This is my fourth time at this restaurant. While I have been pleased with the service and the food, the atmosphere has declined. The bar is extremely loud and I had a hard time holding a conversation with my table. I have sat away from the bar area and haven’t had this issue. In the future, I will request a seat away from the bar and would suggest others do the same.
The food was awesome, as was the ambience. This is one of my favorite spots in Boston.
The lobster roll was very small but tasted good. The Clam Chowder was outstanding. The menu on Open Table should specify when lunch end and dinner begins. I was planning on ordering app ne of the dinner entrees but I was too early.
Excellent food, cocktails, and service. We were seated in the bar area which was exceptionally loud. We had to shout to be heard but the rest of our experience was great.
Small portion sizes, especially in lobster roll but it was pretty good iverakl
My lunch, a salmon sandwich, was delicious. Service was somewhat mayhemic, but our server was very nice. I'd say it's a typical downtown Boston place to have a sitdown lunch. I thought it was a little pricey, but what isn't these days?
Terrible service. Bland food. Had to ask for salt/pepper.
Great spot to eat and drink with friends!
Love the live music and sports on TV.
Bloody Mary Bar is amazing!!
Had a lovely Mother's Day brunch here- the Bloody Mary bar is so fun. Wish that they had extra horseradish to add in but I'm just being picky. It's well stocked. My mom loved her smoked salmon benedict and loved the band playing too, so that's a win!
The food was great and the staff was terrific. We’ll visit again next time we’re in Boston.
Over priced and we were treated like second class citizens. We were seated in the upstairs back room when there were plenty of tables downstairs and even in the front of the upstairs. And this was WITH reservations, which weclearly didn’t need. Disappointing to say the least
Best martinis in Boston! The burger is pretty good too!
We've lived in the Boston Area for 5 years and have gone to BPH every year for Mother's Day Brunch and we've never had a bad meal/experience. Also, the service has been consistently great. We most recently sat in Siena's section and she made an already outstanding meal even better.
Sure it’s hard to escape the noise in the restaurant. How else, though, are you going to know the crowd is enjoying themselves.
It was a great spot with a unique interior. Food and menu were good for casual dining. Great bar vibe. I wish there were more regular dining space and less high boys.
Have now been to this lovely spot several times - spouse, family, business associates - for lunch and dinner.
The food is novel, fun, and tasty; the service is excellent; the value is great. Sorry, guys - the place is just too loud! At dinner it was oppressive. Thank goodness my last visit was at lunch, when I would not have thought we needed to be blasted by music (but the management apparently thinks their guests should not be able to talk to each other) and we could blessedly dine outside, which was a very nice meal, but maybe out last for a while.
Thank you OpenTable. We were walking around Boston trying to find a place to eat and came upon the Bostonia restaurant and tried to walk in but without a reservation the wait was going to be 45-60 minutes. I then went on my trusty OpenTable app to find another place to eat and saw I could make an OpenTable reservation and be seated immediately. I made the reservation and then walked back in and we were seated in less than 5 minutes.
OK, now to the restaurant...the food was very good and our server was very nice and attentive. The Boston baked beans were very good. Would definitely eat there again.
This a frequent brunch spot for my friends and I. Sundays they have live music, but not super loud. Gives a great vibe. Wait staff is super attentive. And they're bloody mary bar might be one of the best in the city. Food is always delicious too!
We were in town for a quick getaway and truly enjoyed Bostonia Public House. The bloody mary bar is a must!
Lovely location, service was great, we were there for brunch, donuts to die for. My husbanded loved the Bloody Mary bar. I live music was excellent!
Had a great experience! Our server was very friendly and had great recommendations. I do have to say it was a bit too loud with the live band but we had a great time regardless.
I have been here twice now and both times, no matter how crowded, the service has always been excellent and the servers completely attentive. The food here is amazing and so are the drinks. This is one of my favorite places in Boston!
Excellent service ad the food was delicious. It all came in a bowl and the presentation was first class. Everyone commented on the quality of the food. We were at the back near the kitchen which was quieter than at the front
This was my second time visiting the establishment. I brought a group of co-workers with me and we had no complaints. Our server was very knowledgeable and had several recommendations that the table enjoyed.
The food was delicious but the service was terrible, and I didnt like their drinks. I would go back for the food.
Fantastic brunch place! We loved the food, the Bloody Mary Bar was incredible! One of the highlights of our trip!
Incredible service and amazing love music. We will be back!
Sunday brunch here is a must. The bloody Mary bar is terrific and the food is so so so good. You cannot go wrong.
The staff was amazing- one of our party lost a gemstone from her ring while we were at dinner and the staff were very supportive in helping us find it. When the initial search came up empty, the manager turned up the house lights for our search and one of the front of house gentlemen found the stone a couple tables away!
Our waiter brought over a glass of champagne to celebrate!
We will definitely be back.
The food was just ok, wine list was all domestic. Again, there was nothing "bad" about the place, just not a highlight. It was like eating in a sports bar which was not what we were expecting.
Great place for a group of people, with delicious food and crazy Bloody Mary cocktails.
Wonderful creative and yummy brunch. Great coffee.
Prix-fixe lunch has a very good options. As starter try Roasted Garlic Hummus and then, Grilled Faroe Salmon. Food was delicious, service is reasonable.
Bartender was very attentive and pleasant. Drinks a little more $$ for the pour size. Friends from out of town had lobster rolls (of course), which were pretty skimpy. Waitress wasn’t very pleasant but overall had decent experience. With so many options in that area (Financial District) probably won’t rush back.
My steak dinner was better than at any steakhouse. The potato was a cute little square layered with cheese-delicious! Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in my martini.
Very nice place service was outstanding a little too loud
Our dinner was good
I would go back
Loved the Bostonia - it was my first visit. WE came for Easter brunch and it was certainly hopping. Looks like a great place to meet for a drink or dinner date as well . I had the delicious frittata and potion was quite generous
Look forward to future visits!
Delicious Easter brunch with the family. Highly recommend table by the window with live music. Bourbon doughnuts and excellent service by Joe! Will come back next time in Boston.
Appetizers were All very good, however the entree’s did not stack up. Get the meatballs, salt n vinegar wings and the cheese plate. Entree’s were all good but for the price I expected more.
The restaurant is in a great location and has an eye catching interior. Great for drinks and apps.
The service was average. Waiter was attentive but hard to understand with the moderate background noise.
Absolutely will return to watch a game or meet friends at the bar.
Great food, service and ambiance. The live piano music is lovely and don’t forget the sweet potato donut holes for dessert.
We had great service and enjoyed our experience. The food and drinks were delicious. It was a nice but casual atmosphere which was perfect for us since we had three kids with us.
