Food was delicious. Service great. Location was really great.
It was a 40th birthday and there were a bunch of us dining here for the first time. The host was very friendly but the server seemed perturbed. There was another group seated near us and it felt like we had to fight to hear each other. The space was nicely decorated but the noise just seemed to bounce off the walls and magnify. The mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts were fab. The NY strip was cold when served and the tacos looked and tasted like they’d been made the day before (cold and dry). Overall wouldn’t recommend.
Great food, great service. Would definitely go back.
I don't often experience a restaurant where 3 out of the 4 dishes are bad. Complimentary cornbread was honestly the best item, then followed by the pulled pork tostadas. Otherwise we found the brussel sprout salad so acidic that it was hard to swallow and we had to return it. We found a similar problem with the salmon fritters. The pork belly was as tough as rubber. I've had pork belly many times but it's always so soft and melts like butter. Not here. Service was great, ambiance was ok but too bright and empty. Awkward layout. Drinks were well prepared.
Great food, fast friendly service. Had the pulled pork, brisket, brussel salad and baked beans. All were delicious; good portions for two to share.
No complaints. The food was excellent, the service was good, and the prices were relatively reasonable. The corn bread was really tasty and the combination of meat dishes (pulled pork, beef tartare, pork belly, fried chicken) were all great. Definitely adding to my rotation of nearby restaurants to visit from time to time!
We had a party of 6 people on a Sunday night and we had an excellent dinner. Service was great and everyone loved the food. It’s family style service and our server was a great help at ordering enough plates for all of our party. Amazing food .
The food was excellent, very unique and flavourful. Excellent service in a very intimate setting. Would definitely come back in the future.
Great food and service.
Made a reservation for 7:00 not knowing if it would be busy
The reservation was not required as we were the only diners. No one else came in to the restaurant the whole time we were there. It was a Monday so a quieter night however it was still a weird private dining experience.
That aside all the dishes and cocktails we had were very good.
Very confusing experience, cocktails were awesome and some of the food was excellent, however they made some very odd choices when it comes to the food. We had a lovely beef tartare for starters, which was ruined with some underwhelming tortillas chips, which just didn’t go together. We also had the torched tuna which again came with boring tortillas chips and left us frustrated with our experience. The final problem was with the steak, which came out a while later on its own and was cold. It had been sliced on mash potatoes with gravy and didn’t taste or look great. We sent it back and decided to cut our losses and leave. Wouldn’t recommend which is a shame because it’s our local smokehouse and I really wanted it to be great.
Great food and great service. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable of the menu.
It is an interesting place. Food has a nice taste. Need to know how to order the food as it is all tapas. Need to know how to pair dish es otherwise you end up being a carnivor.
Service was warm and friendly, but slow. Food was patchy - some good options and some just so-so. Draught beer choices not as wide as on the website. Wine options fairly good, particularly the sparkling wines (choice of four by the glass).
It was a great evening and everything we ate was delicious.
Great cocktails and service! Would go here again for a cocktail.
Nice ambiance and friendly staff. Some food items were really delicious while others were underwhelming, but overall it was a very good experience.we had a surprise birthday for one of the guests and they allowed us to bring a cake at no extra charge, which was a very nice and appreciated gesture.
Best restaurant I've been to in years, and I go to a lot of restaurants. I was talking about how much I liked everything with my girlfriend for a while after, and also during the dinning experience. Food was perfect. Music was perfect. Ambiance was perfect. I would recommend it to anyone. But I wont because I want to keep it a secret. It's my new favourite downtown restaurant. Hands down.
Frankly, a bit disappointing. While the food was serviceable, it was unremarkable. The andouille sausage needed a bit more flavor, and the brisket was tender was similarly lacking in oomph. Perhaps I was expecting a more traditional southern-U.S. style cooking than I should have been.
There for Mother’s Day brunch and fixed menu selection was wonderful. Something for everybody including vegetarian.
The brisket was fantastic, great location, good value for cocktails
Although the service was excellent, the "smoked" meat was not smoked, rather sous vide and then put on the grill to get some smoke flavour. The brisket was the worst I have ever had. Period.
This was a delicious and filling brunch at a good price point for downtown. The brunch cocktail menu was inventive and the drinks were refreshing. If your group loves meat this is the place to go.
Grabbed some dinner with a friend on a whim and was pleasantly surprised at this hidden gem.
We sat at the bar for a drink and ordered from their original cocktail list. I had the Tomoka which was phenomenal and after some deliberation my friend was steered towards the Harlem sunrise by the bartender, which she loved.
After chilling out at the bar we grabbed a table and perused the food menu. Our server was amazing, she was so helpful in explaining the shared concept of the menu & after some consultation with her we settled on 6/7 items.
The highlights were definitely the brisket, which was sublime, the huge portion of chicken & the sprouts.
Couldn't speak highly enough of my experience here and look forward to returning to sample their brunch!
Shockingly bad food for a restaurant in downtown Toronto.
Worst meal I’ve had in Toronto. Service was beyond slow and our meals all arrived at different times. “Corn bread” was burnt and had a fishy taste. 2 meals were stone cold! So much salt it was virtually inedible. Server offered us complimentary donuts for the mishaps and we waited 20 mins. after paying and they never came! Do not recommend.
We booked the reservation last minute, did not know what to expect going into the restaurant and we weee amazed by it. Nice ambient atmosphere, was not too loud so you could talk nicely without yelling. The food was amazing with the sharing style plates. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the food on the menu to assist with making decisions
Good food, quiet, nice atmosphere. Good for groups
Food was only okay for BBQ. Portions were small for “shareable” plates. Room to improve.
Neat and unique tapas-style BBQ spot, but unfortunately the food isn't on par with more traditional barbeque/southern joints. Also quite expensive given the smaller portions. Service was great, especially given our large party of 12.
Amazing cornbread. Great time. Thanks
The food was awful and cold
Irish Server/bartender was fantastic. Other server was ok. Food was good but didn’t blow us away.
I took my husband to Bootleg for his birthday, we live in the area and had yet to try it. It was very quiet, that being said, it was a Tuesday, which also made the evening more intimate for us. The food was delicious, the drinks impeccable (the bartender we had really knows what he is doing), and the service was fantastic. Overall our evening was incredibly fun, we left with our bellies full and will definitely be going back!
The food is of good quality but the pacing of the meal was terrible. We ordered 5 dishes, the first 3 came within the first 10 min. We finished eating and the last 2 dishes came 20 min later. The service started out phenomenally and then we were unattended for a long period of time. It was a strange experience to say the least.
Good atmosphere and service but food was disappointing.
The wait staff was very nice but less than available. The food was not worth the money. I expected a rich smoky flavour to the food but mostly got a strong, fake, liquid smoke taste. The Mac waited another 10 minutes for our server to come back and comment "oh, you don't want the dessert?"... finally got the bill and left. The staff were very pleasant but always seem to be missing from the floor and the food was subpar for the price.
It was nice being one of the only ones there...will come back. Make the cornbread bigger tho please
The Sharing plates were great! Would highly recommend the tostadas and Brussels sprouts!
Really enjoyed the food! It was a nice mix of BBQ style with some twists. Pulled pork tostadas and brussel sprouts were absolutely delicious.
