Fabulous food! The portion sizes for the appetizers were on the small side for the price, but they were delicious! We sat in the back dining room and it was so quiet and cozy. The server was knowledgeable and attentive. We had a wonderful evening!
Great food. Restraunt was freezing.
Lunch for 2. Service was impeccable and the food was fresh and delicious. I tried the Bento box lunch and it was great to get a sample of 5 or 6 items. We tried the cebiche appetizer. Nicely prepared sauce as the underlay to fresh sashimi style fish. If you like tuna, you definitely have to try it.
Great tasting dishes on the restaurant week dinner courses, very filling also. We waited a very long time between items in each course, so it isn’t a quick experience. The price was in my expensive date night range. That is without any drinks, still over $100.
Service was great. We love the Pearl so atmosphere was awesome. Booths are really close but it allows for meeting people as you wait for meal. We did have to send a dish back but the food and deserts we had were amazing. Will definitely be dining again!
Very good fusion menu combining Latin and Japanese flavors. Good vegetarian choices as well. The ceviche with authentic Peruvian flavors is the highlight of the menu.
Anniversary dinner. Our server, Dani, was awesome.
The food is overrated. We had the fried yuca for an appetizer. My husband had the tuna and hamachi sashimi and I had the bento box. The fried yuca was fine - the dipping sauces not inventive. The sashimi came in six pieces - three of each kind. Very small portions and expensive roughly $3/slice and each slice was maybe 1”x1.5”x0.25.” My husband didn’t think it was fresh as it upset his stomach afterwards. My bento box consisted of empanada, kale salad, ahi tuna salad, chicken with corn salsas over rice. Empanada and kale salad were okay, Ahi tuna didn’t seem fresh, and the chicken was very salty. I don’t think we will go back.
Best Octopus ever and I have been around the world; being from Spain I do appreciate the excellent cooking of a tender and delicate taste of octopus.
Food was great as was the general service. However, after being asked if we would like to order something to start, was surprised and disappointed when our entire order (ceviche, salad, beets, chaufa) came out essentially at once.
The food was awesome, our server Brittian was outstanding, and the drinks were so yummy. Totally coming back! Went on a Saturday and my sisters and I are still taking about the food today!
Love the fusion between Peruvian and Japanese cuisine.
Botika is perfect if you like sushi and some non traditional dishes. The menu is unlike any other in SA. If you're looking for burgers or tacos this isn't the place, but if you want to experience high quality seafood (and other protein) this is the place. Easy access in the Pearl
Loved our waiter- very informative and suggested items that matched our palette. I appreciate when the waiter knows their menu and can ask questions to help us reach a decision. Cocktails were excellent and the food was hot with fresh ingredients. I would recommend if you want something different and not the normal dish you find in San Antonio. Atmosphere is lively and the outside area is great for people watching.
Botika is consistently outstanding. The food flavors and quality are exceptional and when coupled with solid service, it’s tough to beat this restaurant. Well done!
Everything was AMAZING!
Great atmosphere and service. Food was delish and on point. Will come again!
We really enjoyed our visit for a birthday celebration on Sat 7/27/19. Our waiter Dorian was very knowledgable and attentive. We ordered a myriad of dishes that came out as they were completed so we all (6 if us) got to eat a little of everything. The peach cobbler and cookies with coffee sorbet desserts were delectable.
Food selection was unique and well prepared. The waiter took time to explain the items and provided recommendations.was. visiting from California and will return
Our server Luis was awesome! Very attentive and made sure we were aware of menu changes as they transitioned into happy hour. Food was fresh and delicious!
Wonderful food and service! Such creative and delicious food!
We went for brunch on Sunday. It’s right in the heart of the Pearl district, right around the Farmers Market. The steamed buns was amazing, first time having them. Great food. Great area. Great experience!
Great appetizers and drinks. The meals were large. I thought my food was too salty.
The food was incredible. I will definitely return and recommend to anyone who wants to try a good fusion restaurant.
Food was just "ok". I think it could be more inventive. The music playing in the background needs an update, as the selection was reminiscent of a mix I would have heard at a TGIFridays. The service, while courteous, was amateurish. This place glimmers with promise, but needs a good polish.
Overrated. The food was at best average. Also too
many flies hovering around. The best part
was the service.
Great menu for sharing and great variety.
The Restaurant was fantastic, and I would recommend it to everyone. The food was eclectic and delicious, with flavors that were off the chart! The service was very good.
If I could give one silly constructive criticism, it would be that there be at least one selection of an Amber or darker beer on the list. If your not a beer drinker, than there is absolutely nothing holding you back from a stupendous meal!
Food and Service was impeccable.
Javier our server and Chris Cuellar the Manager were stellar.
Definitely will come back.
The food was amazing! Shareable plates.
AMAZING!! Everything was delicious!
Ambiance and service were great. Appetizers were amazing. Then, three out of four entrees we ordered were disappointing. Two of the three entrees were so salty we ended up taking them to home to doctor them up - we debated returning the plates to the kitchen but did not want to deal with the hassle. For the price, the food should be outstanding from start to finish. We would definitely go back but be very selective on what we ordered. In general, it seemed like the Peruvian-inspired dishes were great and the Asian-inspired dishes need help.
Maybe it was just one of those days. We came in for dinner on a Saturday. One of their woks broke soo there’s a long delay on our meal. We ended up asking it to go. They offered to have a drink while we wait. We declined the offer bc the 1 drink we did have is enough. However, after patiently waiting and had given us our orders, they still forgot the kids meal. My husband had to go back again and get our orders straightened out. Our waiter was very nice and the wok situation was out of his hand. But, we would appreciate to double check our orders before handing us our bag.
Great food. We loved the food and the shareable dishes. Staff seemed friendly but our server was not very helpful in recommending dishes, almost felt he was not really wanted to help and to make our dinner experience outstanding. Towards the end of the meal he became very funny and friendly.... well he showed he was able to give a different experience to his patrons. Wish next time we can get someone else.
Great restaurant! We loved the food and the atmosphere.
Love Botika! The food is delicious and the drink selection is great. Outstanding service!
The food was fabulous the drink selection as well. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly and provide great input for selections and recommendations. The food is A Peruvian Asian type of infusion, very much like the uniqueness. It was wonderful to share the dishes with the others at the table for a somewhat family style eating.
We looked for vegetarian options.
The beet salad was amazing!!! (5 stars) and the Pisco Sour drink was good as well. I was not amazed about the eggplant with noodles plate, it was drowned in sauce and it came with only two tofu bites.
The one problem I have with botika is the food service. The understand the waiter told us ahead of time that once a dish is ready, they send it out immediately regardless if the rest of the tables food is ready or not. From the time the first dish came out to the time of the last dish to come out (mine) approximately 45 minutes went by and everyone else had already finished their food, creating a weird kind of eating experience. I’m not sure who came up with this idea of service at a restaurant, but it’s not very enjoyable. To be the only person eating after everyone else has already eaten doesn’t seem right and goes against what a real dining experience is.
