I had tagliatelle with 4 mushrooms, so delicious! Our server was totally charming and attentive. We sat outside and he let us taste the wine even though we just ordered two glasses. SF was under orders to close all restaurants the next day for 3 weeks, so everyone was out for one last good time.
It’s a low-key location. Street side dining. The waiter was quite welcoming and entertaining. The food was excellent. Great presentation Lovely flavor in an eclectic mix. We had the best time and it was a great memory. Could not have asked for anything better
Was not worth the experience. Had to pay ~$170 sitting in the cold while the waiter was not attentive to us. The food was great though.
Exceptional service and overall high quality meal and experience. Would recommend and dine there again!
Great food and great service, I’ll definitely go back and will recommend to friends
I really liked this place, the vibe was very friendly and like everyone knew each other. Food was delicious too.
Enjoyed the meal but had a little higher expectations. The menu may have been a bit limited which seams to be a common trend since "the new normal". The wine list was especially limited. Although, the service staff was friendly and accommodating. Value seemed to come up short. But in all fairness, I have had that feeling every time I have gone out for a $500 meal (for two with wine) since covid.
Wonderful outside seating. Sam was fantastic. the food was delicious & the menu changes often. Highly recommend.
Delicious food as always and wonderful service on a busy Saturday evening.
Great place to eat. A bit chilly outdoors, so I'm looking forward to be back inside the restaurant. One of my favorite SF restaurants. Great food, staff, drink.
Wonderful food and service. Cute summer small plates on warm summer night in SF. Loved it!
Great meal with great service! Sat on the sidewalk. New tapas menu. Lovely evening
This was such a surprise find! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed all the French dishes. The servers were very friendly. The dishes are small plates/ tapas style, so be prepared to order 7-8 dishes. The price is set right at $8 per dish.
For a moment, it reminded me of sitting outside in a cafe in Paris and enjoying my meal.
Love this place - so happy it appears they will survive COVID-19.
Decided to go to Bouche on a whim as it was two blocks away from our hotel. The moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Julie who played hostess, waitress, and entertainer for the night. The food was incredible, the ambience was peaceful and romantic, and the service was exceptional. The tapas menu is perfect if you’re not looking for a heavy meal. Ordering a bottle of French champagne to go with your meal is a must. If you’re in Nob Hill or the surrounding area, this restaurant should be on the top of your list.
My friends and I had a great time Friday night at Bouche!
Enjoy some lovely Wines and great tapas! The beef tartare and the boudin noir were my favorites because they are classic French dishes :) but everything else that we had was delicious !
Service was perfec! It was nice to see Sam always bringing great and positive vibes and Jeremy the Chef working hard in the kitchen!
Our experience was amazing !! So glad we found this little gem. Sam our server was attentive and professional. We were so happy to support local businesses. The tapas options are beyond delicious, fresh. It felt really good to dine out and be welcomed that nicely by the team. We will be back for sure. Oh... and we also found out that they offer catering and private dinner Take a Chef yeahhh!!
Overpriced, French tapas place - well seasoned dishes but the poor value is simply disrespectful. Croquettes $8 plate is ... one (1) croquette per plate; so for a family of four, four (4) croquettes would have equal $32 and that was the starter. Sardines, in SF would have expected fresh, two (2) canned Sardines. Will not describe the sliders. Again, well seasoned but a rip-off
Good delicious food - unexpected, it's the surprise when you think it's tapas or small plates NO it's order 5 or 6 items to make a whole meal Lol. Fortunately my large figure doesn't require that much'Are ya sure you don't need nuthin else Mister C??' jk - the staff is quality trying to get be like all of us. I liked this guy - I'm guessing which is foolish but thinking Marcel?
Spoke French perhaps 1st language- cool, fun, knowledgeable suggested good items. The $25 surprise was 4 thumbnail Bellinis with creme fraiche and a baby monkey littlest finger of Russian Caviar.
Those dang monkeys love Beluga, Oscetra and Sevruga - cannot recall which it was. Probably the one that hung out in the salt flats. Tasty yet AWESOMELY disappointing to go from $8 to $25 and get 1/100th and I'm not about Quantity.
I swear to the Moon and Stars - swing with me.
