Very friendly staff Good neighborhood location. Menu a little sparse. Steak is okay but sea bass was excellent. For a neighborhood steakhouse it is good. The special group room and the bar may be its best features. If you need a table for 10-14 get the glass room.
Our first time there. Wonderful in every way, Very pleasant outdoor environment, very clean, food cooked perfectly and our waiter was the best. We will return and also recommend.
Sadly all food was under seasoned - even the chicken w mushroom risotto. The chicken was cooked perfectly at least even if risotto lacked flavor. Perhaps that’s the hint and their skill is in meat? Nice staff and, water notwithstanding (tiny glasses and they barely refill), ok service; fantastic outdoor decor. Decent wine menu.
It was such an enjoyable and lovely experience dining outside at Boston Chops. The food & drinks were delicious and service was outstanding!
The was fine. Nothing special. Style is a mix of classic steakhouse and French brassiere. Not a great value for the prices.
Great steaks, very nice appetizers as well. However the pork belly mac & cheese was disappointing. One small cut of pork belly placed in the center of the mac & cheese, that lasts about 2 bites and the remainder of the dish is underwhelming. Friendly staff overall a very nice experience
It took forever to get anything we ordered. From drinks to entree. We weren’t in a rush but we were starting to get hungry. Waiter was very nice and apologetic for the long waits. No explanation was offered nor did we expect one. If the hour and 45 minute rule is still in effect we definitely went well over two hours for dinner for two that included drinks, apps and entree. No deserts.
Waitress forgot things we ordered twice. Drinks took longer than food to arrive, and honestly I always considered this place to be more upscale, especially for the price, I was embarrassed for the restaurant when I went into the bathroom and it looked like a gas station bathroom with paper towels all over the floor and counter and felt and looked dirty. Don’t think I’ll be going back.
Great steaks, great service spoiled at the end by a surprise charge on the bill - kitchen appreciation fee.....really.
So kind. Called from the airport. We had our small dog traveling with us. They accommodated us with an outdoor table away from other patrons, brought water for the dog, seated us right away… Food is always fantastic, yet the special accommodation and service when we had been traveling was so appreciated. Thanks for the kindness, great service and fabulous food.
Outstanding service and food
Shocked to realize that the fillet mignon was choice grade. I can get that at Foodies. Insanely over cooked for any meat. My mother had the cauliflower steak pasta and it was extremely low caliber and flavorless. The calamari continues to disappoint. Not thrilled to see the up charge of five dollars per martini for being a martini and then blue cheese olives.
Beautiful ambience, service and manager were not very accommodating. Disappointing.
The service was good, but the food was somewhat of a letdown, especially given the price. The half lobster we ordered was very small given its $35 price. The 18oz dry-aged NY strip was very tough. However, the Eggplant Rollatini was delicious, and the asparagus was well seasoned and cooked. Overall, while the service was good, the food is extremely overpriced given its quality and quantity.
The food and service were phenomenal. However, I did care for the club/house music playing in the background. Given the sophistication of the experience, instrumental music (i.e. jazz, classical) would have been more appropriate and appreciated.
First time here. We ate outside. The outdoor space is nice but right on the busy street. They have heat lamps which was nice!
The food was good and reasonably priced. Get the popovers to start!
Service - 3, friendly but didn’t check back when food delivered, ask how it was…
Food - 0 nothing was good, love French onion soup… theirs was sweet and vinagary, look warm and served in crocks covered in spilled soup.
Wife’s filet ordered medium came out seared, bright red and cool in middle… had to call over someone to take it back to be revoked… my flank steak came out covered in course rock salt…barely touched it…. Wasn’t able to even grab anyone’s attention to get another. Buser was only one that even asked if it was OK as they cleared the plate, but didn’t say anything to anyone else.
Drink 4 - great bottle of wine (wine and the company of the love of my life still made for an enjoyable night :-)).
Ambiance 4 - cool place. Had a nice high top in the bar area. Good vibe.
Overall 1 to 2 - might be a good place to stop for a drink, but avoid a good steak meal. Not worth a second chance for us. Much better choices in seaport / south Boston (Davios, Ocean Prime, Del Friscos, Chop House are all great options).
