Boqueria is a great place and the food is authentic Spanish Tapas. I loved everything we had but it was very hard to have a conversation there. I wouldn't recommend for a work dinner but with friends.

We have been wanting to go to Boqueria for quite some time as we have heard a lot about it. However we were very disappointed at what we found. In short, the tables were too close together to pass between them(6-8"), the place was extremely loud, the food was, for no better word, lackluster and not at all up to the standards of other tapas restaurants that we frequent in DC. Other than the drinks and the service this was an extremely unsatisfying dining experience. We will not return.

I went here on a date and had the Chef’s menu with the Seafood Paello. It was a bit pricey at $45 a person but worth every penny. Every course they brought out was scrumptious and we both had way more food than we good possibly eat. Waitress was attentive and we really enjoyed our evening! Highly recommend.

I went into Boqueria with the intent of comparing it to the one in London and knowing I would be disappointed. I was extremely surprised! Food was amazing and the service was good so I walked out giving the one in London the edge only because the ambiance was more formal and cozy.

Noisy and happy, Boqueria has a lot of energy. The experience of dining at a Tapas restaurant was new to me, but something I will do again. Catalana sampler, the potatoes brava, and the bacon wrapped dates were very, very good. Service is great, prices appropriate for the experience

Boqueria is always consistent. No surprises and the quality of the food is always high. Love to grab a business lunch with colleagues and order a selection of 5 or 6 different tapas. Lamb meatballs, octopus, and spinach are among our favorites. Fantastic white sangria too! There is something for everyone here.

Food is great, drinks are fantastic (and strong - I hate bars that make weak drinks!). The place can be busy and a little loud if you come at happy hour. Make sure to make a reservation. Ask for the shishito peppers even if they aren't listed on the menu! The staff were happy to accommodate special requests which is great for those of us on restricted diets.

We were there about 7 on a Friday night and the place was crowded and a bit noisy, but the food was great, our server was attentive and overall we had a good experience. Wine was a bit pricey, but the selection was good. We'll go back.

We were in DC for the Marine Corps Marathon and came here the night after the race for dinner. We've been to a number of Spanish Tapas themed restaurants in L.A. where we live, so we had a pretty good idea of what to expect with regards to the food selection. The restaurant is very spacious with plenty of seating in several areas, and at the bar, and outside in the patio. We sat inside, and it was a bit warm for me, but I didn't mention it to the staff. They have wide variety of cocktails including sherry and vermouth cocktails, which I was curious about but didn't try. I did try the red sangria which was excellent, made with gin instead of schnapps so not too sweet, as well as a bourbon based cocktail with rhubarb infused amaro and soda, which was also excellent. We didn't try any wine but they had a large selection of Spanish wines on their list.

They offer tapas in a wide variety of styles, they also offer several tasting menu options, a standard and a premium which included Iberico ham. We decided to do the premium tasting menu.

On the positive side, it was a generous amount of food, more that we had expected, and most of the dishes were very tasty. On the flip side, it seemed like they were including the most basic dishes in the tasting menu, not the most creative or interesting ones. There was a lot of bread, the first three dishes were Iberico ham with baguette, cheese with fruit & nut bread, and grilled bread with tomato. Every subsequent dish included bread or potatoes. The Iberico ham was very good, as were the potatoes bravas, and the streak with garlic and gorgonzola. But looking at the tables around us, we saw a number of dishes come out that looked really good, and we wondered why they hadn't included them in the tasting menu, as opposed to all the bread. Dessert was churros (more bread!) and chocolate sauce. We left feeling full and satisfied. If we came back again, we would definitely order from the menu not do the tasting menu again.

