Great restaurant with good food and great service. The level of detail placed into the good, drinks, and presentation makes for a fantastic meal.
Amazing. Go, spend, enjoy. Serious steak lovers will not be disappointed. Amazing sides and smart staff
Love Loved it!!!!!
Great food and fantastic service by Katie and Breesh!
Everything was delicious!! Pricey, but delicious. we had The bone in rib eye was outstanding, ceaser salad, uni pasta, and seared foie gras
My wife and I showed up 30 minutes before reservation. We went upstairs to the outside bar after being greeted by three lovely hostesses who wished us happy anniversary. After having some incredible cocktails we went downstairs to enjoy our meal which was probably the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. We were too full to enjoy what’s bound to become a legendary carrot cake; so we took it to go!
I treated a friend to dinner for her birthday and we both loved Born and Raised! The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, the ambiance was perfect! We will most definitely be back.
Fantastic dining experience with excellent service, awesome decor and good food.
Sam (hostess), Josh (waiter), Louise (table side service) and Ashley (general manager) were absolutely incredible! They were very pleasant, friendly, accommodating and professional.
Needless to say, my wife and I had an amazing time celebrating our anniversary here.
Our new favorite, we have been 3 times already! We tell everyone to go!
This has been one of the greatest restaurants I've been to. The food and the service is impeccable!
The decor was a hit with my group. We loved the reference to the old school rappers. Was disappointed that they didn’t have big selection of vodkas (no Tito’s) also did not have Jameson. My Dirty Martini was terrible (never have gotten a martini that was green so obviously all olive juice and they charge $25 for one). Ordered bread, salad, and Japanese Waygu for appetizer which was phenomenal. Ordered the Tomahawk steak to split with my husband, but waiter came back and told us the chef couldn’t cut the steak less then 48 ounces (they charge by the ounce and we were told they started at 35 ounces). So we switched to the dry aged ribeye. It was really good, but did not like the fact they cut my steak for me. Overall the experience was good and would recommend for special occasions.
Food was beyond my expectations. The staff was amazing. Super friendly. The GM personally went to our table to greet us after we had taken our seat. Would definitely recommend this place. Everything was extraordinary.
First time dining here. Overall experience was great. Enjoyed table-side hand-crafted Manhattan and well as their Caesar salad. Both executed by a wonderful staff. Perfect and generous serving of foie gras. Boneless rib eye was just OK. Side of asparagus excellent. $25 corkage was fair if you are bringing a special bottle of wine from your cellar. Overall atmosphere was lovely. For h e next time I might try the duck for two.
I just brought my wife to Born and Raised for our anniversary. I was lucky that I made a reservation a couple weeks in advance, because it was packed!
I was immediately greeted with multiple employees wishing us a happy anniversary (it was like everyone knew) and it was a really nice feeling.
The service was amazing, the food was even better. Perfectly cooked steaks and appetizers.
Great bar on top level with excellent bartenders. Striking restaurant with great service and we all enjoyed are meals.
One of the best restaurant I had been.
Dined with an out of town supplier who come to San Diego often and had not experienced B&R. Food was delicious, wine selection broad in quality and value, and staff efficient.
Amazing experience as expected. Everything on point!
Really cool inside. Great service. Cocktails were delicious. Food was very good. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion/fun night out when you want to splurge
Service was top notch, food was outstanding. Definitely going back soon!
Everything was excellent about our experience. The only issue I had was we waited an extra 20 minutes for our table when we had a reservation. Make sure you’re not in a hurry when you come here.
The food, drinks and service were really outstanding! Loved the Burgundy snails, T-Bone was cooked to perfection and the leeks, fries and carrots were delicious! I just would have appreciated “warm” and larger dinner plates, as my steak with three sides and Bernaise sauce barely fitted on the served tiny plates, which also unfortunately kept sliding on the table while cutting the meat. I would definitely recommend this place and will come back for sure, but then asking for warm and bigger plates ;)
We had an amazing time! Lots of fun tableside service! Very attentive and knowledgeable staff!
Food is delicious! Get the Dry Aged Steaks well worth it!
It was my husbands birthday and they made his experience very special
Great snails. Steak was very disappointing, fatty and grisly, I expect much more from a $140 porterhouse (was raised at Peter Luger, my expectations are high). Service was lovely though, and the bar was a scene. Very cool ambiance.
Celebrating my wife’s birthday, the restaurant had a special note waiting to congratulate her. Everything was great except my steak. My wife had the tenderloin Oscar style. Very good, just disappointed in my ribeye, tasted like they dunked it in butter. Table side Cesar salad was great. Atmosphere was terrific, would have given more stars but I’m a steak snob and was a little disappointed.
Great dry aged steak. Excellent Vacqueyras. Only complaint was pasta with uni was overcooked.
The drinks and ambience were fantastic. The food was surprisingly mediocre for how incredibly expensive it was. All four of us ordered different drinks (splendid) and meals (bland) to get a variety.
We were excited to try the resturant, arrived
and went upstairs for drinks. This is a very cool bar with outside lounge area. We were dressed nicely, cocktail dresses, dinner jackets, and were seated by the side doors when the middle of the resturant was empty. So we had no inside room experience or ambiance. Ok, fine.
The appetizers were good, the Ceasar salad
came next, mixed at table. It was great.
The Steak Diane a very New York dish was made at the table, and served. The rest of our dinners had not arrived. Oops. Now that would not have happened in New York.
5 maybe more minutes later the rest of our dinners arrived, lukewarm. The Oscar on one of the aged ribeyes were small crab legs that
even the waiter said there is something wrong with them. Some 20 minutes after dinner, dessert was requested and 15 minutes later they brought the cart. We took the carrot cake and cheesecake to go, paid and left. The steaks were good. Not great.
Jeans and T-shirt’s would have been fine. Good place to meet friends or bring a casual date.
But if you want to really enjoy a great meal, excellent ambience, mouth watering steaks, my money’s on Cowboy Star hands down.
We live in the neighborhood and have waited until the restaurant has had an opportunity to “break in”. Glad we did. Our last event of our daughter’s wedding week and B&R was OUTSTANDING ! From cocktails and starters to entrees, sides and dessert the experience was exquisite! Nick was outstanding as our server !
Parking was the only downside. Steak was on point, staff was excellent and the tableside martini cart was worth everything. It was a show! Great ambiance and not too loud. Highly recommend for a date night.
Great food and service, but noise level very high for quite dinner.
My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves. It's nice to have such great service for a change. The staff was very attentive. In a good way. The food is excellent! Highly recommend the table side Ceaser Salad.
Lovely space with a definite art nouveau influence. The service was good without being overwhelming. The food did not live up to the quality of the architecture. Filet was cooked exactly right but was surprisingly tough; my plate was sliding across the table as I tried to cut it. The side of leeks was terrific.
Born and Raised is incredible. One of the best steak houses I have ever been to.
Not to be missed.
Nice. Dine upstairs for a great atmosphere.
My husband and I went here for his Birthday. We had the best time! The service is so amazing and everything was delicious. We both had the tableside Caesar Salad (highly recommended). That night they were serving Beef Wellington for 2, so we ordered that. We both loved it. Overall great experience!
Nothing special was done to our table after selecting that it was our anniversary. The filet was pretty chewy and service was slow on an Easter Sunday. I’d never been to the restaurant before but would revisit due to the atmosphere.
