Very great environment, and the food was fabulous!! The seared sablefish is little bit salty, and the radish that come with it is salty as well. But overall great flavour and the rib eye is so tender. Love the Espresso Martini #2. The restaurant comes alive around 6:30. It got a little noisy when there’s a large group sit next to you and the lady just keep laughing so loud. :) anyway, botanist is a great place. Although the price is a little high, I would definitely go back once more.
Had Sunday brunch at The Botanist yesterday. Extremely disappointed with the meal. I would expect a $28 Eggs Benedict to be something a little more special.
There were 3 guests in our party. We all ordered coffee. Each of use received an individual French Press Pot. Of course, the coffee got cold between pours. Why would server not suggest we get one Press at a time to avoid cold, wasted coffee!??
I have had many better brunches at FAR lower prices. Botanist - at least for brunch - is utterly disappointing and exorbitantly priced.
Nice layout and a good use of space. Definitely paying to “be there” than for the good food.
I received a strong recommendation from a friend so decided to try Botanist for a long catch up mid-week lunch with a dear friend.
- The space and ambiance was fabulous- warm light, colour palette,open space, creative decor and most importantly - quiet enough to have a great conversation.
- The service was excellent - warm, real, not too intrusive, attentive
- The food was elegantly plated and creative. The mushroom and polenta dish was unique and delicious in texture and flavour.
- A few things for improvement: our bread squares were dry. The mussels were overcooked, which I would not expect at this price point. The carrot salad was smokey and wonderful however burrata was runny and not best quality.
A hard review to write as we enjoyed many aspects of our experience. To be fare we did not experience a broad range of dishes and I'll definitely try again!
My girlfriend and I went to Botanist for our anniversary, and were very pleased with our experience. As soon as you enter the resturant the staff are there to greet you and make you feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. The meal itself exceptional, everything was delicious, and the fresh. I would recommend Botanist to anyone looking to try one of the best dining establishments that Vancouver has to offer.
I like the new ambiance of the restaurant
One of Vancouver’s top new restaurants in the beautiful Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel we have been about six times and really enjoed each visit!
We loved the food, wine and cocktails in a beautiful dining room setting.
The vibe is hip and cool but comfortable and the food looks amazing and tastes even better!
We experimental cocktails at the bar before dinner and then hit the lounge for a night cap and great tunes to close off a special night!
Can't wait to go again!

We were impressed with the quality and originality of all the dishes, starting with the bread and finishing with the deserts.
We were in town for Easter weekend and reserved a table at Botanist for their Easter brunch. Very cool midcentury vibe, plus all the plants made it a fun and airy space. The service was fantastic--we felt very cared for by what felt like a sincerely kind staff. There was a no rush feel about it, so we were able to take our time finishing our tea after we finished eating. The menu was good--but my husband's meal was phenomenal. He had the "sablefish waffle". You might want to know what that is! It's hard to describe but let's just say something called "potato foam" was involved. SO TASTY! Little touches like asking me if I wanted a virgin version of the cocktail they provided with the meal really meant something to me. Most restaurants don't automatically offer that. And no, I'm not pregnant so it wasn't obvious why I wasn't drinking--she just asked when I said no thank you to the cocktail. SO APPRECIATIVE!
I can't say enough good things about Botanist. The menu is superb - thoughtful, beautifully arranged dishes that come together in a perfect symphony of flavors. I have been here twice now and can't wait to go back. The service is impeccable. Yes, it may be slightly higher in price than a normal night out - but you get what you pay for!

