I did my review in Resy but the service was not good. The service was inattentive and in three occasions I had to get up from my table and get help. At all times he was just on his phone or just in a daze!!! The final straw was when we needed more bread for the Gambas, I had to get up and find him to ask for more as he went ghost. The food was brought by others and he simply never came around to ask if everything was ok. He brought the bread COLD which is not how it is served with dish. Prior to that he was playing with his hair on his cell drinking a beverage. I understand that servers have ti eat but take your break then! I finally got the manager to have the bread done properly. Once she brought it back to use, manager continued to chat it up with some patrons at the bar. No service recovery was ever done. No apology. They replaced the original server with someone else who was better but this dining experience was just not good and I have been here multiple time. Will avoid this location unless some changes are made.

I started our evening giving the waitress my credit card, to ensure we would be checked out on time for a show. We literally did not see her again and it took an extra 20 minutes for her coworkers to find her and ring up our bill. The food was good and service just felt inconsistent and, while a “tag team/everyone covers all tables approach” can work, the guest shouldn’t be left wondering how and who to flag down for attention.

10:30am Sunday brunch in a vacant restaurant and the music was so loud, it felt like we were in a club on a Saturday night. We asked 3 times for it to be turned down — it didn’t happen. I couldn’t hear the server at the end of the table ask for my order. We were seated (in a vacant restaurant) under the speaker so that didn’t help matters. Along those same lines, with a toddler and a set of grandparents with mobility challenges, a high top table was the absolute worst seating we could have been given. The host (who was likely the manager) was not concerned. The food was delicious. The server friendly. But dishes remained uncleared and drinks unfilled while all the servers socialized in the vacant restaurant. Dessert was dropped off to a table full of dirty dishes—food from the entree course all over the table. We had to ask for clean plates. At the end of the meal while we were preparing to leave, the dishwasher started directing us to hand him dirty dishes and utensils. To make his job easier? It would have been easier if he had waited an additional 15 seconds for us to leave. I was mortified as he told my mother in law which plates to hand to him. Icing on the cake was the elevator didn’t work so my father in law had to hobble down the stairs. Miserable experience. Never again.

DIssappointing first visit. Patatas bravas were very crispy/well done/burnt, and the croquettes de setas luke warm. The octopus itself on the Pulpo a la plancha was easily the best bite of the meal, however the potatoes served under them were underwhelming and luke warm too.

Server was not knowledgeable and was not attentive at all. Bummer that 20% tip is included he did not work for it at all. No water at the table and had to call him over every time very subpar experience. Birthday dinner was not acknowledged at all. They can do a lot better

Food was delicious! We ordered a lot from apps to desserts. And all the servers - especially food runners and bussers were EXTREMELY attentive, kind and also professional, and we highly appreciate their service level!! They made us enjoy our time and food a lot more. Besides, those receptionists could be better.. Either friendly or professional manner can be appreciated. Overall, it was great dinner experience at Boqueria.

Unfortunately, a very large and extremely loud alcohol fueled birthday party group made it nearly impossible to hear even a shouted conversation with the person I was sitting next to let alone with the server. She did her best under the circumstances. We received our food as ordered which we did in Spanish in order to communicate effectively. The food was as expected but limited and expensive. Frankly, for the money, we could have had a better meal elsewhere. When our original very competent server went off duty, the replacement basically ignored us unless we seriously flagged her down. In hindsight, we should have sat outdoors, but the day was quite hot and vehicle traffic was lively and close to those tables.

This was my first visit to boqueria and i had the broccoli tapas dish and the asparagus tapas dish along with the shishito pepper marg. All were delicious. The marg is only improved by swapping out the ice “pebbles” for one cube or sphere (the ice melted relatively quickly), otherwise, wonderful experience.

Good choice if you are looking for Spanish tapas. The waiter was especially helpful when making the best choices on the menu. The outdoor seating was pleasant, although there was no need for the loud music.
