Great service. Thanks Anthony!!
The bone marrow and 18 oz ribeye were incredible, the sides (mashed potatoes and mushrooms) were whatever.
Service was excellent and the wait staff did a great job
Fantastic service and food- definitely a must try!
Every time I go there it gets better. Will continue to dine here. The service is great. Great reception when you arrive and the waiters and bartenders are on point.
Great food and good service. A lot of children and that restaurant serves adults better than youngsters
Mothers Day Brunch was a bust... Food was fair pre-made crappy hotel food.. for the price I expected much better....Service was good until they just forgot about us toward the end of our meal.... They were very nice and apologized but come on for a five star price????? Would not go back ever again
Mother’s Day brunch, fantastic as always!
We've been here several times and love it here! We usually get the bone marrow app, but this time got the supplement with our steaks instead. Will go back to the app in the future though since that is served with toast (which we prefer). Hanger steak frites, rib eye to share, and several sides/apps were all delicious. Tuna tartare was also spot on.
Overall wonderful experience, but our waitress wasn't the most with our party of 3. My brother happens to be a sommelier, so yes he took a little more time with the wine list, but we spent as much on wine as we did on food... So I would say it was worth her while. She seemed VERY annoyed with us and had no problem hiding it. Everyone else we encountered-- back waiters, floor manager, etc. were thoroughly pleasant though.
They didn’t a great job accommodating a party of 11. It took awhile to prepare our food, but when it came out no one was disappointment. Great ambiance and delicious food. I highly recommend this place.
Boston Chops has never let me down! We were celebrating my son's college graduation and everything was perfect!
Came here based on reading a brunches of Boston review. I ordered what they had recommended (the hash) and my boyfriend had the French toast. We also got the complimentary sticky buns, which were delicious! Neither of us were crazy about our main dishes but other people’s food looked good so maybe we should’ve ordered differently. The hash came with a poached egg and cheese curds on top but there was only about a tablespoon of curds & sauce on top of an entire pan of fries. Most of my fries were left untouched by anything on top and it was a bit under seasoned. There was plenty of meat, which was good, but definitely would’ve wanted a little more from a $16 meal.
We also waited about 20 min after being seated before our waitress came by but she was very friendly and attentive after that and we were outside on a nice day, so really no complaints. Great ambiance, decent outdoor seating, and friendly staff. Would go back, but would definitely order something else.
The steak was fantastic. I had the filet mignon. I could cut it with a butter knife. The steak was full of flavor and well seasoned. This is my second time here and it was better this time around. The first cocktail I ordered was great, but the second one (same thing) was just okay. It took the waiter a while to come over and he was not very attentive (like other waiters). He was not mean or rube, just not attentive. I think that may have been due to the restaurant being crowded.
Overall, I would definitely go back for the steak.
Accommodated many reservation adjustments and initially had knowledgeable attentive server. Some time after starters plates arrived both server and drinks person stopped regular check-ins. This meant continuous requests of others for remainder of night. Wanted to continue our celebratory dinner, which was noted when made reservations and acknowledged by server, however decided to ask hostess and owner for check due to non-existence server never returning. Food was good and trendy - braised Brussels sprouts, bone marrow, tuna tartare, Mac 'n cheese, meat (horseradish, chimichurri butter) sauces - complimented wide selection of meats and fish. Overall if in area and other steak houses unable to accommodate group try BOS Chops. Otherwise find alternative restaurant.
Table for 5, had the royal tower and steaks all around. the bone in rib eye was perfectly prepared. Nice wine selection. Service was attentive but not overly so. My guests were impressed with the steaks as we had pretty much one of every class. Don't miss the tongue app, not at all what you expect.
Our server was not very attentive and was aloof. She forgot parts of our order. Otherwise the food was very good and it's a reliably good restaurant.
Went to celebrate a birthday for Sunday brunch and it couldn't have been better! Great service, great food, and of course, great Bloody Mary's! I would highly recommend!
Great place, amazing food and loved everything about it. Service after 9pm was not so jolly. The short rib is to die for however!
Excellent steaks. Cool, unique cocktail list.
I am a long time patron of Boston Chops and have taken many friends and family members over the years. I have recommended Boston Chops to numerous people. I have spent the past four New Years Eves at Boston Chops.
Tonight was an exception to the usual excellent food and service that has been the norm over the past several years. Tonight was exceptionally bad. To be brief I ordered Sea Bass. I had to send it back because it was cold and undercooked. Unfortunately it came back the same way the second time. To be fair, they did remove it from our bill. But that’s not the point. I expect more from this establishment. I started with calamari that was mostly fried pickles and peppers and a few pieces of actual calamari. They removed that from the bill also. Again, not what was expected from this establishment. Not to mention we waited an inordinate amount of time for both the appetizers and the main course.
One person in my party asked for chimichurri sauce with his steak, twice he was brought bernaise and was told they looked similar. He opted for pepper corn just to ensure he got what he wanted.
Empty, dirty glasses lingered on the table and after repeated requests to the runner to remove them, we took them to the bar ourselves. All the while the alleged manager on duty stood watching but not acting.
All in all I/ we were quite disappointed in our experience and after many years of loyal patronage I will think twice about going back to Boston Chops or even recommending it to others.
In my opinion the owners are putting all of their time and energy into opening their sister restaurant downtown at the expense of declining service and food quality at this location. They seem to care less about the neighborhood and patrons that helped contribute to their success in this location. It’s a shame.
