The food was amazing! It’s one of my favorite brunch spots in the Twin Cities!
Great birthday brunch on the patio. Delicious food and coffee drinks. Friendly and helpful service.
So great!! Amazing wine list and menu! Will be back
The food was outstanding surpassed only by the exceptional and friendly service
Now if only they’d add some lobster to their mac and cheese!
Great food, only surpassed by the amazing fun and friendly staff there! Thanks for making our family brunch memorable. Definitely put our special request "spa water" on the menu! This was my second time there within a couple of weeks. Both times it was stellar!
I really wanted to love this place because the decore is well done and inviting, and the brunch menu descriptions were promising. When the food arrived, however, it was clearly food I would throw together at home. For example, one item described a dish with eggs, avocado, and fingerling potatoes, but then when the plate arrived, that was very literally the meal. A scoop of avocado, two limp poached eggs haphazardly sitting aside the avocado, and some fingerling potatoes only seasoned with salt and pepper. That was way too underwhelming for a $12 dish.
The servers were very friendly but the kitchen was extremely slow. The food was good, but not good enough to return.
Very healthy meal! Had the rice bowl at the server’s recommendation. Great lemonade. Tasty fries that rival State Fair fries. Chocolate cake was to die for. Would definitely return!
Stopped in with some friends who were from out of town for Brunch. We ordered the custard French Toast, Pancetta Benedict, and scrambled eggs with pico and sour cream. All of it was excellent and very filling. And cooked to perfection.
Unfortunately there appeared to be 1 maybe 2 servers for the whole place so service was extremely slow and we had to work hard to get water, coffee and drink refills. So asking for extra syrup or ketchup was just out of the question.
Great food but the service could use a few more people to help out!
The service was poor because our group was there for brunch and took over 40 minutes to receive our food from the time we places our order and then there was at least a 10 to 15 minute lag time from the first of our party to be served to the last with no apology or explanation being offered and some of the food was cold.
Went on a Sunday around 9am. There were only one to two other couples in the restaurant. We ordered our food and waited 40 minutes!!! 40 minutes for eggs and potatoes!! Yes they tasted good but would I go back? Definitely not
The green curry mussels were delicious. The cocktails were wonderful. Our entrees were very good, but not so great that we would want to have them again. We liked the ambiance and our server was nice, but we waited a long time for our drinks and food to be served. Overall, we had a good experience, but won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
Everything we ordered was tasty. The mussels with coconut curry and dumplings was exceptional.
We liked everything about it and will recommend it!
Went for their breakfast/brunch. Ordered the eggs benedict with roasted tomatoes and spinach. I've heard that getting a basted egg is a chef's challenge and apparently it was just exactly that. Plate came out looking awesome but the yolks were solid like a boiled egg. The server went back to the kitchen and later told me that they were making me a completely new order. However, after nearly 15-20 min, the server came out exasperated stating the "new" chef kept breaking eggs. I never got my new order and left. They did comp the whole meal for my wife and I. I'd recommend trying but be patient as they only just opened and perhaps the breakfast crew are still working on perfection.
We ordered 2 craft beer, dinner special (po boy oyster) and Bali Chicken for our 20th anniversary (noted when making the OpenTable reservation). The food was actually not bad (good pickled vegetables!!) but the chicken breast was SUPERDRY!! When telling the waiter (Eva,) she said, "oh, maybe it is just a dehydrated chicken" then walked away.
Really would like it to be our go-to place (only 7 minutes walk) but unfortunately I don't think it's going to happen...
Noise level is awful -- We had to shout during our entire dinner-- certainly takes away from "relaxed dining".
Great service. Have enjoyed both for brunch and for dinner.
My nose level rating could be due to sitting right by the bar. The food was very good. Excellent for the price. There were nice touches like grilling the radicchio in my salad. If I knew I were going to be in the neighborhood I would certainly eat there again.
Sadly this was our second visit and our last. There were excuses both times why we were served so slowly. Then one was not given what they ordered and we had to wait again. They comped us for that meal but it was not enough to bring us back. Two of us ordered the special and our chicken was over cooked. Poorly managed kitchen.
My first time at Book Club. What a great overall experience! The mussels were amazing and the roasted chicken was perfect. Gimlet cocktail was yummy. Will definitely return!
We enjoyed a lovely meal there for Father's Day. We like to try new things and found the menu diverse and the service excellent; the options we tried were all delicious. We will definitely go back another time.
Ambiance and service was fantastic. It was a great place for a date because of the layout and a good noise level. The food was very good however it was a bit overpriced for the small amount you got. I left the restaurant hungry. Overall I enjoyed the restaurant.
Meat and fish were undercooked
Had an early supper between an art visit and theater on a Sunday evening. Even at 5:15 the patio was full so if you want to sit outside....
Food was interesting, eclectic and quite good. We didn’t have a cocktail or wine but there were some interesting choices. We’ll go back (from St Paul) to meet friends from Edina.
The food tasted really good. But it took forever to come to the table and at least 2 of the 5 plates were barely warm by the time we got them. The restaurant was not busy so there was no obvious reason for it to have taken so long. Our dessert order also seemed to take forever.
We had been there two other Sundays after 12:30. This time it was ll:15 - bad time. Table wasn't ready, super noisy, error on the bill.
Place was LOUD, service was SLOW, and food was mediocre.
Not somewhere that I'll return.
The food was fantastic! The drinks were also amazing and the dessert. Loved it.
We are of the older generation and went with two other couples. The noise level was extreme but fortunately the weather was good so we moved outside and really enjoyed the food and the service. I truly hope something can be done about the noise level because a lot of people will choose not to go there just because of that issue.
Great muscles, snapper, kale salad, and desert. Also, someone put thought into the beer selection rather than just defaulting to every local brewery they could think of. Really great!
Everything was delicious and oh so satisfying!
Book Club is a great neighborhood restaurant with a super chill, yet energetic vibe. Our server, Tiffany, was awesome! Great service and super friendly. Love this place!
Great little spot. Absent waiter and mediocre food has us wondering if we will be back.
Service was very slow.
This was a great spot for a date night, we arrived earlier than our allotted reservation and were able to be seated right away! The drinks were very refreshing and we split multiple plates that turned out amazing with a great variety.
This place has become my new go-to place, at least for lunch. My 4th time here - food is always great, service is friendly. Always looking for a nice quiet place to meet with friends where you can hear each other? This is it. I had their turkey sandwich and a cup of delicious asparagus soup. Anxious to try dinner here as they offer several vegetarian options and my DIL and SIL are vegetarian.
We sat on the patio on a week night. Food was good but service was not. In response to our request for a wine recommendation, he quickly named the most expensive choice without any explanation or asking what we were looking for. At the end of our dinner he rushed us out. He left the check before we were done and then checked on it no fewer than 5 times. It was a real put-off and left us with a bad taste in our mouths. We so rarely take the time to connect with our friends like this that we were disappointed that we felt rushed to end our conversation.
Got there for happy hour drinks, good deal. The cauliflower burrito was great and not what you expected
Then the half chicken and fish. Delicious!!!!
Good/interesting food! Noise noticeable when tables were full but not when crowd lessened.
