It was a Father’s Day Brunch. A wonderful experience. Very well staffed.
Everything we ordered was terrific, from the ahi tuna app to the seared scallops on the amazing risotto to the Italian creme cake dessert. Inside was too loud for our tastes but the patio was very pleasant and we enjoyed our visit. Friendly service but very, very slow to get entrees so plan accordingly. If you aren’t in a hurry and can linger and enjoy your drink and your company, your rewarded will be outstanding flavors and a great value.
Food & service were good...the noise level was way past energetic
Wonderful fresh food and fantastic drinks!! I would ask for specific brands of liquor if you are prone to getting sick as I think their house is not very good. Otherwise great place!
Ori is an amazing bartender, and really friendly! Thank you for everything, we will be back soon.
Wonderful experience! I had not been to Bonnie Ruth's before last Saturday. You could choose the breakfast buffet or order from the menu. We shared a carafe of perfect mimosas and enjoyed the buffet. Make a reservation! Several large parties were there for graduation and pre-wedding gatherings. I will definitely be back!
One of my very most FAVORITES!!! Only thing, next time I'll ask to be seated on the "quiet" side. the noise level in the bar area was intense, but it was Friday evening. I still would highly recommend Bonnie Ruth's!
Bonnie Ruth’s neighborhood bistro was an amazing experience. The food my family and I ordered were all new items and they were spectacular the bread it was really good it was light fluffy just not your typical every day bread and what I ordered was the pasta carbonara which was spectacular and so was the shrimp Florentine and the crab stuffed salmon fillet. Our server was really nice he told us his favorite cake we didn’t get it though but the cake was double the size and for $7.50 you can’t go wrong with the price. And for the cakes we got the red velvet and the pineapple coconut which was amazing I never had a cake like it.
Excellent service made for a nice lunch date with my husband
The food is delicious. This is our second visit. Have not been disappointed yet.
Not at all what we were expecting. The food and service were average at best. They offered the Sunday brunch buffet on a Saturday because they were having a special event. They even offered it at the Saturday brunch price. When my wife went the buffet and attempted to order an omelette she was told that it was only for the guests of the party. After she complained the manager agreed to allow her to order an omelette directly from the kitchen. When she tried to order it with our server she was told it wasn't permissible. We finally convinced her that the manager said she could do it and she put the order in. I ordered from the menu, pretty simple - three egg breakfast, country potatoes, and wheat toast. When she brought my breakfast there was no toast. Once I got her attention I asked for some wheat toast and she said they didn't have any. Hmmmmm..... She came back later and said they did and eventually brought the toast (no butter or jam mind you). Soooooo I would say not great! But hey, the coffee was good. We won't be coming back for that though.
I mentioned when reserving that it was my wife’s birthday . There was no reference to the bday the entire evening by the staff
We all had deserts that were great ,and not even a mention of her birthday.
Crostini appetizer was delicious, loved the drunken pear salad, and bouillabase and duck were excellent.
Our server was excellent.
The patio was lovely but the service and food were lacking. I ordered the Steak / Frites entree and my date had the pork chop. I had asked for my steak to be medium-rare and it was well done without even a sliver of pink plus it was on the cool side of warm and the frites were cool and not very crispy. I’m guessing it sat while they finished the pork chop. The pork chop while flavorful was rather tough. Unfortunately our food was brought by a runner and our server neglected to check on us for ten minutes or so. Which meant I wasn’t allowed an opportunity to comment on it being over cooked and not hot. I highly doubt we will be back.
Took over 20 minutes before our drink order was taken
Food and drinks are top notch. Nice and quaint - perfect little bistro right off the beaten path. Perfect Mother's Day meal.
Mother’s Day - we had a great time! Thank you!
Cozy patio seating area with fast, knowledgeable service and well prepared dishes. Tried the carbonara and it was perfect. Highly recommend for couples or group gatherings.
Sunday brunch is amazing! Eggs Benedict is a must! We will be back!!
Came for the Kentucky Derby event. Food was a little disappointing, expected real fried chicken pieces not just fried chicken breasts. Wished there could have been a "green vegetable" on the menu.
Not sure if I would come for other special events but I do enjoy the breakfast brunch!
The crostini were amazing, the drunken pear salad was fabulous and the crab stuffed salmon with vegetable risotto was incredible. Service was absolutely perfect. This is now one of my favorite restaurants. Will definitely be back soon.
