I have been there a few times and it is always a pleasure to be back
My friend and I went there for lunch. She had the shrimp and I had the lamb meatballs, and we agreed it was one of the best lunches we had had for awhile. The food was great. It was a very relaxing time.
Came here for dinner with some out of town family earlier this week. The food was really solid — though some of it had clearly been prepared earlier / was sitting out based on how quickly it arrived and how lukewarm it was — and the service was great. The churros ice cream sundae was outstanding, as were the mushrooms and mushroom croquetas.
My one major complaint: the tables were WAY too close together. Nowhere to put your purse, coat, or even get in and out between seats.
Extremely slow service. Tapas selection was limited, though lots of wine. Foods came out very slowly. Seating was very uncomfortable (chairs), unless you sit in the booth. Would not come back again, except for maybe drinks.
My experience at Boqueria was great! I met a friend for Sunday brunch. They were able to seat us earlier than our reservation and the service was great. Very attentive server. We did bottomless brunch and it was totally worth it! The food and drinks are delicious. I particularly enjoyed the bloody Mary shots and the french toast, but you really can't go wrong with any of the options.
The food is amazing!
We went for the bottomless brunch. All the food we ordered was great. Highly recommend the French toast. The mimosas were also very good. However, the sangria needs a lot of work, especially for a tapas place. The staff was helpful, friendly and attentive.
The food was good, but I don't think anything we had was particularly good. The cheese was okay, the cauliflower was unremarkable, and these things should be better as this is a Spanish tapas restaurant. The bread was alright and I'd describe the rest of the food as okay. The tortilla was kind of flavorless, which is disappointing because this is, again, a tapas place. A highlight was the calamari, which is a bit on the salty side and quite tiny, but well done with squid ink beans. Another good pick was the eggplant. Finally, the crema catalana was delicious and so were the churros. The flan; however, was a hot mess. It deflated in the oven so it was very flat and had a weird texture. Service was great and attentive for a large table. I'd come back for drinks and happy hour.
After couldn't get a reservation at Rasika or Old Ebbitt Grill on short notice on a Friday, met with long-time-no-see friend here. We were there primarily to visit, but the server was very no-pressure, and we moseyed through the menu, had a few drinks and shared a dessert. Place was hopping, but never got the stink-eye to recycle the table. Food was good-great (fabulous pulpo a
la plancha, great lamb skewers. Server got a nice tip for not rushing us. Recommended.
The food was excellent, especially the paella. We ordered a cheese plate, bacon wrapped dates and the paella. Every dish was great, we left stuffed and happy!
I’ve been here four times in less than 3 weeks. Quality of food and service are always consistent. Like reviewers before me said the churros are to die for. I think this is the best tapas place in DC area.
Very uncomfortable tables and chairs
The place was amazing. The food is off the charts, the service was fabulous. What a great evening!
Excellent tapas, the right amount of spices, interesting taste combinations but not overdone, very good pacing of the servings (not too fast), not overpriced.
Boqueria never disappoinst, food is always hyper mega delicious and our waitresses Manuela made my wife bday extra especial. One thing that i would love to see again in the menu is the Butifarras with white beams (just a personal suggestion).
Boqueria is great for Saturday or Sunday Brunch with a group a friends.
My friends and I really enjoyed Boqueria. The food was delicious, and our waiter was attentive and helpful when it came to ordering. The only bad thing I can think of is that everything on the menu sounded so amazing that we ended up ordering more than we could eat
The food was great, but the service was slow. We had reservation at 1:45 and were given 2 hours for brunch, and the last call for food was at 3pm. Sadly, there weren't much food in the first 60mins, we spend half of the time waiting, and had to order all the dessert and the heavy meat items at the last call. Making it impossible to re-order anything if we liked it.
On another note, I personally loved Jamon, and the restaurant is able to just serve the Jamon without all the bread and cheese/olive oil that I didn't like. This shows they are really flexible and are there to serve you only the food you like.
Boqueria is a decent tapas place, but not the best one in DC. The food at Boqueria is excellent, with a wide selection and decent portions. But after that, the service is hit or miss. I went twice in one week, one waiter was top notch while the other was slow and didn’t seem to care. Also, this is a popular place for the late night crowd so expect a bit of a loud scene. Finally, due to location prices are on the high end for a tapas place imo. There are other places in DC that provide a better value
Food was okay, same with service. Nothing special. A little pricey.
Excellent drunk spot for happy hour. Not to loud that it is hard to hold a conversation but loud enough to be energetic. Lighting was nice and the food smelled good (didn't order anything this time)
I was very underwhelmed by the food. The croquettes were cold, the pan con tomato was absolutely disgusting that I had to return back and the churros that people were raving about were nothing more than reheated frozen dessert. I was very unsatisfied with my experience.
I had an amazing experience. Keep it up guys!!!!
Beautiful ambiance and excellent food presentation and taste.
The service was friendly. Great food and wines. Lots of choices on both. Suggestions from the wait staff when you asked for them. Cozy, fun ambiance.
We came for the bottomless (food and drink) brunch, this is a very popular brunch spot so there was a little bit of a wait for the food. This was my first time, I did not realize that the food comes out like "family" style, so you basically order for the table. I did like that they had other bottomless drink options (not everyone is a fan of mimosas). My favorite entree was the FRENCH TOAST! Everything else was just okay.
We had a great meal with the staff at Boqueria in DC, the food was FANTASTIC, the drinks were yummy, and the service was amazing!
Service was pretty slow for a Saturday brunch. There were a lot of food options but only 4 out of the many actually tasted good
Great food. Good drinks!
Food was fantastic! The waitress suggested 2-3 plates per person...we ordered 2 total and them dessert and were stuffed! No way we could have done 2-3 per person. Overall the food was delicious, cooked well and came out quickly. We will definitely be back for more.
Consistently good! The food is delicious - lots of good options. And there are several bottomless drinks to choose from.
A very fun place for brunch with lots of young people. The only complaint I have would be hat the noise levels were outrageous. I was yelling for most of the conversation. Otherwise, the food was decently portioned and good. The skewers were fantastic!!
The tapas at Boqueria are always delicious. Must try the tortilla!!
Nice ambiance and great food!
Excellent food and good brunch service. Very loud though as it is a small space
The food was Great!!. A little loud so if you are there and talking is important...
We enjoyed the variety of choices on the menu. Our server was very helpful and friendly. Food was delicious and it was nice to have the tapas served family style so it was easy to share. Thank you!
Three of us met for dinner on Monday night. Restaurant was busy but not packed, which isn't surprising given that it was Monday. Often, the individual tapas comes out all at once. I don't know if our experience was by design or happenstance, but our 6 items came out gradually over time, so our table was never too crowded and we didn't feel rushed. We had a great dinner. Wish I could survive on the datiles con beicon....
Food wasn’t good, ambiance didn’t match the normal vibe in New York & our waiter was extremely slow. He forgot parts of our order and didn’t write it down. We had to ask for our iced coffee three times
The food was pretty good, but I have had much better tapas at other restaurants. Also, the price per dish was pretty high, about $10 to $12 was the average when I'm used to $6 being the average at other places (and tasting better). Really cool and creative food, but way overpriced for what we got. Pretty neutral on the place overall. Wouldn't have gone if we didn't have a gift card. Plus seats were mashed together, so we were really close to others. Kind of annoying.