We went for dinner last Wednesday night when we were in DC. We spent twice as much the next night for a dinner that wasn't half as flavorful. The tapas are excellent and the meal was served at a pace that was just right. We didn't feel hurried and we never felt ignored. We went back for Saturday brunch (the deli we had planned to go to was closed) and again were not disappointed. There was not a single dish that disappointed. Everyone will love the croquetas, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. One thing we didn't order was the paella, since we wanted to opt for more dishes and the paella is kind of big. The signature cocktails we tried were also excellent (their version of a Manhattan, the "A Las Cinco" actually goes great with food!)

I've eaten here several times - always enjoy the tapas, and this time tried the paella, which was very good. My only gripes? Seated at kind of a crummy, cramped table --a bit of a purgatory where nothing was exactly wrong (and I couldn't see any other better options) but we couldn't move without the people next to us knowing about it. And though I always like the food here and find it one of the better options in the area, the volume makes it a tough place to catch up. Will I come back? Of course. Do I hope they'll pay more attention to these other details? Yes.

Went to Boqueria for Saturday bottomless brunch - and wasn't disappointed. We arrived 30 minutes early, and they accommodated us despite a fairly full restaurant. They also cheerfully checked our suitcases which we had with us. We were seated next to a table of about 12 boisterous football fan friends in the small room upstairs behind the hostess stand - thus merely "good" on ambiance. We opted for the bottomless brunch and basically tasted everything on that menu. Food was exceptionally delicious - especially the mushroom fritters, the eggplant and pita dish, the crispy potatoes, the french toast, the lamb meatballs, the cheese plate, etc... Can't go wrong with any choice on the menu. The sangria tinta was awesome, as was the mimosa with "good orange juice" according to my dining partner. The coffee drink is a perfect complement for the dessert round which featured not-to-be-missed churros with a chocolate dipping sauce. The service started out almost too efficient - with food arriving faster than we could taste it. We asked for a slow down, and they adjusted to our pace! A terrific and tasty bargain for $39.

Great ambiance, good wine and great food led to a convivial atmosphere perfect for a party of 6 friend reunion. The one downside was that service felt a bit rushed, waiter kept bringing us the bill when we were not yet finished - so it ended up feeling like they were trying to move us along instead of allowing us to enjoy the experience. For the price we paid (also the amount of wine we drank - 4-5 bottles), one would think they'd allow us to stay until we were ready to pay the bill.

The food, atmosphere and service here are all outstanding! I love the food from Spain, and this is as authentically Spanish as it gets! The tortilla espagnola and jamon Serrano are the best in town, and they serve real sangria, not soda pop. Do yourself a favor, and try it.

This was my second visit to Boqueria, DC. My order consisted of patatas bravas, Gambas al Ajillo, Pintxos Morunos, and a pitcher of sangria. The pintxos morunos, which I very much enjoyed on my previous visit, were now overdone and the sangria was largely comprised of orange juice. We were underwhelmed and found ourselves searching relentlessly for flavor.

I camer here with some coworkers for bottomless brunch! The drinks were good with a few different bottomless options. The food was delicious as well but we ended up having to complain when about 20 minutes went by and no one had brought food out to the table when all the other surrounding tables were being served. A manager did come by and apologize and corrected the situation. Overall it was a good experience!

Had a great meal at Boqueria. They have a wide range of traditional Spanish tapas and plates and everything is shareable which makes it easier to be able to taste more options. Every bite we had was rich and flavorful - though the plates are smaller, we left feeling incredibly satisfied. Though the flavors were very traditional and made me think of my summer in Salamanca, it did not come with the traditional long wait-times of Spanish restaurants (what's the rush, after all?). Service was prompt and courteous and the food came out at just the right times. You must leave room for churros (even if you didn't leave room, get them anyways). I am definitely adding Boqueria to the list of restaurants I hope to revisit next time I am in D.C.

I am a big fan of Boqueria but my experience on Sunday night, dining with friends was different. All the food was extra greasy (they didn't bother to put their fried broccoli on a paper towel) and the quality of the hanger steak was sub-optimal, FULL of fat. I was disappointed. The only two hits were the mushrooms and the romaine salad.
