First time here. Was definitely not disappointed and will certainly return!
My wife and I both had the egg bennys The hollandaise sauce was too salty for our liking.
Christmas lunch for.5 of us. Service was super slow. Super super slow. Order wasn’t taken for 40 minutes of being seated.
Usually service is great and food awesome. We asked for bread a couple of times before it coming at 20 min in. 5 of us split one bun then waited another 20 for another serving of bread. Sooo hungry we filled up on bread.
Our meal arrived one hour and 10 after arrival.
All good was great quality as expected but the staging of food could have been better scheduled.
The food was really exquisite. Plating was the key and the taste were very well refined
Had a lovely evening, great service, great wine and great food.
The staff did a nice touch in giving a lovely signed birthday card. However food was a disappointment. My main was very salty. The meal was definitely not value for money ,not to forget hotel parking is pretty pricey too. Will not be going back.
The menu was short and to-the-point (always good for people who can’t decide what to get). Of the options, the Cavatelli was one of the best pastas I’ve had in a while - I recommend trying that. The food was a little on the salty sode, but I tend to eat really bland food, so that might have just be me. The service was all right but I felt that our server was trying to push us to try this and that; and when she saw that we weren’t going to order a lot, she just kind of ignored us and came once to give the food and once to pick up the food. She didn’t even look at us in the eyes. The person who helped us with our bill was, on the other hand, extremely friendly and kept up small talk when it was getting awkard waiting for the card to print the receipt.
First off - I have never been disappointed by this restaurant and the atmosphere and food is totally worth the money.
Second - as I’m waiting for my clothes to be reviewed at a consignment, my “review”:
I have had good luck with timing and the way staff have accommodated requests for a quieter seating experience - which is what I always look for.
It’s hard to find a reliable restaurant that has the competence for celiac safe cooking practices so I’m glad this place exists and fulfills this.
I wish the serving staff was just a tad more lacks seeming. I’m not sure how to give an opinion for this but as a 34 yr old professional who looks 20, and feels 50... I could use less “sir” in the communication, as we are all equals.
Sometimes I feel like I’m treated as some kind of royalty and it’s a bit overkill. It is a bit strange feeling.
Pretentious isn’t the right word because the staff are awesome and do not behave like robots but my vocabulary sucks right now - hopefully that conveys a bit of what I’m trying to explain.
I will highlight the worst experience I’ve had was accidentally Charlie horsing myself against the fazioli piano and thinking about the physical pain and about if I had (which I didn’t) damage the piano, how I would have find a mortgage to pay it off.
Lastly - in short, nothing sucks about this place.
I ordered the crab & avocado eggs benedict expecting a decent amount of crab for the price they charge. I honestly think it should not cost $29 for that breakfast. I’ve been there twice for dinner with my husband and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. All my girlfriends weren’t that impressed with their breakfast and they all thought it’s overpriced. I will not go back there for brunch.
Botanist is one of my favourite restaurants and we are never disappointed with the food and service. The tasting menu in particular is always inventive and delicious. As well, the sommeliers are fantastic.
Friends Christmas dinner
The food was absolutely delicious
Our waiter was really good. We ordered a lot for brunch but he staggered it so we don’t feel overwhelmed.
I wish there were more options for Sunday brunch. Few options from main entree’s.
Brioche French Toast was the highlight of our meal.
Good food, great wine. Ambience was fun and lively. I wasn't blown away by the food considering the price but it was pretty good
GREAT burger! Makes the perfect lunch outing. Interesting design and location.
Dinner was excellent. Lobster and Sturgeon were both exceptional. Presentation of the food was beautiful. Service and ambiance was lovely. An excellent experience!!
The service is excellent, with very unique menu and amazing cocktails. If you are looking for exceptional service and high quality dining, look no further than the Botanist.
Went for a birthday dinner. We were a little disappointed that we couldn’t order their experimental cocktails where we had been seated which was one of the reasons we chose the restaurant. Food was good, drinks were delicious.
That was one of the best meals we have ever had - every course was exquisite - the tasting menu was very well designed. Outstanding food, very friendly and efficient staff.
The food is over the top, great staff, beautiful everything 😃 no doubt this is one of the best restaurants in Vancouver 🙏🙏
The service was very friendly and attentive. The cocktails are unique and wonderful. Our meals were artistically presented and the flavors were phenomenal. We look forward to coming back soon
It was absolutely amazing. The only complaint would have to be that there was a family with 2 small children to that were crying and whining. I believe in such an elaberant restaurant there should be maybe a designated section for families away from guests that r trying to have a romantic evening.
Décevant! Service lent, mais agréable. Cuisine sans saveur autre que trop salée. Mauvais rapport qualité-prix.
I love Botanist and generally have a really good time but my girlfriend wanted to change her order to the tuna special of the day instead of the pasta. The pasta still came as a misunderstanding but she enjoyed it anyways!
Fantastic food and ambiance! Gorgeous plating and cooked to perfection!
LOVE EVERYTHING!! Coming from someone who never writes a review.
Great Neighbourhood Restaurant
An absolutely fantastic restaurant. Amazing food, 1st rate ambience, and excellent, excellent service.
My husband’s birthday—Cory Beetham pulled out all the stops along with the chef, sommelier and our server to make it a very memorable occasion! We really enjoyed the taster menu, and loved the choices Cory made for us—
We think it was our most favourite restaurant experience to date!!! Thank you all so very much 😍
Good food, very slow service.
Beautiful, delicious food. Our table was tucked away giving us lots of space and privacy. Will come back!
Such a lovely experience there spent the night with my girl friend to celebrate her birthday. 🥂
A hidden gem in Vancouver, I love this place. The service is always excellent and the cocktails are delicious. Pricey but well worth it.
We came for a birthday and had the tasting menu with wine pairing.
Wine pairing was great and sommelier was very enthousiastic in sharing her passion and knowledge about the wine she was introducing to us.
The dessert was very disappointing compared to the rest of the menu dishes.
Not gourmet and definitively missing some love In the taste and texture and i was expecting at least a candle 🕯 on it.
The food is always exquisite at Botanist. Beautiful menu. Everybody at the table loved their food.
I would definitely NOT bring a picky eater here - I would also pass on bringing any little ones. Botanist is a mature, refined space with unique delicious food!
Excellent service with smiles all around. The quality of the food was perfect. Generous portion and the flavors were perfect.
Cant wait ro come back and try dinner
The breakfast was average for the price they charge.
Service was good and similar to average restaurants.
You can get the same quality dishes half a price at other brunch places in Vancouver.
My fiancé and I went to brunch on Saturday. The food was delicious (which I was expecting) but I wasn't expecting the staff to be so considerate and friendly! I had the brioche french toast with dulce de leche, caramelized banana, amarant, my fiancé had the wagyu beef burger with bleu cheese on a pretzel bun. We also had their croissants. All the croissants were good but our favourite was the almond. I also liked that when one ordered coffee, each individual got their own french press.
