   lovely place for a dinner. the food was interesting and SO tasty and the service was excellent. it felt very intimate.

   2nd Time back to Borgo and it is just wonderful - this time we had different dishes on the menu and once again they were stellar - it is a wonderful restaurant- wonderful food lovely atmosphere and so welcoming- this has become our favorite restaurant in Florence

   One of the best dining experiences ever. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Chef Gabriele we were made to feel like we were eating in his home instead of a commercial establishment. The food was as outstanding as the service but I won’t dwell on the individual courses that we ordered. Rather what really impressed us was that as each course was delivered Gabriele would return to the table and explain how it was prepared. I am not sure but I suspect that the reservations were spaced 15 minutes apart intentionally to allow this level of individual attention from the chef for each client. We were the first to arrive and three or four others arrived over the next hour. So each table seemed to be on a different course at all times allowing the chef to mingle and provide his commentary on each dish. I hadn’t really paid any attention to prices on the menu when we were ordering so I was shocked when we received the bill and I saw that it was easily half of what we had paid the previous few nights while vacationing in Florence. So on top of the quality of the experience, the value was truly exceptional.

   The pasta, duck and pork medallions were all amazing. Best meal we had in Florence. The owner and staff treated everyone very well. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.

    There are few words in English or Italian that describe the incredible experience dining with Gabriel. The care and attention to detail from the moment you walk in until the end of your meal is impeccable. So many flavors locally sourced with care and a commitment to achieve the top requirements for an amazing dining experience — regional, seasonal and the pairing. Will be back again and again.
