Sitting on the outdoor patio was fabulous. The food was outstanding.
Excellent spacing and attention to cleanliness. Food was better than ever glad to be back. Comfortable experience.
Great food and service! We will definitely be back again.
Food was very good, across the menu. The wine list, however, could use a little freshening. It is a, somewhat, short wine list that could, in my opinion, use a little lengthening and addition of a few upmarket additions.
Probably a good place for a large party or get-together, rather than a date or family supper. Quite loud. Service was slow. Portions were acceptable with some dishes, lacking with others. It seems popular, just not for us I suppose.
Keith was an excellent server! Food was great, over all a great evening!
Went for our anniversary. Food is terrific. Server was great. Seated in a nice cozy booth which was comfortable-I personally don’t like the high tables that are so popular.
Busy night in spite of the Covid panics. Sound levels are on the louder side but you can talk without having to yell.
Very nice dinner. Make a reservation!
Just go! This is a beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service.
Very noisy on Saturday ,good food good service and not too expensive
Birthday for a friend and his wife. Food was excellent as always. Flexibility in serving adjustments to two dinners. Both turned out well. Waiter was extremely accommodating.
This restaurant was adorable! Good food and great atmosphere!
Everything tasted great! The server was attentive and pleasant. Make reservations even if you are going mid-week. They always seem to be busy.
Great Italian restaurant with meals prepared as remembered from our trips to Italy. Everything from the bread and seasoned olive oil to the perfect pasta dishes were outstanding. Service was perfection. Our server, Ty, explained the specials, made recommendations, and was available when needed. He is an asset to Bottega Michelangelo. He should be recognized by Management for excellent service. Thanks for a super evening of dining.
Consistently good food in a bright atmosphere
As always, food was great and the service was excellent! Thanks Emily for being so attentive and great!
Very poor food.
I did not eat most of the meal.
Prior visits have been better. I left still hungry.
Updated March 14, 2020:
Per below we gave Michelangelo another try and were very impressed. We shard a caprese appetizer that was savory and fresh. They use a combination of cheeses and fresh tomatoes that worked quite well for us. My wife had a traditional tagliatelle with meat sauce,I had bucatini with prosciutto in a cream sauce. What impressed me is my dish is sometimes made with too much onion. Our waitress assured me there were only traces of onion and she was right. We shared a cannoli and gelato for dessert. It was obvious they have their own pastry chef as the cannoli was fresh. The service was great. Shanice (?) took good care of us. We agreed that our first visit was an anomaly, and that Giuseppe’s outreach to make it right was successful. We also agreed that it is worth the 22 minute drive to get good Italian food, versus defaulting to the mediocre, overpriced restaurant close to home.
Two of us on date night, made aa early reservation, place was mostly empty except for a table of 20, lots of loud kids.
Guess where they sat us?
Cheap fettuccine was overcooked with bland Alfredo sauce. Salmon was overcooked. My wife’s eggplant parmigiana was meh.Mediocre service. I complained to the waiter about where they sat us and he agreed it was a dumb move but that’s where it ended. I would love to hear from the owner but based on our experience I doubt they care enough.
March 1 update- Giuseppe called about my review and apologized. He asked me to give them another chance, which I will. It speaks volumes when the owner calls and wants to make it right. Stay tuned.
We won’t be going back.
We sat out on the patio because inside is too loud. Our dissatisfaction was because our entree’s were brought out before we finished our salads. We felt rushed. There wasn’t enough room on the table for everything. But the dinners were good.
Suggest you use good wine glasses for reds and whites. Not the whisky glasses as were provided to me for my Chianti.
This place just keeps getting better since the remodel. My friend raved over the swordfish. I have been to central Italy many time and love good porchetta (the best in the world is in Soriano nel Cimino). So I had to give it a try. They really captured the essence of the dish with the right mix of herbs and spices. Plating some delicious sausage with the dish was a nice touch too. Whenever I get a need for some porchetta, I'll order it again... its a lot closer to home than Italy.
The waitress was busy and made us feel rushed. A smile now & then would have helped. The food was wonderful though!
The noise level is high and difficult to have a conversation. If you want to chat I’d suggest a table outside.
Excellent food and service! Second time that we’ve dined here and it was consistent with our first visit. Calamari is the best we’ve had and we love calamari! Delicious bread, excellent entrees (pasta, chicken, eggplant), and amazing desserts (chocolate cake, cannolis, “pope’s pillow” is awesome!!! Service is very friendly, atmosphere (we sat outside both times) is comfortable with moderate noise level.
The menu is quite good. Something for every palate. I loved the beet salad, but would not order the swordfish again: too thin of a cut and a bit overdone, but tasty.
The changes at Bottega Micheangelo are disappointing to those of us who have been going to this restaurant since the 1980's when it was located at Oracle and Rudasill. To begin with, after the remodel, this restaurant where you could have a wonderful date night or business dinner and be able to have great conversation has turned into an extremely loud restaurant where you can barely hear yourself think, let alone have any meaningful conversation with those at your table. The portions and value have also changed. The prices have gone way up and you get much less for your money. You used to get a soup or salad with dinner, now that is a la carte and the dinner portions are much smaller. Additionally, they used to have wonderful garlic rolls in addition to crusty bread. These are now gone, too. I long for the old Michelangelo's restaurant, which used to be my all time favorite restaurant. Not so much anymore. I will look elsewhere for my new favorite restaurant.
Food was delicious! Our server did a great job. They were very busy the night we were there, but we were still in and out in an hour. It is easy to get to and has very nice outdoor seating as well as an great indoor area. The bar is great! The desserts are to die for!!!!!!
Excellent food - a bit noisy but had a wonderful time.
The service was great as was the food. I had the salmon with risotto and my husband had the pizza and both were amazing. The garlic olive oil to dip the bread in was a bit overpowering and a bit spicy but everything else was delicious.
Took friends they really enjoyed great service good foodThanks
The restaurant was very busy and we were seated exactly at our reservation time. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding.
It is too bad that when the restaurant was remodeled they used all hard services. It is soooo loud in there you can barely talk. Plus they were clearly overbooked. Many people with reservations had to wait 29-30 minutes for a table.
The food was great as well as service. Work on noise level please.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner. Excellent food and service.
The atmosphere was nice. A little noisy on some ends, but for the most part, the art and the decor were very pleasant. However, the waiting time after making reservations was around 20 minutes and I was seated inside when I had reserved a patio table. The food was acceptable, but not anything special.
Great experience! The food was amazing! Noah, Adrianna, and Owen were amazing assistances! We love this place!
Great way to spend Valentine’s Day with quality food and excellent service. We are never disappointed.
We often come to Michelangelo's. Never disappointed whether it be the dining room or happy hour in the bar. This visit was on Valentine's Day. Like everyplace else, the restaurant was booked up solid for the night, However, unlike many other restaurants on this extremely busy day, the service, food, pace all were were executed outstandingly. Kuddos to the staff.
I took my wife and mother for Valentines Day and the staff and kitchen was outstanding. One of my favorite spots for Italian on e Northwest side.
Wonderful family run restaurant! Serving Tucson for decades. Best in value and service.
Haven't been in here in twenty years, what a nice return!
