Fantastic experience from start to finish. Excellent service, food, and wine list. Will definitely go back!
Superb food and wine list. Exceptional service. Delightful meal in a relaxed setting.
The lobster tail was great. Thought it was weird and disappointing that with a limited number of entrees they didn’t have a couple of them, which limited what we could choose.
We have been here several times and each time the food has been excellent and the service is friendly and very efficient.
Wonderful experience, all around.
The kitchen never disappoints, and the extensive wine list is reasonably priced.
One of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte - ! It’s beautiful and the service is impeccable. Sat at the bar and enjoyed the new summer Tuesday special Georgia hot fried chicken sandwich and pimento Mac & Cheese. It was delicious!!
Highly recommend Bontera 🌸💗
Visited Charlotte and looking for a one of a kind fine dining restaurant. We really got lucky with this one. When in Charlotte again this will be on our agenda.
Server was wonderful!! AC was strong and she brought a sweater for our daughter. Bread and charcuterie was delicious, but entrees were very disappointing. We have not been to Bonterra in a while and the menu is now very limited. I thought this would mean that dishes would be special and tasty. Too bad.
Bonterra did a first class job helping me put together an intimate dinner party for 10 in the wine vault to celebrate the life of my 93 year old mother who passed away a week ago. My mom did not want a funeral or memorial service, so this was a wonderful way to celebrate her memory among a few close friends. David, our waiter, did a magnificent job attending to our needs, keeping our wine glasses full, and making some great pairing suggestions.
Beautiful atmosphere, very helpful wait staff! Charcuterie was wonderful, great wine selection. We both felt that our entrees arrived a little on the cold side, but we didn’t want to make a scene about sending them back - plus it had already taken a while for them to arrive in the first place. We had a decent experience but I don’t feel like we need to go back again.
The hostess was not friendly and had a sullen attitude. The food was great but the Lemon Drop martini was very weak, as if it had been watered down. It was our anniversary which we had stated on the reservation, but the hostess nor the server mentioned it at all. When we told the server at the end of the meal, she said she did not know. Our complimentary anniversary dessert was banana pudding! It was a very disappointing anniversary dinner and we will not return.
Service was slow and not attentive.
I called ahead and asked for a surprise dessert to be brought out for me mother’s birthday, and they didn’t bring it. They had her order one and brought a candle out with it, which was nice, but I wish it had been a surprise.
Just fabulous! It was an anniversary celebration. Everything was perfect. They brought us complimentary champaign to start. Such a nice touch.
Such a great evening and perfect location to celebrate a birthday. We were bummed to find out they were out of burgers...but the Lobster Poboy was amazing! Great wine selection and the fresh rolls served before dinner were outstanding. We will be back!
Entire experience was superb. Food was delicious; sever was very pleasant and courteous; and the atmosphere was great. Have already recommended Bonterra to friends!
The food was okay. The service was excellent!! We had Daniel as our waiter and he was great, very informative.
Dinner at Bonterra was great. The atmosphere is very nice in an old converted church. It is elegant, but not stuffy. The acoustics were good and I was not distracted by too much noise. Had oyster appetizer which was very good. Also had the Fried Lobster Tail which I would highly recommend. My wife raved about the Gnocchi. I ordered the 12 oz Ribeye which was cooked perfectly. My only complaint for the entire evening is that there was sauce on the steak that was not needed. It was good, but it just didn't need it. Desert was a Strawberry Shortcake with Lemon Curd which put a great end to the evening. Service was excellent with the waiter being there just when we needed him, but also not obtrusive.
Overall, excellent meal. Told the wife we need to put this in our list for consistent rotation!
I usually love this restaurant. Not today. For Mother’s Day reservation, was not notified it was a buffet. Poor server. Cocktails delayed, and delayed,...arrived when we were almost finished with our meal. No music for majority of our time there. Just crowd noise. Music for our last 10 minutes. I felt like I was eating at a Holiday Inn. I will make sure when I go back that I only dine at night, and can order off a menu, and that I have a capable server.
Great Mother’s Day brunch choice. Didn’t realize it was a buffet, but it was terrific. Bloody Mary bar! Great Mimosas. And while beverages were being prepared, a small plate version of 2 different Eggs Benedict arrived. Seafood bar with oysters, shrimp, salmon. And all of that was just the warm-up to the omelettes, bacon and potatoes. Service was great. My only wish was that we were at a different table, but that was a small issue in the scheme of things. We will be back.
At Bontera’s to celebrate a birthday. Our waiter, David, was extremely friendly and a delight!! He was very knowledgeable of their robust wine menu and brought us a bottle that was exactly what we were looking for. Great staff, perfectly cooked meals, and all around superb experience!
What an outstanding Easter dinner.
The Easter buffet was quite limited but a value for what was offered. There was no dessert on the buffet! Service was superb.
Very nice, classic restaurant. Great for special occasions. Menu is short and where possible seasonal and local. I take this as a feature, not a bug, compared to places with 12 pages of too-many choices. Great ambiance and classy service. Excellent wine list.
Dinner in the wine cellar with colleagues was never better!
Intriguing setting, fantastic food, knowledgeable and professional waitstaff - I really can't recommend Bonterra enough. Delighted to find her tucked into a neighborhood in Dilworth, and now wish we lived right next door.
Nice but AC very drafty.
Food was good, great service and wine list.
Josh provides excellent recommendations and service. The restaurant itself was beautiful. The fried lobster tail was exquisite.
We love date night at bonterra. We often joins friends. The best and fabulous wine selection along with great food and company make a wonderful experience!
Waiter Jeff was excellent, attending our needs but not hovering 👍🏻
My red snapper was awesome... husbands was a little dry
Steaks were wonderful too
Great venue. Bar tender especially helpful with huge wine selection. Dinner excellent, as was service. Highly recommend.
Excellent for a lovely, quiet night out. Fantastic wine selection by the glass. Will return.
Our reservation was for 6pm so it was nearly empty when we arrived and nearly full when we left around 8. Great food, drinks and service. A good selection of options that was not overwhelming. Great experience overall.
Just not the quality it used to be. My last 2 visits have both been sub par experiences. Last time was in the spring and we sat outside. There was cigarette butts everywhere and I wrote an email. The service was consistently slow and incorrectly cooked food.
Great service and delicious food! I would definitely recommend!
Waiter was outstanding. Very attentive. Very personal. Food was fantastic everything was delicious. Lamb lollipops. Scottish Egg. Magnolia salad and creme brûlée was to die for.
