A sparkler was added to the dessert I ordered (the waitress overheard it was my birthday) and everyone seated outside sang happy birthday- a fun touch and much appreciated!
I have very mixed reviews. Our waiter forgot to put our food order in for 45 minutes and then when we asked him about it he was defensive and unapologetic. While he was not great, the manager came over to diffuse the situation and she was excellent. The food we had ordered and 2 pitchers of sangria were on the house, which was really amazing. They handled it well, but our waiters attitude was an issue up until the end.
The hostess was surly.
And the policy that even those with a reservation have to wait for ~2 hour for outdoor seating is ludicrous.
It was amazing! I can't wait to visit again. The server was attentive and the food was perfect.
Amazing food. Waiter was odd and i told staff twice the bathroom had no toilet paper.
Great tapas! Some of it came out cold, which was disappointing and conflicts with the tapas style (small portion food served when ready), but after noting it with waiter, the rest was timely and warm. Service was ok - only recommendations were for the most expensive items on the menu. Waiter didn’t knock off anything after our complaint - not surprising, but would have a been a nice gesture. Ambiance was really good - good vibe, not too noisy or cramped.
Excellent food, prompt and constant attention from wait staff. Highly recommend the weekend brunch.
Good food. Very noisy. Good food. Very noisy. Good food. Very noisy.
I love Boqueria. The tapas are nice. But the churros are heavenly. The best I have had outside of Madrid.
Had an excellent meeting
Great place for lunch - but book a seat as it's popular and fills up quickly! Delicious food, attentive service, pleasant Spanish music - what more can you ask for?!
Good tapas and drink selection, service was slow
We went to celebrate our engagement. Service was good, food was amazing and the atmosphere was nice. The patas bravas have just the right amount of spice and the sangria is delicious!!
Great spot for a family Easter Brunch. Relaxed, attentive service, wonderful food variety, and reasonably priced. We all had a good time. When they say bottomless brunch, they MEAN bottomless!
We booked in for the bottomless brunch on Saturday of the Easter holiday weekend and loved it. $40 each for bottomless mimosas and all the tapas you can eat was great value, but more importantly the food itself was delicious. The staff are very attentive, never letting your glass go past half empty and checking in regularly on your tapas. I will definitely be recommending this to friends and calling in again next time I'm in DC.
Great service, food and wine
Love having the bottomless brunch! I could come here every weekend!
Amazing food and drinks. The place is always packed but it’s impressive how quickly they bring the food out and top up your drinks (weekend brunch). One downfall is that there is always a line for the bathroom and that they are not well kept, normally dirty. Sometimes i go over to the bar next door to use the bathroom cause it’s quicker. Because it is so busy the restaurant can be loud.
French toast, chicken fingers, tomato toast, omelette bites is 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
The food is really fabulous and the sangria is quite good too. This is a great place. My only criticism is that it gets pretty loud and the waiters don't check in quite as often as they should.
We went in for dinner. Food was great... especially the gambas shrimp and the cheese plate. Was a bit pricey for the portions but tapas in general is quite expensive. Would definitely recommend.
Very good. A solid go-to for lunch, cocktails, or dinner. The hosts were not particularly welcoming but the serving staff were fantastic. The food is top-notch. I highly recommend starting with one of the vermouth drinks, paired with some cold tapas like olives or some of the excellent iberico hams before moving on to mains. The Spanish wine selection is really very good as well.
A perfect meal as always at any of the Boqueria restaurants. Given that it was a last minute reservation, and it was a Saturday night the service was beyond superb. Our server was amazing; very attentive without that 'in your face' feel.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Spanish food.
We had a lovely dinner in a great atmosphere with an energetic vibe. Dinner for 2 came out to about $100 per person... which is a lot, but seems to be pretty normal in the trendy parts of DC.
Well located in DuPont Circle. Bar style space with lots of high top tables. Food was outstanding and varied and the churros were a delicious ending. Cava and wine a bit overpriced for the selections. Service was harried as our reservation was near the end of the evening, however the Spanish speaking assistant server was a delight!
Dupont Circle venue, nice selection of tapas, all orders were tasty and well-prepared.Good service, but a high noise level, needed to be reseated as we could not hear ourselves think in our initial location. However management was very accommodating and we were moved to a quieter part of the restaurant. No complaints otherwise, a very good dining spot to which we will return.
Service was great. Food and drinks were blah. Not terrible but not very good.
Great brunch. Nice atmosphere. Decent service
I have been there a few times and it is always a pleasure to be back
My friend and I went there for lunch. She had the shrimp and I had the lamb meatballs, and we agreed it was one of the best lunches we had had for awhile. The food was great. It was a very relaxing time.
Came here for dinner with some out of town family earlier this week. The food was really solid — though some of it had clearly been prepared earlier / was sitting out based on how quickly it arrived and how lukewarm it was — and the service was great. The churros ice cream sundae was outstanding, as were the mushrooms and mushroom croquetas.
My one major complaint: the tables were WAY too close together. Nowhere to put your purse, coat, or even get in and out between seats.
Extremely slow service. Tapas selection was limited, though lots of wine. Foods came out very slowly. Seating was very uncomfortable (chairs), unless you sit in the booth. Would not come back again, except for maybe drinks.
Great tapas! Loved the happy hour.
My experience at Boqueria was great! I met a friend for Sunday brunch. They were able to seat us earlier than our reservation and the service was great. Very attentive server. We did bottomless brunch and it was totally worth it! The food and drinks are delicious. I particularly enjoyed the bloody Mary shots and the french toast, but you really can't go wrong with any of the options.
The food is amazing!
We went for the bottomless brunch. All the food we ordered was great. Highly recommend the French toast. The mimosas were also very good. However, the sangria needs a lot of work, especially for a tapas place. The staff was helpful, friendly and attentive.
The food was good, but I don't think anything we had was particularly good. The cheese was okay, the cauliflower was unremarkable, and these things should be better as this is a Spanish tapas restaurant. The bread was alright and I'd describe the rest of the food as okay. The tortilla was kind of flavorless, which is disappointing because this is, again, a tapas place. A highlight was the calamari, which is a bit on the salty side and quite tiny, but well done with squid ink beans. Another good pick was the eggplant. Finally, the crema catalana was delicious and so were the churros. The flan; however, was a hot mess. It deflated in the oven so it was very flat and had a weird texture. Service was great and attentive for a large table. I'd come back for drinks and happy hour.
After couldn't get a reservation at Rasika or Old Ebbitt Grill on short notice on a Friday, met with long-time-no-see friend here. We were there primarily to visit, but the server was very no-pressure, and we moseyed through the menu, had a few drinks and shared a dessert. Place was hopping, but never got the stink-eye to recycle the table. Food was good-great (fabulous pulpo a
la plancha, great lamb skewers. Server got a nice tip for not rushing us. Recommended.
The food was excellent, especially the paella. We ordered a cheese plate, bacon wrapped dates and the paella. Every dish was great, we left stuffed and happy!
I’ve been here four times in less than 3 weeks. Quality of food and service are always consistent. Like reviewers before me said the churros are to die for. I think this is the best tapas place in DC area.
