Food here is always spectacular and their happy hour martini special motivates us to go there on a Friday night. Duck two ways is my favorite dish with crispy succulent duck confit and roasted duck breast that is cooked perfectly and fork tender. The bouillabaisse is tomato based and slightly spicy and addictive. It is served with bread to soak up the broth. My only critique is that the live music in the bar is a little too loud to have much of a conversation and the music in the other room is sometimes too loud. The outdoor patio is my favorite place but it was raining on this visit.
Service was ridiculously slow considering we were one of three tables. Food was subpar
It is hard to beat the high food quality and the tremendous value. This is a neighborhood jewel.
We went about a month a ago and the food was exceptional! However this time we ordered the same food and found it not bad but at best mediocre.
Outstanding food and atmosphere‼️I was there one other time at lunch and it was wonderful, too! The cakes are beyond delicious and big enough to share‼️👍🏼
I hate picking on waitstaff, especially when It appears the waiter is new. But, this waiter got several orders incorrect...I ordered the ahi tuna appetizer, but what came to me was the dinner, which is different and not what I wanted. The hostess took it back, but it was served at the same time as my entree and I declined. I asked for aside of aioli,he brought me risotto. He was very sweet, but he could use a few more days of training. And he should write stuff down!!
Otherwise, it was a very pleasant meal.
Always one of my favorite places. The service is impeccable. Food fantastic. Best Carrot Cake ever!
Laid back, nice bar, live music, creative menu and house made desserts. What’s not to like?
Lovely lunch. I had the crispy duck sandwich which was moist and delish. The house merlot was smooth and the lemon cake with strawberry was out of this world. Portions so generous that I had enough left over for another meal. They had a lovely patisserie display of beautiful cakes that I’ll keep in mind for future birthdays.
Service at first was great, but as the lunch crowd picked up our service slowed down so much that a manager came over twice to ask if they could get us something. (She saw us looking around.) It didn't seem that busy, but maybe they were understaffed. The food was very good though!
The experience started off well with a lovely greeting from the hostesses, then took a rocky turn. Our server was a bit abrupt and off putting but when we engaged her she told us it was her first night in training, we asked where her trainer was and the experience became better when she joined her.
We were there for date night and to support the North Texas Food Bank. We are grateful that Bonnie Ruth's was participating because the meal was excellent! The portions were not minuscule they were full on almost too much to eat portions. Appetizers and mains were amazing, the dessert tray was heavy on cakes but the Pot de Creme and the Creme Brulee were lovely.
Good wine list with very affordable choices and the 7 day a week Martini Happy Hour was a huge surprise.
We will be going back many times in the future for the food, ambiance and to see our how the lovely but nervous trainee is doing.
As a side note the manager was lovely as was the bartender we encountered when we were delayed in leaving due to heavy storms, the after dinner drinks at the bar were well crafted and the manager was very engaging.
Overall, go to this Bistro it's a gem.
The food tasted great. Our waitress could not have been better.
We have gone to BR's a couple of times a year since they opened. Seems that recently it has gone downhill. Food was O.K. service was not. Sat out on their nice patio and was completely overlooked. I think we are finished.
My wife and I had a really nice dinner. They have a number of reasonably priced options to choose from. I opted for a steak dish and my wife had pasta. They were both prepared as we hoped. The biggest plus for this restaurant is in the area of deserts. They do a great job with cakes of all types. The slices are large where you either share or take some of it home with you. We have been here a number of times. Consistent service. Great drinks. Great evening.
2 of us had the duck. Neither of us who had the duck felt well after the meal. while the other 2 that ate with us enjoyed their meals I myself personally wouldn't recommend it based off the experience we had afterwards.
Great food and drinks. Not the usual excellent service though.
Food was great.
Great food with awesome entertainment:)
Great happy hour prices. My girlfriend and I met here on Saturday before 6 pm and had some fanstastic food ($8) and lemon drop martinis ($4) at great prices! Service was ok at the bar. Live music started at 8 and was decent but nothing to write home about. Crowd was older (50s-60s) but we didn’t mind. We enjoyed our visit.
When we arrived there were supposedly no tables but we were seated inside as requested. The steak frites or excellent, cooked perfectly. The duck two ways was equally well prepared, although the potatoes celeriac had too much cheese. Well priced, well portioned.
