Boston Chops - South End

Superb food, outstanding service - service not only knew and could explain in detail the various cuts of steak but also what part of the cow the cuts came from and why that matters to the texture/taste/flavor. Being able to offer select entrees from the dinner menu for brunch was an added touch. Overall, excellent experience.

Had an awesome time last night at Boston Chops. The service was excellent (shoutout to Melanie, best service ever!). I would definitely go back again.

Our group ordered an array of dishes from the menu; the pork chop and the chicken under the brick were definite highlights. Portions were just the right size and I liked that there was variety on their menu (not just steaks) One downside, two people from our group are big scotch drinkers, both felt the drink pours were a little small. Otherwise great experience - felt they took covid precautions seriously as well.

French onion soup was very strong. However, the crab cakes were just okay.

Food was not cooked as requested and service was not friendly. Deserts were not good at all.

The quality of the items served during the Valentines pre fixe were not of the standard that were are used to having on all of our previous visits to BostonChops South End. We have frequented over the years and the food is usually outstanding, which keeps us coming back. After the crab that was inedible, the overly garlic kale served with the “new york strip” and the sour dessert, it is going to take us a long time to come back. The service was outstanding but the food really disappointed. Not the same experience we ate used to having visit over visit...

Great place, great atmosphere and friendly employees. Never had a bad experience at Boston Chop, I would highly recommend !!!

The server was great, but we waited almost 30 minutes between our first course and our main course. The bread in the first course was overly toasted and cold, and the the mashed potatoes in the main course were cold. The meat for the dish with mashed potatoes wasn't very warm either. This makes me think the kitchen had an issue with one order but not the other, and the cold one had been sitting for a while.

I wouldn't normally complain about something like this, but the price after tax, an $80 tip for good service, and a $65 half-bottle of wine, the bill was $475. That's extremely high for a fixed menu. I've never had a great meal that I consider to have been too expensive. "Cheap" or "expensive" are a function of quality and value, not price. This meal just wasn't good enough to justify the price.

My fiancee and I go to Boston Chops for Valentine's Day every year. We'll still go back on a regular night, but we'll be looking for somewhere else on that date next year.

We have been to Boston Chops several times. Unfortunately we will not be returning. The food was very bland and unseasoned. It was Valentine’s Day, the service was very good but again the food was not seasoned.

There seemed to be a lot of errors the waiter keeps making such as bringing the wrong food. The quality of the food was not worth the price. The lemon dessert was way too sour not edible.

Food, steaks, were completely undercooked. We asked our waiter to bring it back to the kitchen to remedy the problem, but it came back still undercooked. At this point it was too late to make it better. On the plus side, they modified our bill. However, the overall quality of the steaks, was not to our satisfaction. Especially for the price we paid. We probably won’t return here.

The steak came cold, we had to send it back. When we got it back the fat wasn't rendered so every bite of steak felt greasy. We ordered a wagu long bone so the quality was supposed to be top notch. Very disappointed, I will never go back there.

As ever, both Lucas 1.0 and Lucas 2.0 were cordial and competent. Kiko and Melanie provided some entertainment, too--I envy their joie de vivre. I treated myself to a better bottle of wine than I normally do (the Hollaran Chenaie - Eola Amity Hills) and it did not disappoint. Once again, the Grilled Wagyu Bavette was a delight to eat. I am so glad that y'all are still open!

Our server, whose name I believe was Melanie, was attentive and helpful, making a solid recommendation for wine for my girlfriend and also pacing the food adequately. Knew when to check in , and when to give us time to ourselves. Loved the food and the service, props all around.

By far my favorite steakhouse in Boston. The ONLY thing better than the food is the service.

Fantastic experience all around - host/hostesses were welcoming and gracious, serving staff was friendly, informative and pace the dinner well. And - the food - was very well prepared. Ambiance was great - a gem in the neighborhood!

Absolutely delicious! Will come again!! I’ve already been raving about their perfectly cooked steaks and their amazing sides. My fiancé and I came for the New Years Celebration with the pre fixed meals, and we were not disappointed!!

My favorite steak house in Boston. It's the perfect mix of classic and modern. The staff has excellent wine knowledge and the steak cuts are expansive and very tasty. Perfect spot for a date or group dinner. Highly recommend.

As always service and ambiance were great. Tonight the pork chops were well done. Too well done. They were in the dry side and not seasoned. Not sure if the chef thought the bbq sauce was sufficient seasoning. But I requested salt n pepper to enhance the neat flavor. Hence I just don’t think the entre is worth $34. Much like dBar good quality gas shifted during COVID. Not sure why. Have not experienced that at my other “go to” establishments. Still a fan. And I BBC want to support. But I expect quality food for ur prices. Don’t feel I am getting that. Sorry

The food was very well cooked and the menu had a variety to choose from. The service was great! Our waiter was knowledgeable and checked in on us more than once but not to the point where it was over bearing. The drinks, I could live without. A more developed cocktail menu would highly benefit this restaurant.

Fabulous dinner and service! The Pumpkin Risotto with Lobster was out of this world!

Boston Chops was everything we hoped it would be. We went there last year for Thanksgiving and again this year. The only question I have is why did I wait a whole year to come back? The meal was absolutely delicious and our server, Kelly, was a delight and answered every question with a warm smile. We plan to make Boston Chops our go-to restaurant for the special occasions in our life. No more looking through the interns and reading reviews-we found our spot.

The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious!

As ever, the bartenders were attenttive and cordial. The martinis were delightful as was the steak.

I ordered the N.Y Strip and my date ordered the Rib Eye. Both were cooked to utter perfection and had an immaculate taste as we took each bite. To say we were satisfied would be an understatement. On top of the absolutely spectacular food, the service we received was unmatched. Our waitress Chelsea took care of our every need and we could not have been happier with our choice in dining establishment. Definitely will be back.
