Literally after the worst experience I had here last time today made up for it and for all my good visits. DANIELLE is the server I’ve had so far. So informative and genuinely so nice. I will only get her next time I come! She’s amazing and thank you!
It has lovely decor with hard banquette seating and an extensive very expensive menu. Their wine list is likewise extensive and very expensive. My ribeye steak was very chewy albeit tasty. Their Steak Diane was very good as were the "sides". Overall I would not recommend this restaurant.
My experience at Born and Raised could not have been better. it was my daughters 16th birthday. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left they made her feel like a princess. A member of the team (Jackie) even came to the table with a lovely card for her. The food, ambiance, service was world class. Can’t wait to visit again!
I ordered the meat sampler. Everything tasted so good. The Japanese a5 waygu was amazing! It was the best steak that I've ever eaten. Be prepared to pay for the great service and delicious food!
Amazing service! Delicious food! They also have great cocktail, great beer and wine options. Desserts are a must as well!
This has gotten to be my favorite place. The decor is amazing. I prefer the upstairs. The downstairs seems to be really noisy. My favorites are the dry aged meatball and the dirty hash browns. Their cheesecake was out of this world!

Great steakhouse with variety of choices. Excellent service by Davin our waiter. Very attentive and made sure we enjoyed our meal. He even offered me a different drink since the original drink I ordered tasted like juice. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We booked a table for 9 pm and they first had a table available at 10 pm. We were told when we arrived at 9 pm that we would have to wait max. 20-30 minutes, but we ended up waiting for one hour. Furthermore, it was my birthday and I was very disappointed with the service.
Had reservations for 8:30 and didn't get seated until 9:30
It was a little weird when the table side service guy asked the table beside us (3 elderly Caucasian couples) if they ordered the steak tar tar, and they told him no and gave him a very confused look. Then I raised my hand and said oh that's us, because we actually did order the tar tar. And he looked at me and said "let me go check, I'll be right back". My wife and I are a younger (30) mixed African American couple, so I'm going to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and say there was some confusion with the table numbers and not that it was about age or race. Other that, loved everything about our experience and the meal. Had cocktails on the roof top to start. Took our picture with the portrait of ODP. It was the best steak I've had (dry aged ribeye) since eating at the Grant Grill. Our server was excellent. Food was delivered in a timely manner. Truely a 5 star experience minus the minor hiccup.
Disappointed. Although the service was superb, the entrees were not. I had to send my fish back and lost my appetite for a replacement. The other two entries for my co-diners were marginal at best and were not worth the very high cost. Loved the decor though!
This was our second visit to Born & Raised and again the experience was amazing. We ordered a variety of dishes from meats to fish and everything was delicious! Highly recommend for any occasion.
This is our 4th time enjoying dinner at Born and Raised and we are never disappointed. Service always exceeds our expectations every time. Food is always amazing. Nicholas was our waiter for the second time and he deserves a raise and promotion. He is very knowledgable about every item on the menu. If you have anyone on your team that should train any newbies, it should be Nicholas. We'll definitely be back.
The best food. The best drinks. The best service. Don’t know why I waited so long to try this place because now I’m hooked!
The restaurant itself was impeccably designed in authentic Art Deco design with clear attention to detail. Both the frois gras and the beef Wellington were amazing and melted in our mouths. Top notch. The staff were well trained and personable. So there were a lot of positives for sure.
There were, however, two things that let the night down. The first was the kitchen exhaust system which was not strong enough so the smell of the kitchen went throughout the restaurant. While the food smelled great...we also smelled like we were the ones doing the cooking by the time we left. The second was the martini cart which was meant to come make your martini table-side. It took so long we left sober after a 2.5 dinner when we were up for a party. A bit disappointing.
I seriously could not stop oooing & awwwing over the ambiance and design! I’m an interior designer and this place is incredible. I don’t eat meat, but my son does. It was his birthday and I’m thinking I might have detracted a tear in his eye when he was so enjoying every bite of his wagu! 😉 Even not eating meat...I left stuffed! ...in a most delightful way that is! The food was amazing, the service was over the top, everyone was more than personable and genuinely kind. It was a great night and money well spent! Everyone must go!! We all agreed it’s our new favorite spot in SD!!
Everything as great but was not fond of the sides we chose
Great place to have a special dinner. My wife and I both enjoyed the steaks we had, done as ordered and very high quality. My only disappointment was with the selection of vegetable and the starch sides they offered. The menu does a poor job of actually describing what the sides are. We ended up ordering fingerling potatoes with herbs and cheese, as described by our waitress only to have a side dish that was overly sweet and not to our liking. I would only suggest you get a good description of what you are ordering. Steaks were great though!
Great ambiance, great food, great service. We had a family gathering to celebrate a birthday and had a great experience - despite an early sitting we were not rushed and enjoyed every minute.
Awesome bar and great food. The service was excellent and the roof top dining was a nice experience.
Been wanting to dine here since it opened and had the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful dinner with the family as everyone was home for Thanksgiving. Our meal was amazing; steaks perfectly prepared, bursting with flavor; sides rich and flavorful, plenty to share. We were so grateful that we could enjoy the table-side prepared caesar salad with bibb substituting for the romaine due to the lettuce scare. The only drawback was the woman seated next to us who stood and photographed every dish that was being prepared with her lumi case brightly shining our way.
All you can really say about this place is PERFECTION. The place is gorgeous, the service was incredible, and the steak.....ya go try it as soon as possible!

The atmosphere is beautifully unique and the staff is dressed to match. Everyone was polite and we were well taken care of. Steaks were cooked to perfection. The meatball appetizer and bread were amazing. It was a great experience and we will 100% be back again.

A group of 4 of us enjoyed a fantastic dinner. We started with the bread (I could do a meal with that alone, it was a delicious popover!), the uni spaghetti, polenta meatballs, and the foi gras. All excellent. Loved the tableside caesar, omelette (had to try it because it was so odd/unique on the menu!), and steak diane. The bone in ribeye was the best, followed by filet and steak diane. The dirty hashbrowns were a favorite side. All of the servers were attentive and knowledgeable. Great wine list! We loved every minute of our meal from start to finish including the vibe, the bathrooms, and the decor. We will return!

Great evening! Very cool rooftop bar, the staff was exceptional, the food was interesting and yummy. Even though they were crazy busy, they didn’t rush us at all. We’ll go back!

Rarely saw the waitress - after the order next time was when we were almost finished eating and she came by when we were almost finished dinner.
Potatoes served w prime rib was over mixed ! Blended. ? Almost liquified.
Prime rib was good. But there is better around - and cheaper.
Love the expensive build out.
That said - does expense of that cover sales ?
Do feel much of the staff feel cocky.
However the bar guys were great. Downstairs.
Mexican guy was especially good. Do not know his name.