Super amazing! Amazing staff and food, some other tables where the “need to be seen “ crowd. Asking our server to take multiple pictures of them etc. super silly. And rude. But the restraint it’s self was great!!
A beautiful lunch to celebrate a special occasion. Jacquie and Josh were the most amazing hosts... I highly recommend the experiential cocktail with Josh. It will change your life.
I really wanted to love this place. The attention to detail in all the decor is beautiful, and the service was good (though we did order three items and he only brought two of the three, so maybe he really wasn’t paying attention..), but the food is just really not that special. I’ve had better sable fish and steak.. well, pretty much anywhere else in Vancouver. The lunch menu leaves a lot to be desired in terms of selection too. I think too much time has been spent on the aesthetics and not enough on the food. We didn’t have cocktails, though the menu looked really good. But can a restaurant sustain itself in such a big space on just cocktails and nice details? Doubtful.
I love the oatmeal! Always enjoyed it. This time it was not hot enough. It was only like warm. I still enjoyed it but found it to be inconsistent this time around. They also were out of pistachios....which is one of the best parts of the oatmeal. So they substituted with candied pecans...a little too sweet but still ok.
The service was outstanding. Our server knew the menu and the wine list well. Food was delicious and healthy.
Beautiful space, open and bright. The service team were impeccable. Our server was present and light-hearted, helpful and very nice, knows how to connect with a customer.
We found top-quality ingredients (from wagyu beef to buratta and fruits). I ordered the Wagu gurger which was delicious, but bun maybe a bit tough for such a delicate type of beef, 10/10 on fires.
The menu is somewhat confusing in layout but what a great design and feel. The items are mixed together, the sections in the menu refer to the source of food (I think) rather than the course so you would find an appetizer in between 2 main courses, which for some may be confusing.
The cocktail was delicious but a bit too smoky in aroma.

Went here for a family brunch. It’s safe to say their choice may be limited but it is superb. An amazing space with an even better brunch. Service could have been a bit faster but all in all I’ll definitely be going back.
Nice ambiance and great service. Seemed very high class - guests were quite well-dressed for a weekday lunch. Food was well presented. Decent menu options. Flank steak was delicious - a bit on the chewy side but tasty. Accompaniments were really good. Portion was smaller than I expected so ordered some fries too. Wine list was good but seemed over-priced. Overall it was quite good and I hope to go back.
Food and service was exceptional. I've been to a lot of amazing restaurants in Vancouver and Botanist truly checks off all the boxes.
The ambient noise level (talking mostly) was too high.
The two of us originally decided to come to Botanist for a pre-dinner drink (Botanist laboratory drinks are definitely instagram worthy !) but decided that we were quite hungry by that time so we also decided to go for the tasting menu ("We'll take it from here", at 108 per person). One of us had the wine pairing to go with it as well (at 40 per person).
Botanist has great drinks (non-alcoholic versions of some of their cocktails are 8). The tasting menu is also delicious. We sat at the bar (offers full menu) and it was very comfortable given that we had such a long day of walking.
Given the price tag, but also the deliciousness, this is defintely for a special occasion.

Came for my birthday, the lady who welcomed us and took our coats is just lovely. We didn’t get the table by the garden we had requested right away, so the manager apologized and offered us complementary cocktails ( the poet cocktail was delightful) which reflects the attention they give to their customers and their high quality of service.
Brunch was good but I’d wished they had a more extensive lunch menu on the weekend. ( didn’t really feel like eating crab benedict, ragout or burger for my birthday). I would have appreciated something more special and sophisticated, perhaps I should have reserved for the dinner instead. The pineapple desert was delicious and very creative. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Overall it was a joyful experience.

A feast for all the senses.
Service is top notch. Food is well portioned and attention to detail is an obvious priority. Timing is on point. The lamb is very tender but the seafood is the best. The beet salad is not only beautiful but also delectable. You will not be displeased if you choose the eatery for a special occasion.
I can’t say enough good things about this place! Food was exceptional, service terrific and a beautiful room to showcase it all. Will definitely be back soon for the pineapple dessert!
Came for my boyfriend’s 25th birthday and it exceeded our expectations. The staff were all incredibly friendly and the guitarist set the mood just right. Loved the open kitchen concept and the food was delicious. A little bit on the pricier side but worth it for a special occasion!

Great meal, excelent service. Ask to be sat in the garden if you are a couple. We highly recommend the 'let's take it from here' menu.

Friendly staff and excellent food. Did the tasting menu and every course was great! The restaurant takes care of every little detail, including a handwritten birthday card to my wife signed by the staff!
Botanist serves up some of the best food I've ever had. We had the duck breast and the sable - both of which were fabulous.
The food is exceptional...we had the scallops and octopus to start, followed by the butter poached lobster and seared sablefish. Finished off with cinnamon rice pudding and Meyer lemon polenta cake. I would highly recommend this place to friends/family. Great service as well. Looking forward to enjoying another dinner there...maybe lunch next time?
First - make sure to stop and have an "Experience Cocktail" at the bar before sitting down to dinner! We chose to have the "Take it from Here" tasting menu - was absolutely incredible and worth every penny!!
