I asked the hostess for a different table upon entering. She told me the tables I requested were for 3 people. After I was seated she the seated couples at those tables. It will be a very long while before I consider going back to Botika.
The food is amazing. I highly recommend the potstickers, empanadas and the buns on the appetizer menu.
I glass of Cava, grilled octopus and a summer roll relieved the oppressive heat this weeknd. Can't wait to return!
Octopus was great. Service was quick and friendly. Cool vibe in the Pearl, just a little pricey.
I’ve always loved my food at Botika but this time the yucca fries were way over cooked.
Too noisy to hold a conversation at the table
The whole experience was great! The Chefs and management were hands on! They were Checking food as it left the line and visiting tables. Our waiter was fabulous and just right on his service. I suggest ordering family style and tasting all the opportunities you can. All is excellent. Cheers to Botika!
We were a table of six on a Saturday night, but the service was spot on and our server was knowledge, present, and energetic. The food is creative, fresh, and tasty, though the portions for the ceviche and dumplings were skimpy. Even our savvy California friends were wowed! Noise level is pretty high.
Loved it! Was a last minute birthday celebration for a friend, and they were nice enough to accommodate our group of 8. Amazing food.
Service was spotty as orders did not arrive together. Twice, items ordered were forgotten. Noise level was too high to enjoy conversation. Food was good. Atmosphere was interesting.
Beets. Amazing. Octopus tender and the best. Chicken cooked to perfection. Food comes out when ready so asked waitress to hold item so we could enjoy each. Carson a superb waitress. Be back soon
The dumplings, sticky buns, and shishito peppers were great!
Paris to Tokyo cocktail was good, definitely boozy.
Incredibly poor service. In addition to being slow, our server didn’t check on us once throughout our meal. Would’ve loved a second glass of wine but no one ever asked. It was restaurant week and they were very clearly slammed.
My favorite place in the Pearl! During my visit to San Antonio, I came here three days in a row!!!
The Ceviche Verde is to die for. El Lomo Saltado was so flavorful and worth the wait. Tapioca dessert was creamy and delicious, with fresh strawberry and mango, and it combined perfectly with the passion fruit sherbet. To top it all, all drinks are outstanding! Caipirinha like no other, and Pisco Sour on point! Way to go Chef Geronimo and your whole crew!!!
Fabulous food! The portion sizes for the appetizers were on the small side for the price, but they were delicious! We sat in the back dining room and it was so quiet and cozy. The server was knowledgeable and attentive. We had a wonderful evening!
Great food. Restraunt was freezing.
Lunch for 2. Service was impeccable and the food was fresh and delicious. I tried the Bento box lunch and it was great to get a sample of 5 or 6 items. We tried the cebiche appetizer. Nicely prepared sauce as the underlay to fresh sashimi style fish. If you like tuna, you definitely have to try it.
Great tasting dishes on the restaurant week dinner courses, very filling also. We waited a very long time between items in each course, so it isn’t a quick experience. The price was in my expensive date night range. That is without any drinks, still over $100.
Service was great. We love the Pearl so atmosphere was awesome. Booths are really close but it allows for meeting people as you wait for meal. We did have to send a dish back but the food and deserts we had were amazing. Will definitely be dining again!
Very good fusion menu combining Latin and Japanese flavors. Good vegetarian choices as well. The ceviche with authentic Peruvian flavors is the highlight of the menu.
Anniversary dinner. Our server, Dani, was awesome.
The food is overrated. We had the fried yuca for an appetizer. My husband had the tuna and hamachi sashimi and I had the bento box. The fried yuca was fine - the dipping sauces not inventive. The sashimi came in six pieces - three of each kind. Very small portions and expensive roughly $3/slice and each slice was maybe 1”x1.5”x0.25.” My husband didn’t think it was fresh as it upset his stomach afterwards. My bento box consisted of empanada, kale salad, ahi tuna salad, chicken with corn salsas over rice. Empanada and kale salad were okay, Ahi tuna didn’t seem fresh, and the chicken was very salty. I don’t think we will go back.
Best Octopus ever and I have been around the world; being from Spain I do appreciate the excellent cooking of a tender and delicate taste of octopus.
Food was great as was the general service. However, after being asked if we would like to order something to start, was surprised and disappointed when our entire order (ceviche, salad, beets, chaufa) came out essentially at once.
The food was awesome, our server Brittian was outstanding, and the drinks were so yummy. Totally coming back! Went on a Saturday and my sisters and I are still taking about the food today!
Love the fusion between Peruvian and Japanese cuisine.
Botika is perfect if you like sushi and some non traditional dishes. The menu is unlike any other in SA. If you're looking for burgers or tacos this isn't the place, but if you want to experience high quality seafood (and other protein) this is the place. Easy access in the Pearl
Loved our waiter- very informative and suggested items that matched our palette. I appreciate when the waiter knows their menu and can ask questions to help us reach a decision. Cocktails were excellent and the food was hot with fresh ingredients. I would recommend if you want something different and not the normal dish you find in San Antonio. Atmosphere is lively and the outside area is great for people watching.
Botika is consistently outstanding. The food flavors and quality are exceptional and when coupled with solid service, it’s tough to beat this restaurant. Well done!
Everything was AMAZING!
Great atmosphere and service. Food was delish and on point. Will come again!
We really enjoyed our visit for a birthday celebration on Sat 7/27/19. Our waiter Dorian was very knowledgable and attentive. We ordered a myriad of dishes that came out as they were completed so we all (6 if us) got to eat a little of everything. The peach cobbler and cookies with coffee sorbet desserts were delectable.
Food selection was unique and well prepared. The waiter took time to explain the items and provided recommendations.was. visiting from California and will return
Our server Luis was awesome! Very attentive and made sure we were aware of menu changes as they transitioned into happy hour. Food was fresh and delicious!
Wonderful food and service! Such creative and delicious food!
We went for brunch on Sunday. It’s right in the heart of the Pearl district, right around the Farmers Market. The steamed buns was amazing, first time having them. Great food. Great area. Great experience!
Great appetizers and drinks. The meals were large. I thought my food was too salty.
The food was incredible. I will definitely return and recommend to anyone who wants to try a good fusion restaurant.
Food was just "ok". I think it could be more inventive. The music playing in the background needs an update, as the selection was reminiscent of a mix I would have heard at a TGIFridays. The service, while courteous, was amateurish. This place glimmers with promise, but needs a good polish.
