"When people ask where in New Orleans to go for great local seafood,
I want the answer to be Borgne." - Brian Landry, Executive Chef
Chef Brian Landry grew up fishing on Lake Borgne, the epicenter of coastal cuisine in Louisiana.
His passion for Louisiana seafood brought him to create Borgne, a celebration of coastal Louisiana with a touch of Isleño influence. Borgne is a gathering place for locals and visitors alike, a CBD lunch spot, a quick bite before the game and a casual setting for a delicious dinner with friends.

Borgne Ratings and Reviews
Our server was Awesome (Emily) our food on the other hand was average at the very best! The reviews suggested Borgne offered the best in fresh seafood? The menu is very limited and the seafood was basic and our Shrimp was mushy (old). TBH-I didn’t complain as most of our 10 top were Business colleagues although the consensus at the table was the same. The best experience was dessert that the bartender offered from a previous visit in the week that was worse! Honestly-Borgne missed the mark on 2 visits in the same week. The manager must receive customer service lessons as he could honestly care less! Again bright spots were Emily, desert and Colby bartender!
We really enjoyed our time here. We went for valentine's day and the atmosphere was great. The waiter was very attentive and gave honest reviews and options for the menu. We feasted like kings with the broiled oysters started, the rosemary bread, and then delicious blackened fish and for my boyfriend, the mouth watering steak. Ultimately, finishing the night with their delicious banana bread pudding and ice cream. I died a little. I would highly recommend for a romantic night or a special occasion.
The service was outstanding. Phil our server was one of the best servers I’ve ever had. Even though it’s a seafood restaurant the fried chicken is to die for. I would order the fried chicken as an appetizer because it’s un believable, it’s something you shouldn’t miss while at that restaurant. I also highly recommend their bloody Mary as it was outstanding.
My son-in-law, my 7 year old grandson, and I (the grandpa!) were staying at the Hyatt-Regency, as we were going to Monster Jam. I had the presence of mind to make reservations at Borgne well in advance, so we were able to be seated immediately, and our wait person was right there to take our drinks order. Of course, our grandson ordered grilled cheese and root beer, but we ordered adult fare, and it was delicious. Service was excellent and the food was delivered very timely. We had an unhurried dinner, leaving plenty of time to get to the Superdome.
Had reservations for 15. Arrived on time and was seated. We had only 1 waitress. I asked the Manager to get her some assistance so that food, drinks can be in a timely manner. His reply was that our table of 15 is considered 1 table, same as a table of 4 people. Huh? So, I would Not recommend this establishment because of management.
From the food to the drinks, and from the service to the environment, everything was fantastic. It was like high-end food meets classy sports bar. My fiancè and I went to Borgne for my birthday and we both a had a great time. I ate a few raw oysters, the Shrimp Toast and the Black Drum - all amazing. My fiancè ate the Hanger steak. I don’t know what was better, that or the drum. We’ll be back!
Love this place. Great staff, eclectic menu. Get the turkey necks...seriously...just do it and the shrimp toast for appetizers. The fish bag is scrumptious and if you are a salad lover then get the grilled romaine salad and add shrimp, it is an unexpected twist on a traditional salad.
We are in NOLA all the time and Borgne never disappoints. It is one of the best values in the New Orleans for happy hour for business travelers too. Nice and professional crowd.
Dined after a Saints game and was able to get a table before reservation time. Waitress was good and food was very good. I had a cup of gumbo that was great and the fish which was perfectly cooked. Plenty of food, my husband helped me finished my meal. Definitely recommend.
We ate here just before the Sugar Bowl, and boy was it packed! So glad we made reservations. They seated us just slightly late, but as I mentioned, it was packed. The bar was standing room only. Food was absolutely delicious! Service was quick, and staff was very attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was perfect for pre-game as there were several games up on the tv's in the bar and everyone seemed hyped up for the showdown. We admired the columns in the dining room as they were dressed entirely in oyster shells! Very fitting given the location. We had the Oyster BLT, 1/2 lb jumbo shrimp (biggest we'd ever seen!), catfish sliders, salads and Roasted cauliflower soup (very good!). We'd totally hit this place up again.
I had reservations to dine before the Sugar Bowl. It was freezing outside so no one wanted to leave when they finished eating. It was a Madhouse. All the staff remained extremely polite and professional throughout the ordeal. The service was still great as was the food.
I had the shrimp po' boy and my husband had the grilled fish sandwich, both of which were very good, but the highlight was the French fries—quite possibly the best I've ever had!! And even though they were quite busy on New Year's Day prior to the Sugar Bowl, the service was great, too. Would definitely recommend!
There was total disregard for the dining public because of the loud kids at the adjacent table. No one from the establishment made any effort to ask them to be considerate of the other diners. you could have a very great dining establishment if properly managed. The lighting was not in keeping with fine dining at a special Hotel such as yours.
Sorry, I am used to more refined locations.
