It was okay. Maybe we were full. We had reservations at juniper and ivy for an early dinner. So the comparison might not be fair. I felt like born and raised had a great interior design. The staff were dressed in penguin suits or similar. The feel was like a modern 20s era design with 90s hip hop playing. I ordered and old fashion and little Italy - I usually drink my whiskey neat - and I felt like they could have made the cocktails more palatable for my wife. The food was kinda like Morton’s maybe? Or lawrys. Kinda old school sides - the taste textures and presentation were pretty different from juniper and ivys. Don’t order the American wagyu. You might as well order a steak. The Japanese wagyu was pretty good. Our server was knowledgeable with the menu - and pointed out how a dish might taste. Mac and cheese. As he said. Pasta was traditional a quick boil - so don’t expect anything fluffy. Same with the uni pasta - my wife said the chili oil was overpowering. Maybe just dots of oil are needed. Mushrooms were okay - they weren’t magical. The bone marrow is bone marrow the toast was too tough and overpowering. Side of brioche is needed to balance the heaviness of the dishes. Which our server did recommend. We took carrot cake to go. That was good. Come for the pictures and ambiance - the dry aged steak was highly recommended - maybe try that.

Everything was amazing, the new general manager Joseph, greeted us personally and even gave us a special treat for our anniversary. I highly recommend this place!!

Staff from the hostess to the downstairs bartender to our server Anderson were all kind & very professional. The food was amazing and worth the price. Already recommended to all our friends & family and will be back again, sooner than later!

Wow! Speechless after our first experience at Born and Raised. Our server Brian was a huge help and a pleasure to have. The atmosphere was gorgeous. The menu was impeccable. Brian answered all of our questions and helped us make the best selection. One of the best meals we’ve ever had. Will be back!

Our server, Raphael, was amazing. He walked us through the menu and answered our questions about what we should order so that we could sample the entire menu in one go. My birthday was amazing thanks to him! Was a little loud on the top floor, but the view and heaters made it worth it. Lighting is a bit dark, but just use the moveable lamp to read the menu. The toilets are hilarious (each one says something different) and there are Wu-Tang/hip-hop/rap artists framed all around the restaurant. Explore!

Everything about this place makes you want to come back. The vibes inside take you on a full-on Gatsby experience. Although it wasn't the best steak we've ever had, it was good enough for us to want to visit again. Sides were AMAZING and we hope to be seated on the second floor our next visit.

Food was good but was super disappointed in the service. The restaurant highlights table side service, but we found ourselves waiting many times for our server to come over, but he was stuck doing tableside drinks for someone else. The restaurant is very flashy and showy, and for a place like that you would expect the service to be top-notch as well.

We have very mixed feelings about this restaurant. On the one hand, the outdoor space is simply fabulous. The ambiance is great and we had a spectacular Beef Wellington ($130 to share by 2 people). On the other hand, after the appetizers were served, we waited for an hour for the main course, and our $75 Dry-aged T-bone steak was so hard that we had to send it back, and the $69 Dry-aged Ribeye steak was also chewy and dry. Very disappointing and surprising as these are supposed to be their signature dishes. On top of that, our waiter was nowhere to be found most of the time. Our son suspected that because my husband and I did not order any drink that he did not feel like serving us with great attention. In any case, we will still go back for a special occasion next time, and we will certainly avoid the dry-aged steaks and the same waiter.

Went for date night/birthday dinner. Definitely exceeded our expectations! The food was great & so were the drinks! A little too noisy for my liking but would still go again for sure. Especially for that Mac n Cheese!

This was legitimately one of the best overall dining experiences I’ve ever had in my life. From the design, to the decor, to the service and food and drinks everything was incredible. Would definitely recommend this place for any special occasion or just even a drink to experience the atmosphere.

Checked in with hostess. She asked if it was my birthday and i responded yes. We were seated quickly. The waiter came asked a few questions and left. When the waiter came back we asked him basic information such as drink choice and meat selection. He had to continually go back and ask for answers to our questions. We ordered the lamb, hash brown and wagyu with some drinks. The wagyu presentation was boring and the meat was over cooked. There were several pieces of meat on the center of the plate with a pile of salt on the side. For $150 I would expect more of a presentation and better cooking. The lamb was delicious and beautiful to look at. As were the hash browns. After we ate we waited around for the check for a bit of time. Once the waiter came no mention of my birthday or an offer for dessert. The restaurant was beautiful but the over all experience was ok.

I've been trying to get a reservation that works for me at this restaurant for months now. Finally was able to book a indoor table and it was off to the races. Our expectations were set extremely high because of all the Buzz surrounding this place and I have to be honest with everyone..... this restaurant not only delivered on our expectations, they Over Delivered on them. I'd go back to this spot in a heartbeat. Loved our experience!!! Great food, service and ambiance!

This place is beautiful, amazing food- the best steak we’ve had in a long time, hands down. The roof top bar was breath taking and the cocktails-perfection!! Pretty expensive but you get what pay for!!! It’s a very Great Gatsby ambiance and feel. Great place for a special occasion or night out with friends. Highly recommend.

Second time dining here and had a lovely experience. Did the rooftop -- the setting is fabulous! Enjoyed a nice selection of appetizers/starters, great entrees and sides. Definitely one of SD's best restaurant offerings!

Great service and oresentation for meals. We had to reorder a few times because things were missing from the menu like the rack of lamb. I enjoyed the uni pasta alot and my gf enjoyed the huge cut of pork chop!

Cocktails were also just amazing! Highly recommend but maybe earlier in the day to get more food options.

The onion soup as a starter was brought to the table after the steaks. Also it wasn’t hot

The ribeye steak was requested medium well and it was served well done and it was cold as well

The sides were served a few minutes after the steaks

We asked for coffee after dinner and we had to ask again since it was taking some time to be served together with dessert.

Love this place. The venue and the food is amazing.

Waiters were very professional and knowledgeable. Front staff could be better.

We turned up early so we could have a drink at the bar which was not busy and there was plenty of bench seats. They said we had to have a reservation for the bar and that our table was ready.

Not sure what the problem with this was as we were nearly 30 minutes early. Five minutes later a gentleman come over and told us our table were ready. We just went ahead and sat at the table.

The rest of the evening was outstanding and we even had drinks on the rooftop and the staff there were amazing!

Steak was not good at all. It was a ribeye.
They kept asking if it was a special occasion yet did nothing even though it was two birthdays.
Ambience excellent. Steak a year ago was wonderful so not sure what happened.