Our favorite restaurant - celebrated 40th wedding anniversary. Special shout-out to Alison - continuing the tradition of outstanding waitstaff at BC!!!
Very tasty and delicious food. One of the best steaks I’ve had in Boston. Restaurant has a great contemporary feeling as opposed to a few of the more classic steakhouses in the city. Service was quick and consistent throughout the visit. Would go back again!
The restaurant is beautiful and the service was great. My son ordered the 80 dollar aged NY Strip medium and it was cooked poorly. The outside was medium but the inner part was rare. Sent back and it came back again rare in the middle. Sent back a 3rd time and same thing! Maybe the chef does not like to cook meat medium but that is how my son prefers it. So paid 80 dollar for a steak that he only ate 1/4 of. Disappointed in the steak to say the least. My sea bass was delicious!
Worse experience ever. Food was horrible. The filet mignon was tough and not cooked to requested specs. Everything we ordered was bad. We had to saw through the meat to eat it. The spicy broccoli was floating in water. Requested a Bacardi and coke and they didn’t tell us until after we sipped from our drink and noticed the difference in taste that they do not serve Bacardi. In closing the credit card reader was out of service so we had to wait or get cash which opted to do just to get out of their.
Finding parking can be difficult.
Outdoor seating was nice however the flies made it hard to enjoy the food & drinks.
Cocktails weren't balanced well, had to send a few back.
Food didn't taste good. The medium steak came back well done. The well done steak came back rubbery.
Our waiter was great, very knowledgeable which seemed to be the only good thing about the while experience.
First time customer and Chops did not disappoint! My sons had dined there a few weeks ago and said I definitely had to go! They weren’t wrong! Absolutely fantastic experience, from the greeting at the door to our server and the staff who took away our totally scraped clean plates!!!! I wish the noise level was a little lower, a bit hard to have conversation. Definitely will be a return customer!
Great atmosphere with a large variety of tasty menu items.
Very good food, staff and bar tenders.
Had a great time and the staff helped make it even better!
not bad for dine out Boston. We asked if bread was served, our waiter said yes, we have bread, brought out popovers- not bread- and then charged us for them!
Everything was good except the tuna tartare wasn’t flavorful like capital Grille. Our server Melanie was fun and amazing. Good wine list. Amazing macaroni and cheese.
Presentation was amazing and the service was great.
We came to Boston for our Honeymoon and I had made advance reservations at Boston Chops. First, we were greeted by two lovely folks at the door who showed us to our table. Then, we had the best service from our server, Melanie, who was both attentive and detailed but also gave us time to relax and savor our evening. And, the entire team was gracious and kind in recognizing our wedding/honeymoon.
We ordered the calamari appetizer, split the wedge salad and had the chilled oysters all of which were delicious! We ordered the Tomahawk Waygu bone in ribeye to share and the pork Mac n cheese. That steak literally melted in our mouths, it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We got the cream brûlée for dessert which was a great finish. We also enjoyed the Orange Crush cocktail. They make theirs with Bourbon which gives it more complexity and depth compared to others made w vodka.
We also had an emailed gift card as a wedding present and there were no issues with using it.
It was the perfect meal and the perfect night and we thank the whole team again for a wonderful experience.
Great food on the Dine Out Boston Prix Fixe menu!! Will definitely be back.
AC temperature was too cold
We sat outside and it was fabulous! Big shout out to Kelly for the amazing service. Brunch was delicious as well!
The weekend is not a good time to go to Boston Chop...
Service is great as usual, but the food quality is lower than weekday, we ordered medium well steak and when we cut it open, its raw inside. Also kitchen forgot our appetizer...
we liked this place a lot, maybe restaurant is short-handed but after pedantic.
Always THE best!!
The hosts was very rude when we ask for another table
The hostess has rude and curt. Acted like we were bothering her. Horrible first impression. Food was great.
Food was phenomenal, the steak was delicious as well as the sides. The service was amazing and our server was super friendly and on point.
Thank you for choosing Boston Chops! We greatly appreciate the positive feedback and look forward to seeing you again.
