We love this restaurant! The food is simply exceptional and the prices are a value not for the quantity but for the quality, unique and delicious flavors and presentation. Service was excellent. Noise level was non existent which we love, since we were there pre Orpheum.
Very accommodating hostess with our party size change . Food was excellent . Ordered and shared many small plates .
Parking is a challenge !
Borough is hands down our favorite restaurant in town. We come back time and again for special occasions. The food is always delicious, full of delicate and refined flavors, unique, and beautifully presented. The service is always outstanding as well. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, comfortable and lovely. We've tried all the other supposedly finest restaurants like Butcher and Boar, Spoon and Stable, Capitol Grille etc...and we never end up going back to them, because they just don't measure up to Borough. We can't figure out why Borough doesn't get more attention and recognition...but as long as we can keep getting a table, we will be happy!
Borough never disappoints. The service, the food, the cocktails and the understated atmosphere make this one of my favorite restaurants in Minneapolis for any occasion. We can't wait to come back.
Unique food. Wonderfully prepared. Beautifully presented. Kudos!
Borough's staff was inviting, attentive and charming throughout our meal. Pairing suggestions were on point. Meats were prepared and cooked perfectly. Presentations of all dishes were delicious for the eyes and taste buds. Everything went down easy, enhancing our table conversation, excitement and comfort. The elevated position of the restaurant and view of the lively street from any seat in the house makes for wonderful people watching and an energetic atmosphere.
The whoel experience was amazing. The food was incredible, our server was very knowledgable and had great menu suggustions. I would definitely recommend to others!
The hostess congratulated us on our anniversary upon arrival. A server delivered a duet of champagnes after we had our initial cocktail. Katherine, our server, was wonderful. The whole experience- the food- service- ambience- everything was great. The ONLY thing I could constructively criticize is the “signature” octopus dish. It was really lacking in flavor. Really. But the scallops were off the hook/ the beet purée- delicious- everything else- awesome. Desserts- not a good selection. But everything else- perfect
I would highly recommend Borough. Our meal was outstanding. Definitely leave room for dessert. The flavor pairings were complex and out of this world. The food was cooked perfectly.
Great food!
Food was excellent and unique.
Our server - Kathryn was very nice, personable and helpful going over the menu with us.
Love that the noise level is minimal, so we can have a conversation without screaming at each other!
The salmon entry with fennel variations was fabulous! So complex, clean and levels of tastes. Well presented on the plate. Borough is always a special treat for delicious food, and professional yet friendly wait staff. A+ in our book!
Excellent food, attentive staff, comfortable atmosphere!
I will give the restaurant another try. We liked it on previous occasions but this time there were several dishes that were over done and just not that good. There were a few really good ones. The tuna dish and carrot dish were excellent but the rest were either so-so or worse.
Hi Karen, I'm sorry to hear this! I appreciate your feedback and will pass it along. I hope you do try us again and hope we can make it up to you! Keely, General Manager
Disappointing!
We were never asked how we’d like our burgers, nor if we wanted anything accompanying them. So, unless you’ve read the small print, you get 2 patties in between 2 buns with a slice of pickle!
Really!!
And then got an “explanation” that this is de rigour for upper end restaurants!!
Really!!
As someone who travels internationally & has experienced both ends of the eatery spectrum... this was way below expectations & a big disappointment.
Sorry we didn't meet your expectations, Lynda. Keely, General Manager
College graduation celebration
Very innovative items for brunch. Had a hard time choosing what to eat. Will have to return to try other items.
We sat at the front of the house where everyone checked in. It was loud and bright and not the lovely evening I was hoping for. The salmon was good but not remarkable. Limited menu. And very pricey.
Ive eaten there over the years and it seems to have declined. Servers are trying their best typically but not the most experienced. the green haired woman server seemed to rather not be there at all.
Wonderful experience
Awesome experience
Great good and service
Amazing waiter... awesome meal. Smaller portions but very good
Great sunny spot for brunch! The drinks are delicious and the staff is great!
