Ready for the new location to open JD
Bonterra was always one of our favorites. We will miss them in the neighborhood but look forward to seeing them when they reopen near SouthPark in 2022.
Great food and atmosphere. Unfortunately closing for good this week.
We wanted to dine in the church building one more time before the restaurant moves to its new location. The food, as always, was incredible and the service stellar. We love Bonterra and plan to continue eating there for years to come.
Best Dinner I’ve had in a while! The food was phenomenal and so worth every dollar, unlike other “fine dining” restaurants. Can’t wait for the new location to open, hope they’re able to capture some of the charm and atmosphere of the old location.
The food was amazing, as usual, and the service fantastic. I hate that Bonterra is leaving the location they’re in now but I look forward to their next incarnation!
Food very good tasting and well prepared, with the exception of the asparagus. This surprised me but does not take away from the fact that all other dishes had very good flavor! Highly recommend!
A class act.
Our visit was very disappointing. Trying to enjoy one more time before these close. Food was an absolute disaster, as if their chef has already left. Had the Chilean Sea Bass that which tasted like a box of salt. Very disappointing last experience.
After 22 yrs. still awesome, sorry they're closing
Very pleased with our first time at Bonterra. Meal and wines were excellent as was service. Will go back again?
The serverDavid was attentive and helpful. Portions were just right and the duck was remarkable. My husband said it was the best steak he has had in years
I was disappointed that no servers or staff were wearing masks especially considering they were not "required" to be vaccinated. The protein portion of our meals were nicely prepared but the sides were served cold. That was done on purpose, but, I'm not a fan of cold sides in my dinner.
We used to dine here on a fairly regular basis pre-pandemic and wanted to revisit before Bonterra closes and moves to a new location. It was a disappointing return to what used to be a favorite special occasion restaurant.
We absolutely love the staff and dining experience every time we go! The food is the best around and the service is impeccable!
The veal chop I had was probably the best veal I'd ever had. Everyone else had the steaks and they were likewise amazing and cooked perfectly. Winter cocktails were good, although the Moscow Mules seemed a little watered down. Chocolate souffle was amazing! Our waiter was great too!
Bonterra is an excellent choice for any special occassion, particularly if you want to impress or show appreciation for the people you are with. Highly recommend.
Excellent service and knowledgeable staff! Thank you David
Amazing food and below par desserts
Nobody wore masks. Some food was very good. The standards were just tired standards. The service was fantastic but unmasked.
the waiter was very focused on 2 large tables it took forever to order and to get our food, one of our guests was trying to explain her palette for wine and was met with "well let me just bring you something" we ordered dessert and he never brought one of the desserts ordered for a guest so that caused an additional delay and quite frankly the experience was disappointing.
Waiter was in a hurry to take our order. We had to slow him down. We ordered two spreads. One was very good. The hummus spread was watered down like they were trying to make it go farther. I had a salad starter. The dressing was way too tart. We both ordered the halibut which came with carrots and saffron rice. YUCK!!! It was so bland. There was literally no taste. There were no spices. We both went for the salt and pepper to help it. I ate the fish which also need to be seasoned but at least it had some last. The topper was we told the waiter that it really wasn't good and needed seasoning. He then said that was his experience with the halibut from other customers. Worse no one came over and said hey sorry yo had a bad meal can we find a way to make it up so you will come back. NO! Waiter brought the bill and just wanted us to leave. NEVER again at Bonterra!!
Joanie was awesome!
Order the fried lobster tail. Totally worth it!
Service was outstanding. Fried lobster was delicious. Entrees were just ok.
The food, service and interior are outstanding. On a Monday night, tho’ we were almost the only diners (so we stayed four hours with no pressure to leave! I’ve been here a number of times over the years, and it’s normally full (at least, pre-Covid!). The menu offers less items than previously but it remains a very interesting range. Wine list is excellent.
We ate in the Wine Cellar and it was a great experience!
Celebrated my birthday. It was wonderful!
Great food and service and perfect ambiance for a Saturday night meal!
Always delicious! Great atmosphere
Enjoyed our food and the service was over the top as usual!
Everything was very nice!…dinner was awesome, the food is worth it. Must try!
What an amazing time. The food was delicious and our waiter was fantastic!
This was our first time at Bonterra, and it was. Wonderful experience. Excellent food. Terrific servers. Sitting on the patio was perfect on a fall evening.
My husband and I ate dinner here for our 1st wedding anniversary. We were drawn in by the repurposed church and stayed for the food. They had a great wine selection and the lamb lollipop starter was delicious. Our waitress quickly took our entire order and checked on us periodically without disturbing our meal. The main entrees were presented beautifully, one duck and one venison. If we didn't live so far away, we would definitely be back for seconds!
Service was awful. Food mediocre.
Perfect service! Very attentive server. Love Bonterra every time I go!
We went to this place on a date night to recon whether is would be a good place to get a chefs table for an upcoming birthday. We looked at the menu before hand, pricy, but not too much of it is of the highest quality. They clearly think much more of their food than I do.
We were disappointed not one employee was wearing a mask. Meck county has a mask mandate, I understand you can’t make all of your employees do it, but it felt like they were encouraging folks not to.
We ordered a carnitas and pork belly entree. It was $22. I’m totally fine paying that much for something like that but I expect it to be excellent and thoughtful. The idea behind the dish was good, but the execution was terrible. The carnitas were dry inside. They had clearly been microwaved., super hot on outside and cold inside. Same with the pork belly. The pork belly’s fat was super cold and not rendered, gross!!!
We asked for the check before we ordered our $60 (each) entrees. Again we are happy to pay that for excellent and thoughtful food. This place is not that!
Great restaurant and incredible food
Food was so bad we couldn’t even eat our mains.
Service wasn’t the best for a fine dining,
Don’t waist your money.
This is a great neighborhood gem with excellent food, a long wine list, and the staff is superb. If the weather is nice, be sure to sit on the patio.
We had a reservation, yet when we arrived the hostess let us know that “she would see what she could do to get us seated”. Once seated we were largely ignored by our server, seemingly because we were younger than the average 60 year old patron. The most redeeming portion of the meal was the build your own charcuterie board. This was good. However the main dishes left much to be desired. I got the ahi tuna and ordered it rare, however it came out well done. My girlfriend ordered the mahi which came out cold. Both dishes were over the top salty and overall underwhelming.
