Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking - Woodbury Ratings and Reviews
Food was marginal, one person ordered well done steak, came medium at best, was returned to kitchen and came back to the table burned. No ever returned and asked if it was ok and when the server took the plate she never asked either. They got us seated right away and the service was good until we got our food and after the steak was returned no one stopped to ask how things were again. None of the food except a fish option was good, just ok!!!
It was a cold evening and we were seated next to a warm fireplace - very cozy. The waiter was excellent, alerting us that happy hour ends in 20 minutes so we took advantage of it. Our order came in a timely manner. I recommend the barbecue chicken pizza - delicious!
We had a very inexperienced server. LUCKILY, the rest if the servers were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Food was good, but a bit cool because of the aforementioned server. Great family atmosphere, but I didn't see a place for any romantic date nights. May go again.
Good experience not having to wait for a table for groups of people, which is why I reserved a spot here. It is very difficult at other restaurants to even find a table for more than six people.
The food was all very good. I don 't mind crowds at all, but the noise level at times made it difficult to hear people on the other side of the table. Perhaps this was because our table was more in the middle of the floor. Perhaps some sound deadening in the ceiling could suppress the noise a bit.
The server was overly busy, too many tables, and not focused. Two steaks not delivered as ordered. Baked potato not done as ordered. Had to order butter 4 times. Had to order an additional glass of wine 3 times. One of the steaks that was re-cooked came back overly cooked, the other was good.
We did not have the greatest experience. I've eaten here 3-4 times before and been pleased, but this time food quality was not as good. My dad's flat bread pizza was mushy/room temp, beers in frosty mugs were not cold, noise level out of hand, took forever to get our bills due to computer problems (like 20 minutes extra of waiting), ordered GF/Dairy free, nephews meal came out with dairy, and fries were room temp. This was a celebration for Father's Day and so just bummed that we couldn't hear anyone talk due to how loud it was, and the food was not very good and waiting 20 min to get the bill after asking was just too much at the end of a long day.
We go to this spot somewhat frequently. Generally the service and food are pretty good. The prices are a little high but not terrible. This time we had an awful experience. We were seated at a table just off the bar area, you could see the bathroom door but it wasn't in super close proximity...however, you could smell the bathroom from the table. You could smell it a lot. It was gross. We were also seated close enough to the exterior door that we felt the cold wind every time it opened. So, it was cold and stinky before we even ordered food. Then the waiter lost our order and the food took over an hour to be served. When we finally got the food, the orders were inaccurate and one of the sandwiches had a hair on it. Again, gross. The manager did not bother to talk to us. She did take care of about 1/2 the bill but not all of it. The waiter was super apologetic and very nice, however, I will think twice before I go back here.
Overall, I've had positive experiences with Bonfire before. However, this last trip we invited my family to join us for Mother's Day dinner. There was a small, special menu which was fine but gave very limited options. When booking my reservation on OpenTable, there was no mention of this. Luckily everyone found something to their liking from the ten or so options. What was most frustrating about this experience was the slow service. It took us about ten minutes just to be greeted once we were seated and the waiter came over to ask if anyone had seen us yet as if it was a free-for-all wait staff organization. It took us forever to be able to order even an appetizer and our drinks were often left empty. When we got the final bill we had been charged for a drink we never even ordered and then it seemed like forever before we could get the waiter's attention to fix it. I can maybe understand this kind of service on a busy Saturday night but the restaurant was maybe half-capacity while we were there. The food was quite good and the overall atmosphere was positive. I just hope we feel more like a priority when dining at Bonfire next time.
We attended the brunch for Mother's Day as we do every year. Food was delicious and server was friendly and very helpful. What I especially liked were the foods being labeled for gluten free. As a celiac. this is extremely important. One thing that disturbs is that I saw people using the same ladle from a pasta or regular dish, and putting it in the gluten free bin. This can make a true celiac extremely ill. I'm not sure how to handle that matter. I just have to be even more careful.
Waited an hour and fifteen minutes for our food. Not happy at all about that. Server was somewhat slow, but very nice and friendly. The seven others and myself loved whenever she would come over because there would always be laughter and smiles. Very good server. Only knock on her is her slowness. She could've checked on us, our drinks, etc. more frequently; especially since we waited that long for our food. Again though, she did a good job overall. She was kind and considerate when she offered our table chips and salsa while we waited which everyone enjoyed. That made everyone's moral at the table spike up and we weren't as flustered and antsy for our meals.
We hadn't been here in many, many years after a bad service experiance and have heard some better reviews so thought we'd give it a try. Now I know why we haven't been there and we will not go back. Food was decent, but in now way makes up for the horrible service. :(
Had a reservation and they gave our table away to the person in front of us with no reservation. Then struggled to seat our party. Server was horrible, food took a long time and was cold. When we asked where our food was the server RUDELY responded "food is prepared in the order they are placed. It works for us". She didn't check back with us.
It was truly a disappointing dining experience to celebrate our event.
Have had good service and food prior to this visit, but this was one of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant in a long time. Hope it greatly improves or we will have to find a new place.
This place is a cool atmosphere for happy hour and great specials on delicious apps, I loved the Bontons, buffalo flavored, cream cheese wontons that just melted in my mouth. The only downer to the experience was the waitress was very slow and got 2 items wrong on our order. She wasn't the one who brought the food and when the brought the wrong item we told them that wasn't what we ordered but must have not got communicated to our server cause we never did get it. She didn't check on us very often so in this case by the time she did we didn't even want the missing appetizer. But yummy food, hip atmosphere.
