The menu pays homage to New Orleans classics and a celebration of all that the local waterways have to offer. The seafood featured throughout the menu reflects Borgne's commitment to local, sustainable seafood.
Home of the longest bar in New Orleans, Borgne is the perfect place to grab a drink with friends, enjoy happy hour or watch a game on one of our TVs. The bar also features a raw bar with a New Orleanian oyster shucker at the helm highlighting and serving Gulf delicacies.

The cauliflower appetizer was excellent! The gumbo is some of the best in New Orleans.
We had a great time and enjoyed our Food .
Had a great Waitress !!
There should be a warning when the restaurant you are about to go go is A: in a hotel, B: corporate owned. Overpriced, underwhelming food surrounded by better restaurants that I wish we would have gone to.
We had never been to Borge. The food was good but I thought there would be more seafood options
We have eaten here before. Always good. Dinner with friends. Soft shell BLT was cold fries were limp. It just wasn’t great.
Decent service. Unimaginative food and not particularly tasty. Very salty. Would not return.
We had a business dinner and it took our server 20 minutes to take a drink order, and appetizers were eaten before he took our entree order. One of our party received her gumbo 30 minutes before everyone got their entree and she was too polite to eat, so her dinner was ice cold.
Borgne is always a hit. Took a group of guys here for drinks and shareables before a night out and they all loved it. I always recommend the duck poppers and the seafood towers, as well as the fish in a bag for an entree.
My husband and I had an 8:30 reservation. We showed up around 8:20 and were seated immediately. We ordered 2 glasses of wine and then appetizers. When we received our appetizers, our waitress asked if we were ready to order, which we were, but kind of mumbled that we need to order by 9:00 because the kitchen closes. We received our salads and while still eating our salads we got our entrees. The food was delicious. However, while my husband was still enjoying his meal our waitress put the check on the table and said take your time. We were caught off guard, because we were never offered another drink or even dessert. We then mentioned it to the waitress, and she said she could go ask the kitchen to make us something. Clearly, she was in a rush and just wanted to get us out of there which was a total turn off for us. Do not make an 8:30 reservation if the kitchen closes at 9:00 and won’t even accommodate the people already sitting down enjoying their meal. Getting another glass of wine also has nothing to do with the kitchen, so obviously she just wanted to get home for the night. Very disappointed in the service. When we spoke to the manager she just kept saying she would get us dessert. It wasn’t about the dessert. Our experience was rushed, and not enjoyable.
Sub par on game day. Out of items at the bar. Basic ingredients for simple drinks on the menu. Any manager would know they need to stock for game day regardless of their farm to table mentality. Oysters were good. Served without a lemon for some reason. You can’t really screw up a raw oyster unless you forget the accoutrements. Which they did. Waiter had no idea what we had ordered. We only ordered drinks and the drink was wrong and somehow we were delivered cauliflower when we wanted a French75 and water. The french75 was horrible. Bitter. Not enough champagne or simple syrup. Served in a plastic cup like I was at A frat party. If you are looking for seafood, go to Peche any day, any time and you will be blown away by the service and attention to detail. This place is not worth the hype or the money. I expect it to be shuttered within a year if they keep this up.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. The seafood Au Gratin was awesome, my steak and potatoes were good just wish the temperature of it was hotter was just warm. My husbands pork chop was slightly tough but had a great flavor.
Got 2 appetizers (shrimp and catfish) and crab claws --- ok I guess
Wine cam in glass cup :(
Saints game Sunday night football
Overall good but if raw oysters shouldn’t be served, they shouldn’t be served, not simply discouraged by over pricing!
Service was good and the food was great. Don't stay at the Hyatt Regency though. It's the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. One thing after another the entire time we were there.
Chose restaurant for its close proximity to the Smoothie Arena. 2 dinners were good. No greater compliment than that. Caesar salad huge but greens were tired. 2 chicken dinners incredibly dry. Disclaimer these 2 diners were on restricted diets. Server intimated without the “gravy” the dish wouldn’t be near as good. Chicken was severely over cooked. As rated the service was as good as the cornbread! Delicious. BBQ shrimp and grits were good. Grilled fish and succotash was also good. So much great food in NOLA, I wouldn’t choose to return. Their printed stance on not splitting a bill was icing on the cake.
Great food. They should bring bread during the meal.
Loved all the food. Delicious every time I go. Great happy hour. The sangria is great!
Food was very good, service was quick and wait staff was good. You can't go wrong here.
Very positive - great staff & food. Daily specials are delish. & free valet parking!!
The lunch time service, quality and taste is always an experience. I had lunch with a first day employee to lighten up the day, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and needed a doggy bag due to the nice sized portions. Very tasty menu pleasing to all pallets. Do not change anything!!! DELISH!
Outstanding service and food!
Service did not meet our expectation. Our waitress was not friendly, and plain rude.
