for their ample seating.

Waiters were all super attentive to refill water and check on us without being too overbearing. Our waiter for the night put a candle on my dessert plate and sang me “Happy Birthday” which was nice. Food was delicious and absolutely worth it. Boyfriend said it felt like he was in another country (France, obviously lol). Would come again one day.

We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed the ambience and the energy of the restaurant. The only thing that was disappointing was I wanted to order the coq au Vin but they were out of it. Overall the staff was friendly and attentive and I would return and hopefully be able to sample the coq au vin.

I was pretty disappointed with my experience here :( The hostess was sweet and the table we got was perfect, but everything slowly unraveled from there. We tried ordering Pinot Grigio, which they said they ran out of (which was okay!), but then when we tried ordering Escargot on the appetizer list, they were also out of it? It was 3pm and I found it a little strange and I knew it wasn’t the server’s fault, but I feel like that is something to caution clients once they are seated so they know what is available and isn’t from jump. Then, we ordered some bread and butter and the appetizer with duck and foie gras mousse (which ended up never making its way out to the table and had to be removed off the bill) and the bread was sadly cold, hard, and a bit stale. The butter served along with it was cold as if it had just been taken out of the fridge, making it hard to spread the on the bread. We ordered the salmon entree, steak frites, and the wagyu burger. All was okay, but for the prices they charged for the food, it was all just very meh. I hate being so harsh but much of this stems from my disappointment because of how many good reviews it has and how many people told me to come here. It might have just been a bad day, but the experience was still subpar and too expensive for what it gave. A few positive things I will commend them for is that the ambiance was fantastic. I loved being in there and the dinnerware was picked out in good taste! The alternate wine we were offered was also delicious and perfectly chilled, so that definitely improved our experience. I might give the Boucherie another try for dinner, but as far as lunch goes, its not the best option!

The cocktail r awesome, I could really taste the different live-blogging through one sip. The food is ok for its price, we love the Mousse de Foie and pastry basket, though not a huge fan for steak and egg or wagyu steak burger. The entire space is very fluid and open, and it just for a great spring/summer brunch.

Having been a regular precovid this is a different experience-the service was poor the Matire d' rude and disinterested, cafe latte so awful that we swtiched to drip coffee. The only thing that was good were the pastries which were sensational. Having eaten here for years I will not return.

Food is great as usual. We talked in around 5 for a drink at the bar and had dinner reservation at 6pm. There weren't many people when we walked in but by the time we walked out there's no seat left. Everything is great except the table is way too small. It barely fit the dishes. Nevertheless will come back for sure.

Food was good, this review is mainly about the service. The length of time we waited at our table before any staff came over and repeatedly trying to get their attention was not something I have been accustomed to at Boucherie. This was during the height of lunch time and the restaurant looked to be at capacity. I personally perceived there was not enough staff to accommodate all of the patrons. I hope management assess the schedule ahead of time accordingly to avoid this in the future.

Restaurant seemed more eager to turn and burn through seatings than it did about creating a good experience.

My second time going to Boucherie and it’s quickly becoming my favorite place to go to! The drinks are great, the food is delicious and the waitstaff are all friendly.

Bustling atmosphere! Our meal was amazing from appetizer to dinner. Really special was the service. We had the white asparagus, moules frites, and chocolate mousse.

First, bravo to the team at Boucherie on their provisions around Covid protections. The seating, virtual menus and atmosphere is safe and engaging. Service was impeccable, lots of the right kind of attention without being overbearing, quick seating, ordering and food arrival. I thoroughly enjoyed a Wagu bar steak (I think that might mean smaller than the 12oz options), it was beautifully prepared and the right amount with accompanying potatoes. I would have preferred more greens however, 1 more wedge of romaine please.

Was a very big supporter of Boucherie but last three visits have been disappointing. Ordered my regular 'steak frites'. Fries came on the colder side, pepper sauce was room temperature. They replaced the meal, fries were still not the usual high quality standard. They eventually gave us each another serving of fries.
Server was very good and attentive however management seemed quite oblivious to this being my 3rd poor experience in just a few weeks. Definitely not value for money and I will not be returning!

One of the worst service I’ve encountered in an establishment like this. Took 15 mins just for water and to be acknowledged. We actually left the table to get water ourselves. Drink took another 15 minutes. Overpriced and I dine out a lot and I’m not concerned about price but the value wasn’t there. Never again.

They kept bringing someone’s food—3x. My husband got the wrong dish and my eggs benedict was cold—cold poached eggs and potatoes. The escargot was delicious. Lastly, we waited 10 minutes for them to pick up the credit card. Not a good brunch place.

The staff at Boucherie all were amazing to us and accommodated all of our needs! The food was outstanding and the wine was perfect! I had a great time celebrating an anniversary with Boucherie! Definitely recommend!

A unexpectedly cold and rainy day. Because it is almost summer, the restaurant had its front doors all open. But it made for a pretty chilly meal.

We went out at Boucherie for our anniversary. Among the good things: Outside seating was comfortable and felt COVID-safe. Food was tasty. Among the disappointments: At this price point, the lack of real menus felt déclassé (they were accessible on our phones with a QR code). Our entrees arrived before our appetizers, one of which we then cancelled. My burger was present upside down. Both our burgers were missing toppings. And my $19 cocktail was disappointing in flavor and presentation. And we’d notes when we made the reservation that it was our anniversary, and that wasn’t acknowledged at all. Overall, a rather disappointing experience.

Food was amazing, server made a few mistakes with our orders but the kicker was the $40 Cake Fee to serve a cake my husband kindly dropped at the restaurant earlier in the afternoon to surprise me. I would understand that high of a Cake Fee if they served cakes at the restaurant, but they do not and $40 is truly excessive.
