Great food. Especially the lobster bisque!
Ordered the sea bass which was a little too sweet for me yet the fish was vdd super fresh and d the asparagus great.
We felt the food was way overpriced. It was good, but not worth co
I got back.
The food wasn't as good as the price would represent. The martinis that we ordered seemed very weak. The high point were the desserts and that is the reason for the 3 rating.
Love the main entrees especially the shrimp dishes. Big beautiful crisp shrimp on long oblong plates. Liked the plate presentation. Only cons were that they were out of 3 entrees on menu which we weren’t told until we went to order. No bread on table and small appetizer portions.
My wife and I were very excited to finally be able to have dinner at Boston's Fish House. We even had our Daughter here visiting from Arizona and she, too, was excited. But the excitement came to a realization that Boston's wasn't ready for us, nor any of the other folks dining there that Friday evening. Don't get me wrong, the food was fabulous. However, my Wife and Daughters soup was cold (literally cold) when it came out. They had ordered the lobster bisque. I had the clam chowder and it came to me warm. Not hot, but not nearly as cold as theirs. Our Server took it back to the kitchen immediately, thankfully. Unfortunately, it then took literally 25 minutes for it to come back hot. 25 minutes. So, we didn't eat our soups at the same time. Then, after then finished the soup. Our main course didn't arrive until another 25 minutes after our soup dishes were cleared..Our Daugther is a Chef, so she was timing it. She's also diabetic, so she was watching her sugar levels as we were waiting for the food.
Boston's will be great when they get the kitchen straightened out. Tivoli has GREAT choices for dining. This too will be great, but make sure you ask first, "How long will it take for us to be served our meal?"
One last note. I still tipped high. Our server was extremely helpful and we understand he doesn't cook, nor is he responsible for the heat of or dishes. These are Covid times and my wife and I completely understand that...We try hard to go and support the local businesses and restaurants, even though our dollars are tight. But go at the pace you can handle to make sure that when things do, hopefully, return to normal you'll be ready and people will love you.
Again, the food...once it arrived...was great.
The restaurant is ok , but for the cost there are better alternatives
We were seated fast but our server where nowhere to be found after we ordered our drinks. 20 minutes passed and one of the managers came over and told us that the servers had a miscommunication on who handles our side of the room and asked if we wanted drinks, we had to tell her what we ordered 20 minutes ago. Ordered appetizers and when it came about a minute later they were about to serve our entree and we haven’t even stayed our appetizers yet. The first entree they brought out was taken back but I have a feeling the same plate just sat under the heating lamp for 30 minutes and served along with the rest of the entree !
Great service, great outside dining area and excellent food!
BEST SEAFOOD in town for sure!
SERVICE IS AMAZING AND decor is fabulous!
A MUST TRY even though I would like to keep it a secret!
Such a pleasant surprise to enjoy a authentic New England cuisine. Will defiantly come back.
I ordered the swordfish. Big mistake. Was like rubber and totally inedible. We had a brownie with ice cream for dessert. The brownie was hard and definitely not fresh. Now I can say I ate at Boston fish house twice in one night. My first time and my last.
Horrible! Definitely not worth what it costs to eat there. The service was poor because they were understaffed, not because they weren't trying. The menu was limited, very limited because it was Easter. I could have tolerated both but when the food came out (all at once, appetizers and salads and entrees) the quality of the food was horrible. I will never go back and will never recommend anyone try them.
We were shown our table.
After being seated we were offered water and other drinks ... all good. Starters were ordered and served, all were tasty.
Then the mains arrived, the waiter bringing those over expected us to “make space” ... move the dirty dishes and cutlery out of the way. On a small table that is impossible. He eventually figured out that it is a better idea to clear the dirty plates and cutlery away before serving the entrees. Duh!
Then, a waitress asks if I would like to keep my dirty cutlery and use it for my entree. Why!
My entree, tuna, was VERY overcooked ... I sent it back. The replacement was marginally better, but TINY.
At over $230 this restaurant is really pricey and service and food quality is sadly lacking.
This was our second visit, but probably our last ....
Visited on Easter. We were all looking forward to the expansive seafood menu, as displayed on the restaurant website. However, upon arrival, we were handed a very abbreviated menu. Disappointing.