The food, particularly the meat, is a quality product, perfectly cooked and (if you don't order the high-end cuts) modest in price, given the frites and arugula salad on the side. They also have an excellent wine list with some great West Coast wines, at reasonable price points. It is a high end steak place where you are not pushed to order the dinosaur cuts.
Food is great! Sophisticated atmosphere. Amazing fries, broccoli and Mac and Cheese.
AMAZING food as usual. Service was impeccable (shout out to Dan!). One of my favorite places in the neighborhood. We will be back soon.
I found this gem after researching Yelp looking for a restaurant for beef and not the usual seafood vibe. If I wasn't a resident of Texas, I would return frequently. Roasted Bone Marrow was excellent. My husband had the Rib Eye and said it was great. The Pork Belly Mac and Cheese and the Poutine Style Twice Baked "Loaded" Potato are to die for!!! Well worth the trip, and next time I am in Boston it will be a MUST visit again spot.
Fantastic meal and fantastic service. We had a great meal and Dillon our server was exceptional. Would recommend for any dining experience. It is not cheap but the meal was well worth it and the experience was terrific.
First time there and I loved it. I will be back sooner than later
Great time with perfect service
We went for Brunch totally exceeded my expectations! They give you homemade cinnabuns in a cast iron skillet to start! Need I say more?! The service was stellar, drinks were great and the food is fantastic we will definitely return!
Our waiter Patrick was very accommodating. When my meal had to go back, he apologize a couple of times. When we asked for hot coffee, he accommodated us. He served brunch at 11 and that can be tough because there are the small things people need... extra cream, hotter coffee, since my meal went back, so did my silverware. Whatever came up, he was very gracious and responsive. I hope I am remembering his name correctly.... he served a party of 4 at 11:00 on Sunday April 15th. It was my husband's birthday.
Great meal and great service. Pricy, but a very nice treat!
First time at B Chops. Loved it. All the ambiance and quality of capital Grill at a lesser cost. Don’t know why it took us so long to visit.
Great night, food was excellent one of our best meals we’ve had
Boston Chops continues to lead the pack when it comes to neighborhood dining. The food is always excellent, the service is seamless and the ambiance is energetic without being too loud.
This was the worst experience I have had at Boston Chops. The food was great but the service was terrible. When you order steak, they always bring a steak knife before your meal. This time it took 10 minutes to get the server to bring one. Next, we order a side item to split and it came after we were done eating. This should have been taken off the bill but instead he thru it in a to go bag and we paid for it. It was only $5 but it’s the principle. Last, every table around us had the sticky buns brought out before their meal. Our server didn’t ask if we wanted them, which we shouldn’t have to since it’s normally part of brunch. If the server had been really busy, I would understand, but he was standing around talking. After this experience, we will look for a new brunch place. We live around the corner from the restaurant, so it’s really convenient but not worth it when take into account the service.
First Time diner @ Boston Chops and I'm pretty sure my wife and I are switching from Mooo (another respectable steak house) to here.
Decor: somewhat typical of steakhouses; dark shades, gleaming glassware, cozy tables. Ambience is good.
Menu: good variation and prices reasonable for a steakhouse. Wine menu is excellent with good variety and is kept updated.
Food: outstanding. I had the 18oz rib eye and it was cooked exactly the way I wanted. My wife had the 14oz filet and she said it was "melt in your mouth" delicious. We both had sides (sour cream & horseradish mash for her and bacon roasted brussels for myself) and they were both killer. Not a huge amount per serving (for the sides), but the quality far made up for the quantity and realistically, who wants a pound of mashed potatoes after chowing down a steak? My wife who isn't a fan of brussel sprouts wanted more!
Service: IMPECCABLE! *Easily* 5-star service. Huge shout-out to our server Pamela who worked with us on selecting wine, and when I joked that my wife and I have been together over 13 years and haven't killed each other yet, champagne appeared a few minutes later at the table in celebration (along with a delicious plate of oysters served gratis!). Completely unexpected and very well appreciated! Service was very attentive but non-intrusive and I could see her (and the other servers as well) frequently passing by and visually checking their tables. Water was filled whenever glasses were down to half, wine was decanted before glasses were emptied and spot-checks on each table were done to ensure patrons were satisfied with their meal and to see if anything was needed. This speaks volumes for not only the servers, but the training they received as well.
Summary: I'll definitely be returning next time I'm in Boston and I'm also looking forward to their new location (Downtown Crossing) coming soon.
Chops is our go-to restaurant, for a night “when we don’t feel like cooking”, or we want a fun night out, to a special celebration. Never fails to provide the best experience, the best food, the nicest servers, and the best atmosphere. We can always hear each other when talking. We request a high-top by the bar because the atmosphere always inspires spontaneous conversation with people seated adjacent. Makes for a fun night.
Food, service and restaurant were excellent!
We had an amazing experience at Boston Chops. The food was outstanding, the pacing of drinks/apps/main meal was perfect. Service was attentive, not over-bearing. And the complimentary champagne and dessert wine was really wonderful and made our celebration even more joyful! Plus, my in-laws, who were visiting from out of town, said it was the best meal they think they've ever had.
Gutes Essen, leider sehr lange darauf gewartet obwohl das Restaurant nur halb voll war.
