Amazing food and below par desserts
Nobody wore masks. Some food was very good. The standards were just tired standards. The service was fantastic but unmasked.
the waiter was very focused on 2 large tables it took forever to order and to get our food, one of our guests was trying to explain her palette for wine and was met with "well let me just bring you something" we ordered dessert and he never brought one of the desserts ordered for a guest so that caused an additional delay and quite frankly the experience was disappointing.
Waiter was in a hurry to take our order. We had to slow him down. We ordered two spreads. One was very good. The hummus spread was watered down like they were trying to make it go farther. I had a salad starter. The dressing was way too tart. We both ordered the halibut which came with carrots and saffron rice. YUCK!!! It was so bland. There was literally no taste. There were no spices. We both went for the salt and pepper to help it. I ate the fish which also need to be seasoned but at least it had some last. The topper was we told the waiter that it really wasn't good and needed seasoning. He then said that was his experience with the halibut from other customers. Worse no one came over and said hey sorry yo had a bad meal can we find a way to make it up so you will come back. NO! Waiter brought the bill and just wanted us to leave. NEVER again at Bonterra!!

The food, service and interior are outstanding. On a Monday night, tho’ we were almost the only diners (so we stayed four hours with no pressure to leave! I’ve been here a number of times over the years, and it’s normally full (at least, pre-Covid!). The menu offers less items than previously but it remains a very interesting range. Wine list is excellent.

This was our first time at Bonterra, and it was. Wonderful experience. Excellent food. Terrific servers. Sitting on the patio was perfect on a fall evening.
My husband and I ate dinner here for our 1st wedding anniversary. We were drawn in by the repurposed church and stayed for the food. They had a great wine selection and the lamb lollipop starter was delicious. Our waitress quickly took our entire order and checked on us periodically without disturbing our meal. The main entrees were presented beautifully, one duck and one venison. If we didn't live so far away, we would definitely be back for seconds!

We went to this place on a date night to recon whether is would be a good place to get a chefs table for an upcoming birthday. We looked at the menu before hand, pricy, but not too much of it is of the highest quality. They clearly think much more of their food than I do.
We were disappointed not one employee was wearing a mask. Meck county has a mask mandate, I understand you can’t make all of your employees do it, but it felt like they were encouraging folks not to.
We ordered a carnitas and pork belly entree. It was $22. I’m totally fine paying that much for something like that but I expect it to be excellent and thoughtful. The idea behind the dish was good, but the execution was terrible. The carnitas were dry inside. They had clearly been microwaved., super hot on outside and cold inside. Same with the pork belly. The pork belly’s fat was super cold and not rendered, gross!!!
We asked for the check before we ordered our $60 (each) entrees. Again we are happy to pay that for excellent and thoughtful food. This place is not that!

This is a great neighborhood gem with excellent food, a long wine list, and the staff is superb. If the weather is nice, be sure to sit on the patio.
We had a reservation, yet when we arrived the hostess let us know that “she would see what she could do to get us seated”. Once seated we were largely ignored by our server, seemingly because we were younger than the average 60 year old patron. The most redeeming portion of the meal was the build your own charcuterie board. This was good. However the main dishes left much to be desired. I got the ahi tuna and ordered it rare, however it came out well done. My girlfriend ordered the mahi which came out cold. Both dishes were over the top salty and overall underwhelming.
Really good overall, a testament to their tenure. Great food and great service, with an exceptional wine list and specialty drink menu. A little pricing, but worth it large portions of high quality and fresh ingredients. Looking forward to eating here again.

Nice to go to a (fairly expensive) restaurant where the food is really excellent and the service is professional, efficient and mercifully unpretentious. That combination in waitstaff is so unusual these days, so I'll expand. First, was a huge plus for me that the waiter did NOT introduce himself - you know, the "Hi, I'm Bill and I'll be taking care of you this evening." He was middle-aged and a real professional, obviously quite experienced and at ease in his role, and thoughtfully competent. For example, he had obviously noted that the California Cab I ordered was the oldest decent vintage on their wine list (2014), because when he brought my selection to the table he also brought a 2007 of the same vineyard, which must have been a left over -- and offered me that one at the same price. Secondly, I'd note that he also asked only one time "How is everything?" versus the typical 2 or 3 interruptions per meal one suffers (as though an adult patron can't be expected to tell the waiter if something is wrong - so they keep asking). Lastly, he did not ask permission to clear our plates when we were obviously finished - he just cleared them. I could go on. And I will go back.

We had an absolutely incredible time
One ordered the halibut had to return it twice. First was overcooked and dry. The second time was raw and cold in the middle. The third time was delivered after everyone else had finished. The fish was presented in pieces and served with the original risotto that was now 20 minutes old and congealed. The 60.00 steak was average at best served with average potatoes. The highlight of the meal was the half off price they gave us on the halibut. So, if you like inflated prices, average food this might be your place
Menu was confusing and expensive. Lack of leadership on the floor was obvious.
Filet was ordered medium rare / it was raw - not edible.
We arrived early for a pre-show dinner. The wait staff were extremely accommodating to the member of our party who is on a very strict (and therefore restrictive) gluten- free diet making several modifications so she could safely enjoy her meal. Service was excellent. Unlike many other restaurants these days that are so loud you cannot hear yourself think, the ambience was very pleasant. Love the artwork on the walls. Food was delicious and perfectly prepared and served. The staff made sure we were able to enjoy our meal and leave on time for the show. We will definitely dine here again.
Food was spot on and service was outstanding. When told they were our of the lobster tail for the Surf & Turf, they offered up to substitute Halibut which was really yummy. Extremely friendly, engaging, fun and professional staff. They all seemed to enjoy what they were doing which is refreshing to experience, especially in this time of understaffed and overworked restaurant environment.

A busy Saturday night. The grouper was excellent, and the steak was a little more med, than med/rare. Otherwise all was good. The lemon soufflé was a wonderful way to end the meal.
The restaurant staff were not wearing masks, which are not mandatory yet, but in most restaurants, staff is wearing due to the increase in Covid numbers. The place was busy with losts of people occupying every space. Just a word of caution for those who don't feel confortable in these situations.
