Excellent, must try - great everything .. food, service , location
Right in the middle of downtown, close to everything good and the food was great.
So happy we found BPH! Clam chowder was beyond my expectations and the wings were just amazing! Came back the next day for brunch and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend the sweet potato doughnuts and the salty goose! Will recommend and will be back. Staff was on point as well.
Ok food. Downton tourist prices. Good service by our waiter, notsomuch by the hostess who seemed a little miffed that we showed up.
We made reservations and were seated right away. It is a bit loud. We enjoyed appetizers, (the wings were great), clam chowder (yum), scallops (delicious). Overall great experience!
Very expensive. Food only average. We were rushed.
The AC was a bit high so i kept my jacket on, but the food & service -terrific!
Visiting from Texas where hospitality is huge! We know that this is not the case in Boston, but it is disappointing in the service industry. Our group of 5 constantly felt like we were bothering the waiter. The food was delicious and so were the drinks. It just took time for our needs to be met. We needed an extra silverware and we waited for 15 minutes before I went to the bar to ask for one myself. Great food bad service.
I don’t know if I caught them on an off day. I’m not a review sort of person unless I feel compelled....I feel compelled lol. Our waiter was good and that’s about it. I didn’t necessarily feel welcomed from the moment we entered. My friend and I ordered the lobster roll with fries. The fries were overly salty and such a small amount...the lobster was over cooked and “chewy,” it did not taste fresh at all. I normally get my lobster roll from Eventide in Fenway (so good) considering the price point was similar I assumed I’d enjoy this one but I couldn’t finish eating it. The Brioche bun was good though. Our bill came out to about $70 plus tip for the rolls, fries and bottled water. I left unsatisfied and hungry.
The table, server and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. This could become our regular downtown Boston hangout.
Enjoyed our meal. A little busy at 930 when we went. Would recommend restaurant
Very nice, family friendly. It was good food a little pricey but not too bad
The waiter wasn’t the most joyous to be serving us. And I get that, but not he didn’t even crack a smile or give us an ounce of being personable. It was my birthday and one of the first times back in a restaurant given Covid, plus my parents were in town from out of state. I picked this place for the menu options of the lobster rolls to treat ourselves and they were good not great, subpar. The company I was with made the night special but considering that this review is for the restaurant, the place (food, service, ambiance from start to finish) sad to say, did not make my night.
Mixed opinions in our group. The pasta was good, the fish and chips were good...skip the lobster roll and the clam chowder. You can find much better lobster rolls and claim chowder elsewhere.
Great food & great service. It was LOUD and I didn’t like the tall chairs as I have a knee issue. we weren’t asked for a seating preference and it would have been so nice to have a regular table downstairs or outside rather than just being rushed upstairs upon arrival & not asked anything.
Reception was great. Quickly accomodated from outside to inside. Waitress started off strong, but then when trying to get the check she disappeared. We would have had another drink, but due to timing, we needed to to leave.
Would recommned and would try again!
I have visited this restaurant frequently and it has always been good. For this occurrence, we would have thought that for $18 extra for lobster on a salad, it would have been a larger portion.
We’re visiting Boston and I was told to try a lobster roll. I chose the hot one at my server’s suggestion (despite it being over 90F out!). Not sure how to compare it to others, but it was FULL of lobster, although I thought it was kind of dry. My daughter was very pleased with her veggie burger and fries.
Was a great place for dinner after exploring Boston.
The girls you check in with for your reservation we’re too busy gossiping to let our waitress know we were outside. End up waiting around 20 minutes to be greeted and given water. Our waitress was lovely and keep apologizing to us.
We had a delicious dinner here! Boys enjoyed burgers while I had a set of sides (Mac and cheese as well as the best creamed spinach ever). Only wish they had New Zealand wines!
Great service and great Bloody Mary’s
Fun atmosphere too
Great brunch. Awesome service. Would recommend.
Amazing food. So good that we came twice for brunch on our trip!
Great service! Would go back again. Outdoor seating was great too!
Our server, Alex, was excellent. He was attentive but we never felt rushed. Food was great. The restaurant music was a bit loud, so it was hard to hear Alex (he had a mask on, of course). Other than that it was a great!
3rd time in at BPH. Twice before for brunch. This time dinner before B's game with family. Stayed with lighter fare: an app, salads and lobster roll. All were good, wait staff and hostess vert attentive.
Excellent dining experience. Cocktails were delicious and the food, I had the crab crusted cod, was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to come back.
Food was disappointing. Clam chowder and mac and cheese were decent, brussels sprouts were not good. Too tangy/spicy.
Great food, music and service!
We ate burrata, cheese board, salmon, ribs and tiramisu. All excellent! We will come back !
While on holiday decided it visit for lunch. Great atmosphere, easy to get to, casual but elegant ambiance. Would return on every Boston visit.
It was a great dinner. The burger was so delicious.
We really enjoyed dining at Bostonian Public House as the atmosphere was lively, but not too noisy, the service was quick and friendly, and the food was sooo good! The lobster roll was perfect 😍
food was mediocre. chopped salad was abysmal. lots of carrots and broccoli. cheap curly lettuce. way too much to chew for a business lunch.
Great food, live music and great service every time we go!
I liked the staff flexibility on "preparing" a plate for our friends dog and giving us options for ours.
The food was delicious and the service was super friendly and helpful. My friend has a gluten allergy and our server gave her great info on what is safe for her, plus delicious recommendations.
Delicious brunch - avocado toast with beets and radishes was real tasty
