Boqueria - DC Ratings and Reviews
Three of us met for dinner on Monday night. Restaurant was busy but not packed, which isn't surprising given that it was Monday. Often, the individual tapas comes out all at once. I don't know if our experience was by design or happenstance, but our 6 items came out gradually over time, so our table was never too crowded and we didn't feel rushed. We had a great dinner. Wish I could survive on the datiles con beicon....
The food was pretty good, but I have had much better tapas at other restaurants. Also, the price per dish was pretty high, about $10 to $12 was the average when I'm used to $6 being the average at other places (and tasting better). Really cool and creative food, but way overpriced for what we got. Pretty neutral on the place overall. Wouldn't have gone if we didn't have a gift card. Plus seats were mashed together, so we were really close to others. Kind of annoying.
My boyfriend and I went for the bottomless brunch. I definitely feel that we got our money's worth. It's best if you order ALL the food you want at one time, they did a great job of spacing out when they brought out the plates so we had a steady stream of dishes coming. The drinks were good, but I do hate that they didn't have bloody marys (other than the shot that comes with one of the dishes).
I was disappointed with the wait time even though I made a reservations we waited for 20 minutes. The table was disappointing and uncomfortable- the food is good but a bit cold- also sides showed up before the mains- no coordination with the tapas as the kitchen was busy. The waitress was friendly but slow service.
Overall it’s disappointing. I’ve been there before but this time was aweful
The cheese and jamón plate was delicious. Not impressed with the batatas tapa and less impressed with the paella for two which was really cooked rice which was greasy and black in color with a couple of mussels and clams placed on top The table next to us had 4 indivials sharing the same size paella but again with slightly more shell fish placed on top of the rice rather than cooked with the rice.
Excellent food, wonderful ambiance, and great service. Went for a birthday dinner with family and our 3 kids and it was great. Loud enough that no one was bothered by our little ones but we could easily hear each other. Especially loved the mezze plate, cheeses, and Spanish tortilla
This is not our first time at Boqueria. As always, it is very good. Food is perfect timing and service is on point. From the hostesses, to the bussers, to the food runners and our server - A+!!!
Thank you so much for doing a great job and making my partner’s quarter century birthday memorable!
This was a special occasion, significant birthday celebration for my wife! This was the first time coming here and took a chance based on the reviews online. Food was excellent and the service was perfect, they timed the pace of the tapas so that we weren't rushed. Would definitely come back again for a repeat experience.
Brunch here is always amazing. Our server was a little slow to come around. The bottomless drinks and tapas are great although some of the better tapas have been removed from the bottomless menu. I’m annoyed that coffee was not included. Coffee should always be included at brunch! Still, I love this place. The crowd was odd this time around. There was a table that was exceedingly loud and I didn’t appreciate the woman twerking on her chair multiple times during the morning. The staff should have done something.
New Year's Eve Tapas Adventure! Many of our multi-generational five person party had never eaten in this style, so it was an adventure. It was a prix fixe menu with ten items including veggie, seafood, and meat -- every dish was delicious. Our server even brought a special substitution dish for one of our party's food allergy. Bottomless sangria (we enjoyed both the red and and white sangria) glasses were never empty. Such fun!
