We went for brunch. The food was great! The lemon ricotta pancakes were amazing, and tasted great, even without syrup! There was an Eggs Benedict item that was low carb, because a cauliflower patty was used instead of an English muffin! Everyone at the table loved their food. Our 10 year old loved his mac and cheese! We will definitely go back again! Delicious!

We have been going to Michael Angelos for decades. We could always count on excellent food, comfortable ambiance and good service. We had not been there in a few months, as we now live about one hour away, but were looking forward to a reunion with friends for dinner. What a terrible surprise. The restaurant had been totally re decorated. Seating options were changed, the entire place re designed. It was loud and a little chintzy, compared to the previous elegant, comfortable design. Ok....we were still looking forward to the food. Sadly, a serious disappointment. The appetizers of bruchetta, white anchovies and calamari were not nearly up to their previous standard. The bruchetta had virtually no seasoning (garlic was notably missing). The anchovies were served thrown on a plate with no presentation. They seemed old. The calimari was tough. Also disappointing was the portion size....barely adequate for one person. Our entrees continued the trend of bland and small portion size....hardly what one expects from an Italian restaurant. My clams and linguini had exactly five manila clams. The portion size was adequate for a small child who was not hungry. The rest of my party had various pasta dishes, the sauce of which seemed little more than tomato paste. The deserts were displayed as one entered the restaurant and looked delicious. We ordered the chocolate cake and a lemon cake offering. Both were so dry as to be inedible.

This is really a tragedy.....a once great restaurant ruined. I do not know if there was a change of ownership, but unfortunately, we will not return.

Used to be a quiet place. The makeover made the place loud. Also the kitchen was not expanded to match the expanded seating, so svc was slow. Also, Food prep needs to follow more authentic southern Italian cuisine—less than average Italian fare

Really like the restaurant but this is the second time I booked on line requesting a table in the bar area and did not receive it.
Disappointing.

The decor and outside patio are very nice. It was very clean and the service was quite good. We went at 4:00 so it was very quiet and not noisy at all. The lasagna and the eggplant Parmesan were too salty and the sauce was nothing to brag about. The bread was good and so was the Chianti wine. We liked the chocolate mousse desert. That was the best part of the meal.

Ordered a vegetable side which was never served, even after several requests. Ordered a side of rolls (supposedly a house favorite); those were served after we were finished with the entrees and the table had been cleared. The entrees (chicken parmigiana) were of poor quality chicken, tough, and overcooked. Our waitress disappeared for some time and we had to ask another employee to find her to bring our check. Avoid this place.

I have enjoyed dining here probably a dozen times in the last 25 years.
The old decor was much friendlier, quieter and cozy.
The waiter came on as friendly but had trouble remembering when we asked for more bread and to refill our drinks.
Three of us had eggplant which was delicious.

I have been there several times since the re-opening. The food is good, the wine list limited and the cocktails quite small. I would recommend for the authentic italian preparation. I would caution people not to go on a night when there is anything like football in the bar area - it was EXTREMELY loud and we were in the dining room. The service was fine but certainly not terribly attentive.

This is the second time we've dined in this restaurant since the major remodel. Even with a reservation, we had to wait for a table. We were seated in a booth designed to seat 4 people, but there was no way we could sit across from one another. As a couple, we enjoyed sitting, side by side, but I don't know what they would have done in a different situation.

The food was very good and our server was pleasant. We will be back.

First time visiting and it was highly recommended. I would say overall it was fair. It was a bit pricey and my wifes entree was very dry. The bruschetta was very good and I would recommend that. Overall the visit was fair and I am not sure if I would go back based on the prices and the quality of food.

While we both enjoyed our meals, we both were up at 1 a.m. with stomach distress. My husband NEVER has an upset stomach - nothing ever bothers him - but, WOW, we were both very ill and I was 7nable to eat breakfast and had pains until midday Monday.

Excellent food. Service was good, but slow in our instance. This may be because it was toward the end of the evening. I will definitely come back with friends, but avoid the busiest hours because of the noise.

I made a reservation for an anniversary dinner, requesting outdoor seating. When we arrived, the hostess headed toward an indoor table; I reminded her that I had requested outdoor seating and she led us to the patio and said, "Sit anywhere." Once seated, we received water and menus promptly. Very soon after, another server took our orders, which included a bottle of wine. The wine wasn't delivered for ~ten minutes, and we waited another ten minutes for our salads. The entrees took another ~15 minutes to arrive. Yes, the place was busy on a Friday night, but if this place is now focused on a more casual dining experience, they need to increase kitchen staffing to get the orders out more quickly. At the end of the meal, our server offered us the dessert menu. There was no mention of our anniversary celebration or offer of a complimentary dessert. Apparently, they make no notice of the notes that are left in the Open Table reservations.
That said, the food was delicious. The Caesar salads are creatively plated and include lots of Parmesan cheese. We both had pasta dishes, and the pasta was delicate and the sauces flavorful. We took a piece of the Chocolate Decadence cake home with us, and shared it over two evenings. The wine list is modest; it would be nice to see some Arizona wines on the list.

The food was delicious and the place was bustling on Saturday night. Our table in the middle of the floor close to where the wait staff picked up their orders was a little awkward.

We would have loved sitting outdoors is the gas heaters had been turned on.

We love the new 'look' and 'feel' of the restaurant! The upgrades and modernization makes the place feel very welcoming and 'alive.' Same great Italian food, and the new pizza oven is a nice centerpiece between the updated bar and main dining area. They've also added a new pastry case that draws you like a magnet... near the front door...wow! And the espresso machine churned out some nice after-dinner libations for us.

We live nearby and we were anxious for this restaurant to reopen. Recently remodeled and renamed [Bottega ] Michelangelos was very busy on this Friday night. (Reservations suggested)The décor is modern Italian and very clean and modern. We ordered oven fired margarita pizza and Caesar salad. They were nicely prepared and presented and the pizza crust was exceptional. It will take a few more visits to try other menu items to fully assess if the food is as good as the ambience. Considering how incredibly busy they were I found the service acceptable. Our waiter, Josh, had a warm smile and no indication he was under stress. Good job.
