    The restaurant is supposed to be French, but the menu does not include many French dishes (not even the traditional onion soup). Although the service was good (kind waitress and cook), the poor quality of the ingredients and the lack of proper cooking are evident as soon as your food is served on your table. On top of everything, the cost for such terrible food is really high. Unless there's a change, I won't be coming back nor recommend this place.

    Dinner is a fixed menu with 2-3 seasonal selections per category. Vegetarians and meat-eaters alike can select a wonderful set. Kitchen is sensitive to food allergies so gluten-free needs are tastefully met. Very much missing Bouche's full pre-pandemic menu where it was so much fun to select a wide range of items for our table (especially when we joined with friends). Service has improved (was very well staffed this occasion) than in the previous few years. Suggested wine pairings were perfect! Bouche has been a favorite of ours for 10+ years. Missing Julie!

    2nd try. The tuna was bland and dry on edges. Did not seem fresh. The soup needed spices...the desert needed sugar. Almond flour and cocoa don't do.much. It was dry....

    With a prix fixe menu that changes every two weeks it’s like a new adventure twice a month. Went for my birthday and everything was lovely. 10/10 recommend.

    Everything about this place is 5 stars!!! The food, the service, the physical space. Small and intimate, the food that comes out is big and bold. Everything is fresh and lovely to look at and just delicious! Staff is friendly, in tune with food drop off timing and conversant...you don't feel like "just another diner". Merci beaucoup!

    We’ve been enjoying Bouche since 2014. It has been our go to restaurant when we visit San Francisco! This last visit was for my birthday. As always it was great! Even though it is a fixed menu now they give you plenty of choices to pick from and everyone at our table loved their meal and dessert. We recommend picking the chef’s adventurous appetizer. They are very helpful at picking wines to go with the delicious meal. Needless to say another great dinner in 2023!

    Our experience at Bouche was wonderful. Warm, friendly and exquisite service from our waiter Samuel. Food was delicious and unique. The upstairs area is cute - small but comfortable. The music selection adds to the calm and enjoyable atmosphere. The chef is the owner here and does a terrific job! We will be back again :)

    My wife and I ate her on our 52nd wedding anniversary. If you are a fan of real French food rather than what passes for it in French Bistros in SF, this is the place for you. We've eaten here several times and it never disappoints.

    We enjoyed our meal so much !! The cold cucumber soup was outstanding, but my favorite was the peach Melba dessert. They offered a 2001 Monthelie Pinot noir by the glass for $25. What a steal !!! The flavors were unique and the service very personalized. What a gem. Can’t wait to bring more people there again. Thank you Bouche. Highly recommended

    Had a wonderful birthday dinner here last night. Glen & Hanna took good care of us. We sat downstairs in the only table by the window. Very small space, but good for people watching. Stairs lead to an upper level with more tables. I had the pork tenderloin and my husband had the pasta. The dinner is a three course meal for $55. Two choices per course, so we each got to try something different. Loved it and will come back again.

    Samuel is highly entertaining and willing to allow you to practice your French with him while he plys you with wine tastes. We adored him. The food was simple, well executed, nicely plated. I had a piece of yellowtail with delectable crispy skin, pureed roasted zucchini soup with crusty bread and a generous quenelle of soft butter, and apricot cake with toasted macadamia nuts. We sat outside for dinner in a sheltered space with heaters and felt comfortable. The prix fixe for all of these courses was $55 and imho super reasonable. Bon appétit!

    A nice experience with kind waitstaff, however the food is quite underwhelming. The flavors of the appetizers and main courses were not impressive. The desserts, however, were of a higher caliber.

    Lovely intimate 'bistro' with the great concept of a limited two-choice, three course menu ... with a few extras. Wonderful service and romantic ambiance. The food was good - rather than outstanding. The small portion of main course lamb was beautifully cooked, with some imaginative accompaniments, including chunks of cucumber in a tzaziki sauce. The banana dessert was a rather dry cake, with dried banana crisps sprinkled over it - and a delicious banana sauce.