Sea bass with parpadella was great. Best cooked white fish I've had in a long time.
Lobster ravioli was good as well.
The fish I ordered was very good but too sweet the spinach and shrimp cocktail was good. The linguine and white clam was very different I had a weird flavor and my husband actually did not feel good after eating it. He said the clams tasted old didn’t didn’t care for the sauce and there was no garlic in it.
Food was good, but nothing special and overpriced for the portion size. Both soups were very salty with the clam chowder being just slightly over salted to the lobster bisque which was very salty. My shrimp entrée came with 4 shrimp while my son's seabass pasta dish included 2 shrimp along with a nice sized piece of fish. The cedar plank salmon was very forgettable and also small. Overall we expected more.
I was excited to try this place! Our friends arrived before us and they were seated right away (we did have reservations). Ordered our drinks and I like to have my drink before my food just to relax and talk, well that didn't happen. The bartender was behind and we didn't get our drinks until after we were done our apps.
We ordered dinner, our salads came out, mine with the I correct dressing, and we maybe had 2 bites and then the entree was there, except mine. Everyone was served there food expect me. I waited about 10 mins and a manager came over and asked how things were I said i don't have my food, he then ran to the kitchen and I had it within a few minutes.
The service was more of an issue than the food. The food was good but nothing to write home about. We had scallops as a app, they were not really seared but they did taste good. I had the coconut crushed sea bass and it was cooked perfect except the coconut was burned on the outside. My husband had the branzino and the sauce it was in was tart, my friend had surf and Turf with scallops, his scallops were seared and looked a lot better than our app and my other friend had the salmon and she enjoyed it.
I personally do not recommend this place, for me the service was not good and the food was just ok.
I normally take pics of my food but I was just so disappointed about the service I didn't bother.
The food was very good quality. There are many seafood dishes to choose from. I thought the lobster bisque was excellent. I also tried the clams and oysters rockefeller, which were tasty, and I had the branzino for my entree which was delicious. The prices were a bit high, but for the quality of food you're getting it is worth it. The service needs some improvement. They were not that busy and our waiter was slow getting drinks to us and was not as attentive as he should have been. Eating on the patio was lovely.
So jive to be back inside to enjoy great seafood and service.
The quality of the food and service did not substantiate the prices. I do not think I will return or recommend.
The place was great. The service was great.
Best chowder! This place goes out of its way to make your experience perfect. Owner came out to chat and check on our evening. WE WILL BE BACK!
Not quite ready for the amount of customers overall a restaurant to try
Delish and fresh seafood. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked. Kari’s service was excellent. The manager, Tara, came by to chat and make sure all was going well. The dining area is very open and airy. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend it!
The wife & I had an awesome time. The lobster ravioli is to die for. & a major plus is the drinks are great.
New restaurant in Tivoli Village. Nice atmosphere but not the best experience. Bar and wine selection is mediocre. Food was disappointing - menu was excellent but meals were mostly tasteless - certainly not unique or savory. Over all it was good but we are not planning a return anytime soon.
The reservation was for outdoor seating, but we were seated indoors. The food quality was average at best. Our entrees were brought out within two minute of our salads so they became cold by the time we ate them and the sauces were broken. The waiter offered to “fire” them for us, which he admitted was just reheating the already cold food. The bar manager did very little to rectify the hurried service by offering things we were disinterested in.
Very slow service. Was put on a cold patio where food got cold. Small portions for the price charged.
Fantastic food and great service! We will be back again.
Waiters were too attentive. Multiple waiters came to our table. Then they hovered. Food was just okay. Prices were extremely high.
Lobster bisque was to die for. So was the scallop small plate - scallops were huge, well cooked and very flavorful. Swordfish unfortunately left much to be desired as was the lobster mac n cheese.
In the future, would come for the bisque and a few small plates - would skip the main courses.
Both dishes (swordfish and red snapper) were very bland. Chowder was mostly potatoes and fried calamari was not tasty. Definitely not worth the prices.
Great space but the food was awful and the drink prices were obscene.
Excellent service and great food
From the appetizers to the dessert, the food was impeccable!
Fantastic burger and very nice inside. Definatly be going back.
Menu is fantastic.
This place was Amazing and my very favorite now in town ! Love it’s location and the food was Terrific! Gina Argento
