We’re a casual and cozy restaurant serving up Asian small plates—from fun improvisations on that theme to faithful renditions of classic dishes that we love. We love the name “Bonito” because it’s both the Spanish word for “beautiful” and the name of one of the most important fish in Japanese cuisine. Thus, it’s the perfect name for a restaurant that seeks to explore the shared traits in the cuisines of Vallarta and Vietnam, delving into our mutual love for funk, citrusy brightness, and carefully calibrated spice.

This location is in Zona Romántica right next to the beautiful 200-year-old Banyan Tree. Comfortable air-conditioned dining room and a gorgeous outdoor garden provide the perfect setting for all occasions.

Our most popular items are ramen, pho, pork belly bao, soft-shell crab bao, coconut shrimp rolls, summer rolls, green papaya salad, potstickers, lobster dumplings, pork belly dumplings, teriyaki salmon, Korean BBQ beef, and green curry.

One of our very favorite places to eat in Puerto Vallarta. The garden setting is beautiful and the plates are creative and delicious. The wine list is not large, but has excellent selections at very reasonable prices. Just a wonderful restaurant.

As a full-time resident, I love, places you can count on. First time to this location, because I live near one, but this was a nice experience.

The staff is very nice and attentive. Food is absolutely delicious. We had the Cauliflower popcorn for starters. Dinner was Korean Short Ribs and Butter Chicken. Cocktails are very good too.

The drinks were fabulous. My husband had the smoked olive martini Andy I had a manhattan both made perfectly. We ordered the chicken satay ., pho bowl and Korean short rib rice bowl. Very good! The ambience it beautiful

We had a mixed experience. While the food was wonderful, the service was terrible. It took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us once seated and then another 20 to get a cocktail delivered from the bar. If the bar is that busy maybe another bartender would make sense. Then our appetizers arrived all at different times, as did the mains. Management doesn’t know how to run front of house. Waiters were busy bussing and setting tables and didn’t have time to attend to service their tables properly. Why there are no bus boys, I don’t know. Getting our water took 45 minutes. We gave up on wine with dinner. Too painful. Again, the food was really fantastic but none of us want that dining experience again.

We had a wonderful time celebrating a graduation. The patio space is lovely and everything we ordered was thoughtfully prepared and good quality.
