Its been a while since I went out for tapas, I am always unsure of how full I will be at the end of the meal. I am so happy I visited Boqueria DC though - the entire experience was so great! The food was so good - the lamb skewers were incredible, cooked to perfection. The scallops and garlic shrimp were so tasty! And the churros filled with Nutella - out of this world! I can't wait until I can come back to DC and dine here again!
Although the food was very tasty and the drinks were plenty, I was unhappy with the service at Boqueria. I wish I could say I would recommend it--but I don't think I will because of the un-attentive service. I think when you pay for bottomless brunch, you should have an attentive waiter/waitress who wants you to get your value for the price you pay!
Delicious food, good service - great place for an unhurried dinner with friends who enjoying sampling and sharing!
I’ve been several times since i used to live a couple blocks way. It’s always been good, but for some reason the food last night was even more phenomenal. Our server was excellent, always coming by at the right time and super friendly and efficient.
Perfect brunch. Attentive service. Friendly staff for when your bottomless time runs out. Overall a great meal and great fun. Great for dates, friends get together, or a casual drunch.
Book early - reservations are tough to get. Would definitely recommend
Wonderful place to meet old friends
We had many different people of all ages and tastes for a business lunch. We ordered many different tapas, and everyone greatly enjoyed the experience. Our waiter was fantastic -- very attentive, and the food was flavorful without being too spicy. I would definitely go back.
Excellent. Catch up for friends attending a conference, perfect. Really very good. Will be back.
Bottomless Brunch was amazing. Food really hit the spot and the sangria's were not watered down.
As usual, our meal didn’t disappoint and service was prompt and friendly. We can always count on that. However, is it me or are the prices going up, or the portions shrinking? Our papas bravas order was half the size we are used to.
The bottomless brunch was amazing and transported us right back to Spain! We'll definitely be going back soon.
Lively place with good service and quality food. We liked it so much, we went back the next evening for a drink and appetizer at the bar!
Service was friendly, knowledgeable and consistent by each staff member we encountered. Food was on point and price wasn’t cheap but we knew that going in and they delivered. We had a 10yo a 12 yo and a 2yo and they were very accommodating. We made a 530 reservation because we had kids and I think that was the right decision for both us and the restaurant, as it was not nearly as crowded when we showed up versus when we left. Definitely worth the experience. Highly recommend.
Always love coming here for brunch with friends! Had exceptional service, which was a treat since many bottomless brunches don't have attentive servers.
Hands down the best Tapas place in the DC area. We have visited our friends who moved to the area 3 years ago and every time Boqueria is amazing.
Need more bathrooms! There are only 4 toilets for a restaurant that seats a couple of hundred, where people are eating and drinking for sometimes up to 2.5 hours.
Excellent tapas, especially the croqettes and jamon. Nice casual atmosphere. Good selection of wines by the glass. Nice spot to dine.
It was as usual, an amazing meal. Service wasn't as good as usual, my meal came more than 10 minutes before my friend's.
The waiter was slow and not as attentive as I am used to. We were also seated in front of an aggressive fan that blew cold air on us when it was cold and rainy outside and had to ask them to turn it down or off twice.
I normally LOVE this place, but today was less than I expected on the service side.
It was my first time, and I’ll definitely be back. The food and drinks were both on point! Patatas bravas, gambas, datiles, churros — all tasty and worth it.
Super pleased I decided on this place for Saturday brunch with a friend. Prix fixe menu was $39 for bottomless tapas AND bottomless alcoholic drinks (mimosas, sangria, leche de pantera). Amazing deal, they brought us one of everything on the brunch menu basically, which was too much for just 2 of us to finish, even though we brought our appetites. Our server was super attentive to refilling our drinks.
Standout dishes for us were the French toast, escalivada eggplant dip, bistec with egg, and of course the churros with delicious authentic chocolate. Everything we ate was tasty, the only thing that missed the mark was the bread with tomato spread; was very plain, not worth eating as you need to save room for more interesting dishes. Definitely recommend this as a brunch option with friends, family, or a date. I made a reservation and was seated immediately.
Food excellent. Catalan charcuterie hors d'oeuvre in particular reminded me of what I had in Catalunya and some other regions in the Iberian Peninsula. One minor disappointment was that the vegetables, presumably local, tasted differently and were disproportionate to the food with the best possible flavour in Catalan/Spanish style.
Ambience good. But music would not be really necessary in this place where people (often in a large group) enjoy talking aloud rather than just sit and focus on dining.
Service was splendid.
I would definitely return.
We had the garlic shrimps, the grilled octopus, pimentos de padron, the razor clams and the calamares. We enjoyed all except the calamares which were tasteless and disappointing.
Best brunch ever!
First time at this restaurant. As visitors to Washington, we have frequently gone to Jaleo on 7th and F but thought we'd try this instead, and it measured up very well. Nice wine list, good selection of hot and cold tapas, and two of us shared five of them, which was maybe a little more than we needed: calamares, gambas, pulpo, mushrooms, and a salad.
Food and drinks were good, but nothing to write home about. Booth seats were awkwardly narrow. Service was great.
Great food and ambiance. Service is good considering how packed it gets. It does get pretty busy (loud) at happy hour.
great food, more dished would be nice. Felt the options were somewhat limited.
It was great! Fresh & delicious
Pricey for small portions. Sunday evening. Horribly slow service. Sangria was good. Should have gone to Jaleo or Oyamel.
I know how much work goes into producing a product like theirs, and am reluctant to be critical.
I can not recommend this restaurant. The seating was uncomfortable, there is an institutional effort on a very hard upsell, and most importantly the food was better than average but lacked the high level authenticity I go to ethnic restaurant s for.
It seemed to me to be a place that was spot on at some point, but no longer is.
I live close to the Boqueria in NYC. So I wanted to try the DC location as I love their food. The DC location did not disappoint. Good food as expected, but better ambiance than the one in NYC. The seatings are not as crammed as NYC location. And the high leather bench was comfortable.
Went there on Saturday around 7pm when it wasn't full, but it filled up and got louder by 8:30 - 9pm. Many couples on a date.
The service was slow, but we did not mind. Sangria was good, if it was with a bit too much ice.
Loved the shrimp and pork belly (special), and octopus.
The bottomless brunch/tapas was amazing! Our glasses were never empty, and the tapas were delicious.
We visited this vibrant restaurant twice during our stay in Washington DC and enjoyed both evenings. The place is quite noisy but with a nice atmosphere.
We liked the food (excellent tortilla and a goat cheese to kill for on gheir cheese platter) and the wine selection is good.
Crazy noisy and busy. Not ss wide variety of dishes to choose from. A little cramped seating. More like a happy hour bar than a nice place for a meal.
The food is always good-- the patas brava, flake steak, everything! Don't forget the churros. Service is great as well. It's gets loud and busy in here so if you're expecting to have a good conversation, you might want to come early :)
We enjoyed our lunch at Boqueria, tasty food and great service. Lunch specials are really nice
We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday
Just excellent. One of my new favorite places in DC. All plates were delicious. It's expensive but unlike other places it was actually worth it. Great service, get the flan. The wines and beer are awesome. Good atmosphere.
