South end location is definitely way better. It could be also because it’s lunch and the chef wasn’t the same and no effort was made.

Had an excellent meal here on Thanksgiving day. My husband had the short ribs and I had the bone tenderloin. Both were delicious. We started with an Equatorial Iceberg. Great take on a wedge salad. The toffee pudding was phenomenal.

Went for thanksgiving with friends. Service was great. Restaurant decor and ambiance lovely. Food quite good. A combination of steaks, tuna. Able to order turkey legs with meal. Fabulous option.

It’s a cool looking place but the food and service are poor. Drinks were bad and soda was flat. Bread plate was dirty and bread service was bland. Iceberg wedge came without the bacon described and looked like a kids portion. French onion soup had no cheese topping. Steaks took 50 minutes to come out and my medium rare was medium well near the bone and well done on the ends. We were seated near the front door and a cold wind blew in when the door opened. There’s lots of great steak choices in Boston, this isn’t one of them. This is my first review, not a hater and written in hopes it improves. I eat at similar steak/higher end places 8-10 per month so my expectations are reasonable.

We went here to celebrate our anniversary. I highly recommend it. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious.

The service in this restaurant was excellent! However on a cold and rainy day in Boston you want to have a place that’s a bit more warm and comfortable in terms of temperature. The restaurant has a downstairs component that is open to the main dining room and there is a cold continuous air draft coming from that area which really cools off the surrounding tables. In addition the steak, specifically the ribeye, was extremely full of fat.Lastly, the desserts themselves were excellent however a normal cup of coffee had the taste as if it had been taken from the bottom of the coffee pot! Frankly it tasted terrible!
I don’t believe the food was worth the cost.

The food was excellent; had a special, beef Wellington, it was superb; most everything else was also quite good; service was a little slow, though it looks like a very busy evening with a lot of folks in the room which also made it a little noisy, which would be the only other complaint since we were trying to chat with each other at a business meeting; however despite these minor complaints it was lovely meal and we’d come back again in a heartbeat

First time there; great job acknowledging my birthday through my Open Table reservation ; first thing we received upon being seated was two complimentary glasses of Prosecco. Wished me a happy birthday a couple times. Excellent service; food excellent!

Everything was good with the exception of the popovers which were burnt and hard as rocks.

We have enjoyed the popovers in the past but not on that night.

Our steaks were done perfectly!

The large format steak was tender and flavorful. All the food and the service were fantastic. We were going to the theatre after dinner and our server made sure our food came out with enough time for us to enjoy it before we had to go.

Excellent food and service. Enjoyed the sweetbreads for appetizer and the short rib entree. Wonderful ambiance, will definitely come back.

Fabulous food. Accommodating service for theater goers. Highly recommended. A bit noisy for faint of heart.

The food is excellent, but allow extra time for the steaks to be prepared.

The steaks were cooked just the way we wanted and were melt in your mouth delicious.
The server was a true professional helping us have the best dining experience possible.

Worst food, terrible service, I’ve never been to what is considered an “upscale” restaurant and had both of those things be a huge flop.

Overall not a bad experience but it didn't quite measure up to all the hype. The food was good. The caesar salad was WAY too much work. (Whole romaine leaves on top of a slice of toasted bread and provolone cheese). Generous portions of everything. We sat in a side room that had about twelve 2-tops. it was loud, stuffy and full of smoke. Really poor ventilation. On the way to the theater we had every dog in the city following us from the smell..lol Maybe worth a try for somewhere new but iId rather spend the money at Ruth's Chris

We all had different cuts with our steak frites and they were all delicious. Excellent fries! The horseradish sour cream mashed potatoes were nice and creamy but was light on the horseradish. Our server was knowledgeable and great!

Our waitress was great! The food delicious. However the ones bringing the food and the ones taking away the plates were really bad. They rushed us before our food was done. Tried to take bread away and food before we even started. The one bringing out the appetizers dropped the crab appetizer on the table picked up the lemon and the crab fell into the butter. He had the plate so tipped. They were trying to be attentive I guess but really annoying. Improve that area and it will be much nicer.

Between superior service, quality and perfectly cooked food and a great location, This Boston Chops has it all and won't disappoint you.

Had our first experience at Boston Chops and it was very nice. Attentive service, really good food, nice wines. This was our dinner before going to a show and it worked very nicely. Great location, too. All in all, would highly recommend this restaurant.

I took my friend out for her 25th birthday and we had a wonderful experience at the Downtown Crossing location. The location is gorgeous and has a romantic atmosphere. We were seated at the selfie table and served by the Jose who was so amazing, kind, and professional. He made our night lovely and the food was delicious. We enjoyed drinking wine glasses the size of our heads, having fried calamari, the sweet&spicy broccoli, mashed potatoes, and filet mignon with peppercorn sauce + fries. Would 110% recommend this spot for a special occasion, I’d advise to take the train or Uber/Lyft to the place.

Was our 2 year anniversary dating. The hostess knew this up front and already knew who I was when I showed up early to have flowers & a card left on the table. They were delicately placed in a stylish way on the table ahead of our official arrival. Word was quietly spread that it was our anniversary and every staff member that walked by made sure to wish us well. Given that we are a same-sex couple, this type of warm treatment isn't always assured so it was very nice! The manager stopped by early on to bring two complimentary glasses of celebratory champagne, and dessert came with "Happy Anniversary" beautifully written in cursive chocolate. The food and drinks were all delicious and we were so well treated. We will absolutely be back!

It's not the most inexpensive evening, but it was well worth it! I think I counted 5 servers tending to our requests. The food was delicious! The surprise champagne was thoughtful. I can't say enough about our experience! It will definitely be a regular "special occasion" spot for us!

Just randomly decided to come here, was extremely surprised at the quality of the food. Started with a drink at the bar which was very good and a small appetizer. There special appetizers are amazing, the ox tail croquet in particular. After that we were seated at our table, and proceeded to order steaks from the steak and frites menu. I had the Wagyu Bavette, which is possible the best flank steak I have ever eaten. Ordered the spicy broccoli side dish, which was a cool Asian twist on steam broccoli. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looks for a modern steakhouse experience.

Unbelievable end to end. Amazing service, fabulous food and a top shelf wine list!

The food and the service was excellent. The waitstaff was efficient and knowledgeable both about the menu and the wine that was available. I have been to the restaurant on a number of occasions and have not been disappointed yet. The table was comfortable and it was quiet and allowed us to have a conversation with out having to talk loudly.

A friend and I went before the Fleetwood Mac show—our server asked right away if we were trying to get to a show, so he could keep our timeline in mind. Service was amazing, and as always the food was spot on.

Had two NY strips, medium, and they had no meaty texture at all. Genuinely was like eating warm rubber. My son, who had been so looking forward to a US steakhouse as part of a trip from the UK to see the Patriots play, was in tears after a few mouthfuls.
Ok, I should have complained, but so as not to cause a fuss in front of my son, we laid the bill and left.

Awesome service! Went pre-concert with friends and they had never been. They loved it! Like it so much we went back post show for a drink.
