Great food and service! Best mussels this side of the Atlantic!! Wide dessert selection and all are very good, had the Marble cake tonight and it is awesome!!
It was our daughters birthday and when we asked her where she wanted to go she didn’t hesitate to say, “duh, Bonnie Ruth’s”. This is one of our family’s favorite restaurants. The food is ALWAYS great and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We were sad to see the one closing in Allen at Watters Creek, but we’re hopeful another location will open soon that’s a little but closer. Keep up the good work! Oh and if you need help ordering, you’ll never be disappointed with the Chicken Paillard-delicious!!!
Good food and service. Went there before a play as a party of 6 including 2 children. Everyone enjoyed their food ranging from salmon, pasta, salad to burger.
Minor problem with music being way too loud. We asked for it to be turned down and it was.
Food and service was amazing. Really a nice atmosphere
My second visit really enjoyed the breakfast will most definately be coming back in the near future.
A very nice dinner. Food was great. We had duck two eats and chicken CB. Both great as well as their sides. We arrived during happy hour so drinks were a bargain to boot!
We wanted a quiet getaway where we could eat and talk. Setting on the patio is exactly what we wanted. cool breeze, perfect with fireplace, trees, and plants. Tables were spaced to give you privacy.
The meal was a little pricy, especially since the rating was $$ moderate, it was $$$.
We chose to split the Bouillabaisse listed as $32 on the menu online menu says $28
I have a food allergy with one of the ingredients, but the chef able to delete the item, make a small adjustment and the dish was excellent.
The server was attentive, but not obtrusive. He was knowledgable of the entire menu and offerings
It was very enjoyable and we will be back.
We were celebrating my husbands birthday and good friends 44th Anniversary. First off, my friend had his palate all set for escargot only to be told they had run out! And, it was National Escargot Day!!!! Although we sat outside to avoid noise and the evening was pleasant, it was a TERRIBLY long wait between all of our interaction with our waiter. We were there 2.5 hours and it wasn’t even crowded.
Overall the food was very Good, as always; and our waiter did make an effort to celebrate my husbands birthday and friends anniversary but we were disappointed in the service that night.
Tables are a little too close and it was super loud.
Great food and service. The mussels are excellent! Save room for dessert, they have many choices and all are over the top fantastic! Love their patio!!
your review for "noise" bar chart should be reversed. I marked first one thinking that was lowest noise level because the bar is shortest. But I am not sure.
I gave 1 star because it wouldn’t let me leave 0 stars. I stopped in with my family for Mother’s Day dinner. We had a reservation. We waited over 5 minutes before anyone arrived at host stand. They were obviously short staffed and the disorganization was apparent. We ere eventually seated in what appeared to be a secondary dining room. Lights off. Worn and tattered furniture and fixtures. Funky odor in the room. Curtain hanging over a door masking either a storage room or janitor closet. We sat for about 2 minutes before we decided to leave and for another place to eat.
Our first time dining at Bonnie Ruth’s was an uneven experience. It was obvious they were short handed tonight for Mother’s Day and it manifested in the food and service.
The appetizers were pretty good: calamari and assorted crustido. My wife and I each ordered the salmon; its accompaniments were delicious but the salmon itself was small portioned and dry.
We ordered pasta with marinara for our boys, only to find it incredibly spicy, even for adult tastes but especially for children. Adding chicken nearly doubled the cost of the plate at $6 each, which seemed excessive.
Water glasses went unrefilled until late in the service, which I believe speaks to the staffing shortage. The plate of assorted cupcakes as replacement for running out of cookies on the kids’ meals were indeed delicious.
Also excessive was the de facto 20% gratuity on our table of 6. I’m normally a 20% tipper anyway, but I found this practice excessive as well. I believe it’s customary to add 18% for parties of 8 or more?
We don’t plan on a return trip, which is a shame, since this restaurant is considered a Frisco institution.
We like Bonnie Ruth’s and go there mostly for special occasions with family.
Unfortunately something happened with our reservation this time on their end and
they were not expecting our party of 7 when we arrived. I made the reservation by phone.