Make sure you “read” their entire menu, because they do not communicate with you in any other form. If you are more than a party of 1, make sure you see their small disclaimer at the bottom of the menu that they “cannot” split checks. They do not let you know that to begin with.
Do not recommend this place to anyone, not even an enemy. Absolutely ridiculous.
We went in for appetizers and drinks. Food was amazing!! Our server came to check on us and see if we wanted anything about every 5 minutes. It was a little too much for some moms that never get out and have adult conversation. Other than that, it was great!
Admittedly, we ate before a Saints game, but it was preseason and not that busy. It took 30 minutes to take our order, drinks took forever to come, water glasses remained empty, etc. Disappointing since I’ve never had trouble like that at Borgne before a game.
We went to Borgne based upon a recommendation, and to say it wasn't what we thought it would be; would be an understatement. We ordered a bottle of wine, and the server asked if we'd lie to try it or should she just pour it. That was the way the night went. If you want hotel food, Borgne is your place; but listening to children carrying on and ok food with a server that really doesn't get it; then this is your kind of place, NOT MINE!
The food was wonderful; some of tbe best my wife and I have had in New Orleans. Pur server McKenzie was lovely too. The place was busy when we arrived which made it a bit noisy but, it happens. When the crowd left we really didn't appreciate the staff sweeping up around us while we were still eating. We consider it rude and unprofessional.
The four of us really enjoyed our meal at Borgne before the Queen concert. We started with a carafe of sangria which was so good! Then had two appetizers, the shrimp toast and the duck poppers. Both delish! For entrees two of us had the shrimp remoulade, which was good, and the other two had the gulf fish almondine which was wonderful! It was a bit hectic with so many people dining before the concert but that's to be expected. Would still recommend!
Average at best. Menu is not very varied. Fried shrimp were average. Gumbo had more rice than anything but tasted pretty good. I guess it is handy to the hotel, but that would be the only reason to eat there.
Thank you for your review and your patronage. We strive to be the best seafood restaurant in NO and I am sorry we didn't live up to that standard for your dinner. Please feel free to contact me at Borgne so we can get better!
Enjoyed our visit and dinner. Our server was quite abrupt with us and told us she basically needed to turn the table. We bought two bottles of wine, not to mention food! Sure didn’t feel right
Thank you for your review and your patronage. I believe your server got your table confused with some fellow diners that actually had a time limit on their table because of later reservations. I apologize for the misstep. Please feel free to contact me at Borgne!!
Second visit because my wife wanted the turkey necks so we had two orders and they were great. Party of three. The rest of the meal had highs and lows. The watermelon gazpacho was good, the turkey burger was not, shrimp Pontchartrain was ok, the crab claws were full of butter but no flavor and pecan pie desert was the worst dessert ever. Pecan pie filling in dry puff pastry. The cocktails were good. Service was good.
Went at Saints pregame half time. Place was practically empty. We sat and the waitress asked what we wanted to drink we both ordered the Sangria. Waited and waited in spite of the place being almost empty. Drinks finally come. White sangria. This was not specified on the menu so we were disappointed also, it wasn’t that good. Sent it back and started the long wait for two new drinks. Glasses of wine. In the meantime, my salad comes with chicken instead of grilled shrimp. That goes back and I eat my very good Mac and cheese side while I wait. My husband has shrimp and grits which are not bad. Finally my salad comes. It’s average with its 5 grilled shrimp.
The food and service has gone way down at this place we will not be back.
Need to keep the catfish sliders on the menu. Plus, they need to stop serving drinks in plastic cups for customers dining in. Plastic cups should only be used for to go drinks.
Excellent food and service. Strongly recommend!! The duck appetizer was outstanding!
Excellent Coolinary options. Continues to provide excellent dining experience for locals and visitors.
We ate lunch there twice this week. First visit, service and food were excellent. The waiter told us he couldn't do separate checks but could take separate payment for our orders. Two days later, it took over 45 minutes to get meh food from waiter who said he could only split our bill in half. So, the experience may vary for you as it did for us.
THE HOST WAS NOT PLEASANT, HAD RESERVATIONS BUT STILL HAD TO WAIT 15 MINS, THE FOOD WAS OVERPRICED AND NOT GOOD. SHRIMP WAS TINY FOR THE PASTA DISH THAT COST OVER $20. JUST OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS NOT GOOD
Service poor food rushed. For New Orleans this is low end.
Very disappointed in recent dining experience. Server seemed overwhelmed and there was a feeling of overall understaffing. No clean water bottles for our table, Cornbread muffins were dry and over baked and the boiled shrimp were over cooked and impossible to peel. Last time we dined there it was also disappointing...we were hoping for a better experience but that did not happen. The location is great if attending events at Smoothie King or Superdome however experience has become disappointing. We will be dining at one of the many options in the area in the future.
Was not as good as it was the last time we ate there—a lot to be said about consistency