Very interesting menu. Terrific server. A totally good experience!
Borough has been our go-to place for a high-quality dinner for special occasions or just when we want a high level of service, great food, and an elegant atmosphere. I've recommended it to friends in the past, but don't think I will in the future.
On Friday we went for a birthday celebration. The table was sticky and when we asked our server to have it wiped off she at first told us "the tables are just like that, it's the finish" -- I had to ask twice to get her to wipe it down (it was sticky, something had been spilled on it, it wasn't just that the varnish was tacky from the humidity). She brought my wine right away -- my dinner companion wasn't sure which wine he wanted and it took her over 15 minutes to check back in (I'd had my wine for over 10 minutes). The food was disappointing -- the ravioli were tough on the outside and grainy on the inside, my steak dish relied too heavily on salt for the flavor, and the turnips in my companion's dish were under-done. In the past, for birthdays, they've brought a little dessert with a candle, but the waitress didn't mention anything about the birthday and that was a bit disappointing.
Overall, we didn't have a *bad* time, but it was not the experience we were looking for, or the quality I expect at that price point.
Went on Good Friday so it was fairly quiet. Food was fabulous! Very creative with flavors and presentation. Nice wine selection. Call out to our server Tess who was attentive, fun and non-invasive. Atmosphere great.
Great food as always. Good service.
Very good service. Nice menu with many choices. Excellent drink menu. Definitely will be back.
Went for my birthday while in town, with my wife who is celiac. The waiter knew (for the most part) which dishes would be safe for her, but had to go check on one and simply.....forgot. The rest of the service staff spent the evening trying to give my wife bread and sharing plates for dishes with pasta and bread, which expresses a lack of attention to details.
From the food standpoint, there were some high points, but for the most part the food felt unfocused. Too many useless elements on the plate, many of which were cooked improperly or incompletely, or dishes that were simply poorly conceived. Some Asian influences, some American, some Italian, and none of which really fit well together. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
We had a great dinner. Our server (Ed?) was wonderful and the food was amazing. We’ll definitely be returning.
We stopped before the Guthrie for a light meal and were very pleased with the interesting dishes and service.
Service was wonderful and the menu was explained in great detail. The cocktails were very good. I appreciated the intimate atmosphere where we could have conversations with our friends and be able to hear each other. Highly recommend for date night!
Service was amazing. Food was fantastic - I’ve never been disappointed with a meal at Borough. It’s spendy but it’s worth it.
We had a free Saturday night and decided to hit Borough again. We love the ambiance of this restaurant and the large floor to ceiling windows showing the view of the busy street. Our server paced our meal so we had time between courses to enjoy our wine and we did not feel rushed. The dinner was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed each of our three courses. (4 if you count dessert) Our server, John, was amazing and answered all of our questions. We would highly recommend Borough.
Lovely experience. Amazing staff unique food. Great for date night.
We enjoyed our visit. The scallops were a favorite. Less so the Trout first and Ravioli second. There was too much competing for taste with the trout. The ravioli was just not memorable. But we love to go out to the north loop so no complaints.
Hi Ray, Thanks for your feedback! Sorry the trout and ravioli weren't the dishes for you, but glad you enjoyed the scallops! Hopefully, you come back and enjoy us again. Our menu is always rotating. Warm regards, Keely Nyquist, General Manager
This was my third time here. The first two times were much better. This time, the service wasn’t anything special and the food was all a little too salty. While the food was fun and unique, the flavors didn’t balance quite right in most of the six dishes we purchased. For a $200 meal for two, I expected better.
Hi Shelby, Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear the dishes weren't to your liking and I will certainly pass this along to our kitchen. I hope you try us again! Warm regards, Keely Nyquist, General Manager
Certainly a great meal. Drinks were a little slow coming out but only if I’m being really nitpicky!
This place never disappoints. They always ave something on the menu that is absolutely intriguing. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Menu updates seasonally so always something new to try