We used to go to Bonnie Ruth's all the time as the ambiance, food, and service were always great. It was the place we could count on to take guests and friends for a sumptuous meal delivered with great service! Sadly, this last time every element of our dining experience was poor. We ordered a caesar salad (really small for $10!), a pizza ( boring sauce), and prime rib sandwich (a LOT of bread, very little prime rib that was so overcooked it was leathery, all smothered in a bland sauce). This is NOT the Bonnie Ruth's we used to love. They also seem to have dropped the Croque Monsieur & Croque Madame from the menu -- those were both great sandwiches they always executed perfectly! As for the ambiance, The restaurant is now divided in to rooms. It used to be open and airy. Not anymore! On to service...it was poor. Our waitress had the entire front room -- 8-10 tables of 4. Granted, this is a lot of tables for one person, but she wasn't cut out for this job. She never refilled our drinks, didn't ask us if we needed anything else, and we honestly think she was relieved when we decided against dessert! All this time, the host stood at the host stand without lending a hand to take care of customers. He wasn't that busy seating people and could easily have helped our waitress take care of us and all the other customers in our room while still keeping an eye out for newcomers. It was hard to watch him standing there playing with his phone while I needed my drink refilled. Definitely not the service we're used to at this restaurant. It's sad to see this as this place used to be a real gem in our neighborhood. Hope the owner gets her mojo back! The pommel frites (fries) are still good though!
Been to Bonnie Ruth’s probably 20 times in seven years. Food is always fantastic. This last time the service was not good at all. Hopefully it was just an individual having a bad night.
Good food & service. We like this place!
Normally I love this restaurant. This visit we waited by the host stand for 7 min without being greeted or even seated for 10 min, and we had a reservation. Food wasn't as fresh tasting as it normally is.
Sad. Hope my brunch place isn't going south.
Food is delicious. The cook on my wife’s steak was perfect.
We celebrated our 14th Anniversary. The food is always great and the service impeccable. I had my usual Chicken Pillard and my husband had spaghetti bolangese. The carrot cake is to die for. One of my favorite spots!
Easter Buffet was amazing, such a great variety of food. The quality of food and service was top notch, It was worth every penny.
I used to live within 15 minutes of Bonnie Ruth's and now I venture out for a good hour to get there. Amazing to me, is that they are known for having the best deserts in the area and yet I ordered a Oscar fillet (I'm a Bob's guy) and was genuinely impressed and delighted to find the steak was a great cut, with excellent flavor cooked exactly how I asked. My wife ordered a Pork Chop (picture included) which was also excellent. To top off the entire experience, we ordered the Red Velvet cake which I did not share... This is by far the best Red Velvet cake I've had since my last visit to Bonnie Ruth's! Keep up the good work Buster!
Enjoyed our food and "Happy Hour." Nice casual neighborhood restaurant when you want a good meal with a variety of choices. Love those desserts.... One of our guests had the porkchop and said it was very tough. I loved my chicken Will definitely be back
Menu selection is great. Favorite lunch gathering place.
Great service. Terry was a great server. Our first visit was a good experience. Will be back to try more. Excellent cocktail menu. I’d like to work my way down the martini menu. .
Service let a lot to desire, food is overpriced and nothing special.
Music was a bit too loud. Waiter and Kitchen were excellent in accommodating a couple of special food requests and following through. Food was very good!
Nice waiter took good care of our needs; celebrated wife’s birthday; older kids enjoyed escargots; good French experience
We made a reservation to dine at BR for our parent’s anniversary. As a party of 6, we walked into a restaurant that was basically empty, except for the bar and people dining on the patio. Despite an empty seating area and having made a reservation, we were taken to a table in the back, in between the bathrooms and the kitchen service entrance. The table was set for 5. They added a place setting, but it feels that knowing that a party of 6 was arriving would help them have the table for 6 prepared. We indicated on our reservation that we were celebrating our parent’s 49th wedding anniversary, yet there was no mention of their anniversary and nothing “special” to note. The waitstaff was very kind, but our hors d’oeuvres plate stayed on our table, empty until the end of the meal. As we had six people dining, there would have been better space and a nicer dining experience if the used dishes were removed before the main course arrived. This was not our first time dining at BR, otherwise we would surely never return. The food was well prepared and in the past we have enjoyed meals and holiday brunch at BR. As it was this time, we felt like tonight was a miss overall and left us wishing we had made a different decision as to where to celebrate for our special occasion.
Overall it was very good. Did not like the type of music or the volume it was being played. Conversation was difficult.
Food was very diverse giving several great options without being overwhelming. Our both entrees were GREAT. More bottle wine diversity would be something I would like to see.
We will definitely be back.
We stood in the lobby for several minutes before a hostess appeared. She seemed surprised to see us and immediately took us to a table in their very loud bar. My husband asked her to move us and we were seated in the dining room. The escargot was great but my husband’s pasta on his entree was very over cooked and gummy. My salad was nice and not overdressed. I would not say it was horrible but we will not be back. The chaos was a bit much for us.
Arrived for a get together with friends. Enjoy this spot! Had an unpleasant experience initially with an impatience and abrupt waitress who, when attempting to let her know she was coming across rude, cut me off and offered to get the manager. The manager was great! We had decided anyway to move outside where there was live music and great weather. The nights prior had been extremely cold. She promptly moved us all outside and provided a new waitress that was very friendly and relaxed. My bf and I came in from out of town and this was all about great food and great friends. Enjoyed the music and the ambiance out on the patio!