A fun spot - it's open is a major factor when considering where to go. More of a half teaspoon per course atmosphere, however when I ordered a beer they gave me all 12 ounces! Hey Now.
Loved being able to dine at Bouche again and even enjoyed the outdoor dining on Bush St. as it felt very Parisian. Miss the full French cuisine menu that we are accustomed to at Bouche but they did a nice job with small plates. Service was super friendly and they did there best to make it a fun evening for us!
Delicious food, wonderful service! It feels very authentically French and just the right amount of low-key. Highly recommended!
The waiter was AMAZING! We ate a spectacular meal and enjoyed every second. Every dish was unique, special and assembled beautifully.
Limited menu just opening from COVID but knowledgeable service and very good food.
It’s been forever since my husband and I went on a dinner date and Bouche really delivered. Everything was CLEAN and I loved dining in the sidewalk. It was quiet and the weather was beautiful! And the food was of course, up to Bouche’s normal high standard. We were so relaxed and happy!
The staff were friendly and just wonderful. The proprietor is from a French-speaking African country (I forget which one) so the atmosphere feels more lively than a typical French restaurant. There were apologies for things being limited due to Covid regulations, but the only things "limited" were the menu (only 3 entree choices and 3 wine-by-the-glass choices) and the seating, which is on the sidewalk.
The atmosphere is fun. It seems to be a neighborhood hangout for the local French-speaking population. My wife studied French long ago, so she had fun picking up on some of the conversations.
The food was great. We had Gespacio (cold tomato soup) which was excellent, the chef's salad (excellent also) but way different than a typical chef salad. More a green salad with a few anchovies and (quail?) eggs. But it was good. The lamb skewers with cous cous were excellent. The burger was a bit French, so...different, but good. (The 3rd choice was ahi tuna.) The 3 dessert choices were a cherry flan, a cheese plate and a chocolate Pot de Crem, which was exactly what we craved. Though we're chocoholics, and we shared, the 2 of us couldn't finish it!
Prices are high; maybe that's just SF. But $25 for a burger? The other entrees were $30. A little high for the serving size. But this was a fun dining experience!
This restaurant is so cute. The waiter Katsi was super friendly and his food recommendations were on point. The beef tartar and seared tuna were excellent. This was my daughter and I first dining out experience since lockdowns and Bouche outdid themselves. I will be returning for the salmon next
Dining outside due to COVID19.
They have one of the best burgers I’ve had in my life and the waitress was super friendly. Highly recommended
Can’t wait to go back once they can reopen! One of my new favorite restaurants in the city.
If you are looking for a French restaurant with the European vibe, this is it! You have found it! The food is always amazingly fresh because they source the ingredients locally. The owners, servers, everyone working there are extremely nice and friendly. This is my favorite French restaurant in the city!
Great service! Do not miss the Adventurous dish!
Excellent food, lively atmosphere for small place, friendly attentive service.
Delicious and cozy. Great way to spend the evening.
Our server was AMAZING! Thank your making our anniversary a lot much memorable
Pre theatre. Perfect timing. Warm, personal.
Our favorite French restaurant in the City.
Perfect in every way...a gem hidden plain sight.
Very nice intimate dining area upstairs from the wine bar. The food and service was excellent.
Slightly better food quality and service than I expected though price is what I expected - expensive. Annoying like many SF restaurants that they pass off the cost of their employee benefits to their customers as an additional cost.
Second time there.
Every one of our three courses was delicious. The waiter was exceptional.
We will return!
Thanks for a great experience!
Always exceeds our expectations
First time here for a Valentine’s Day dinner, and it was a revelation. Easy to miss this small restaurant tucked above the Stockton Street Tunnel on Bush Street but it is well worth the effort. The food was uniformly outstanding despite there being a limited menu given the small kitchen. Delicious appetizers with unusual features (a little gem salad with soft boiled duck egg). Main courses were also wonderful, and quite large (we ended up with boxes of leftover). A special that night of venison melted in my mouth, my wife’s duck breast was also excellent. Although pretty full we couldn’t resist a dark chocolate mousse, which did not disappoint at all. Service was attentive and we easily made our theater performance (just 3 blocks from Geary and Curran Theaters). be aware that Bouche is on the pricey side, but we were more than happy.