When I made my reservation I put it was for a birthday. The receptionist acknowledged that we were celebrating a birthday but never told our waitress. We ordered a slice of cake and the waitress didn’t say anything about it Being for a birthday. We were charged for the cake. When we were leaving I asked the receptionist if anything is done for a birthday and she said “I don’t really know maybe the cake is half off” I told her we received nothing and that the waitress didn’t seem to know we were celebrating a birthday. All she said was sorry. I dont know why I even put on the reservation that a birthday was being celebrated!
I was there with my daughter and two granddaughters. Everyone loved the food and the chocolate cake dessert. We'll be back again.
Delish and our waitress was great!!!!
Stuffed Salmon with pesto risotto was absolutely fabulous!! Service excellent as always.
Lunch with a friend. Good food and service. One order was not as ordered but decided not to wait for a replacement. No big deal. They were very willing to correct it, because the order went in correctly, but it was no big deal
It was a Father’s Day Brunch. A wonderful experience. Very well staffed.
Everything we ordered was terrific, from the ahi tuna app to the seared scallops on the amazing risotto to the Italian creme cake dessert. Inside was too loud for our tastes but the patio was very pleasant and we enjoyed our visit. Friendly service but very, very slow to get entrees so plan accordingly. If you aren’t in a hurry and can linger and enjoy your drink and your company, your rewarded will be outstanding flavors and a great value.
Food & service were good...the noise level was way past energetic
Wonderful fresh food and fantastic drinks!! I would ask for specific brands of liquor if you are prone to getting sick as I think their house is not very good. Otherwise great place!
Ori is an amazing bartender, and really friendly! Thank you for everything, we will be back soon.
Wonderful experience! I had not been to Bonnie Ruth's before last Saturday. You could choose the breakfast buffet or order from the menu. We shared a carafe of perfect mimosas and enjoyed the buffet. Make a reservation! Several large parties were there for graduation and pre-wedding gatherings. I will definitely be back!
One of my very most FAVORITES!!! Only thing, next time I'll ask to be seated on the "quiet" side. the noise level in the bar area was intense, but it was Friday evening. I still would highly recommend Bonnie Ruth's!
Bonnie Ruth’s neighborhood bistro was an amazing experience. The food my family and I ordered were all new items and they were spectacular the bread it was really good it was light fluffy just not your typical every day bread and what I ordered was the pasta carbonara which was spectacular and so was the shrimp Florentine and the crab stuffed salmon fillet. Our server was really nice he told us his favorite cake we didn’t get it though but the cake was double the size and for $7.50 you can’t go wrong with the price. And for the cakes we got the red velvet and the pineapple coconut which was amazing I never had a cake like it.
Excellent service made for a nice lunch date with my husband
The food is delicious. This is our second visit. Have not been disappointed yet.
Not at all what we were expecting. The food and service were average at best. They offered the Sunday brunch buffet on a Saturday because they were having a special event. They even offered it at the Saturday brunch price. When my wife went the buffet and attempted to order an omelette she was told that it was only for the guests of the party. After she complained the manager agreed to allow her to order an omelette directly from the kitchen. When she tried to order it with our server she was told it wasn't permissible. We finally convinced her that the manager said she could do it and she put the order in. I ordered from the menu, pretty simple - three egg breakfast, country potatoes, and wheat toast. When she brought my breakfast there was no toast. Once I got her attention I asked for some wheat toast and she said they didn't have any. Hmmmmm..... She came back later and said they did and eventually brought the toast (no butter or jam mind you). Soooooo I would say not great! But hey, the coffee was good. We won't be coming back for that though.
I mentioned when reserving that it was my wife’s birthday . There was no reference to the bday the entire evening by the staff
We all had deserts that were great ,and not even a mention of her birthday.
Crostini appetizer was delicious, loved the drunken pear salad, and bouillabase and duck were excellent.
Our server was excellent.
The patio was lovely but the service and food were lacking. I ordered the Steak / Frites entree and my date had the pork chop. I had asked for my steak to be medium-rare and it was well done without even a sliver of pink plus it was on the cool side of warm and the frites were cool and not very crispy. I’m guessing it sat while they finished the pork chop. The pork chop while flavorful was rather tough. Unfortunately our food was brought by a runner and our server neglected to check on us for ten minutes or so. Which meant I wasn’t allowed an opportunity to comment on it being over cooked and not hot. I highly doubt we will be back.