Aside from that everything was good. We love Nico. He made sure he was our server after
he found out about the reservation mistake. He remembered our 5 year old grandson from
a time not too long ago when we went there for brunch. He’s really pleasant and bends over backwards
to make everyone feel welcome. 5 stars for Nico!
Food was good, service a little slow but there had been a serious kitchen accident just before our arrival. Overall it was still a good experience and worth the wait.
Open table allowed a reservation to a restaurant that is no longer in business at this location. This was embarrassing and a total inconvenience for myself and my mother. I was taking her out for an early Mother's day dinner.
Great food. Really quality restaurant. Good place for either a family or date night.
We really enjoy this place. We can sit outside on the patio or inside. The bartender is fantastic and the food is always good.
A lovely restaurant with mature clientele later in the evening when we dined. Just fancy enough to interest me, but had some simple options for my DH to try. Great portion sizes, in that they weren't overwhelmingly large. Scrumptious desserts. Courteous and friendly service.
Friends had just moved into the neighborhood and we were taking them to some restaurants we like. Bonnie Ruth’s didn’t let us down. I recommended the pork chop and they were excellent, as always. The mussels in white wine were great. It was still a little chilly for me, but the patio was packed. Great neighborhood gem!
The food was excellent! I took my mom to Bonnie Ruth’s after getting lots of recommendations for where to take her for a special girls dinner while she was in town.
Unfortunately, the service was terrible. The server rarely came by and we couldn’t ever find him to bring us our checks after we had been finished eating for a long time. He kept checking the table behind us and brought them their checks and their change, but he would never come by our table even when we tried to get his attention several time.
We also couldn’t find the host to help us find the server, so after two hours of sitting there with a toddler, we left cash on the table and left.
The food was delicious though! And, based on the great things I’ve heard from friends about Bonnie Ruth’s, I’m pretty sure that’s not usual experience there. We will definitely go back and try again!
Such a wonderful place to spend time eating and relaxing with family and friends! Would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
The food was very good but the service was not good at all. Also, we had requested to be sat outside when we made our reservation but they said they didn’t see it and sat us inside. It was noisy and service was bad.
Such a gem, great food and staff! We had perfect weather for dinner in the courtyard patio.
No point in making reservations. For brunch, they allow folks to sit at their tables as long as they want. We had to wait almost an hour for our “reserved” table to become available.
Fun bday brunch!
The service was slow at the beginning, after we were seated no one came to check us, turns out we were seated in a closed area. When the Manager found out, it was red carpet treatment; once we got treatment it was fantastic. Everything was delicious, the tuna was very fresh as was the salmon. The best part was the cozy patio seating. Once it got dark and the little lights came on I could have sat there all night. Defo a place to visit again!!
we were totally pleased with service, food and ambiance. Everything we tried from appetizers to wine to main course was outstanding. We will be back.
We had and great time. The waiter was outstanding and the food was great for the value.
Great food just really bad service at brunch. Had to ask for our bill and rack someone down to pay it. They aren’t good with service. Great food if you can get past that.
Super cute place! All day ambiance
Always excellent service and food. Best Mussels and burgers in the DFW area.
Had the pleasure of dining alfresco for the first time this year. The service was impeccable and the food was just as it was expected to be. The bread was hot fresh for the oven. The wine was cold and the Salade Niçoise was cold and beautifully presented. We order our tuna medium rare and it was!
Great restaurant fro our luncheon. Food and service were wonderful!
Great food, amazing happy hour drinks and some of the best service in the Dallas/Frisco area!
We loved the food at Bonnie Ruth's ! Cant miss with the Pork chop and Chicken Pailard. Noise level is very high so we had to go somewhere quiet to talk afterwards.
I tried Bonnie Ruth's for the first time this week and I loved it. The warm bread our server brought to the table was delicious. I love chicken salad and Bonnie Ruth's did not disappoint. I will definitely be back.
I would rate Bonnie Rut's as a good value for a nice dinner. The food was outstanding and the service was professional and very attentive.
The only detractors were the music and a large group of Teenagers that the restaurant was not prepared to seat when they arrived. This effected our seating by about 20 - 30 minutes.
We love Bonnie Ruth’s. The food, the ambiance and the drinks are all wonderful!
