Bonfire Wood Fire Cooking - Savage Ratings and Reviews
First, the Fish Tacos were horrible. My husband who eats most anything could not even finish them. After saying something to the server, she shrugged and said OK. (shouldn't she have told the manager?) We asked for a bowl of fruit for a 2 year old, but since she ordered pasta, the server kept saying 'it doesn't come with'. Finally I had to sternly say 'I know that! But can't we get a bowl anyway? We are willing to purchase it, we just want fruit for her.' We were there at 6:30 PM, it wasn't real busy (not all tables full) and they were out of the Spitfire chicken already saying it would be several hours before more would be ready. That was one of the reasons we chose the place. We were celebrating a birthday and the server asked what he would like for his birthday treat. It came with a candle in it. They proceeded to charge us for it. We would not have purchased it if we knew that! Server was horrible, food was mediocre (Don't order the fish tacos!), bottom line, we will not be going back to this place and do not recommend it!
We had not been back to Bon Fire for some time, not because of food or service, just not out there. Our waiter, our food, our drinks were outstanding. My wife and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. It was such a perfect evening at Bon Fire. We both had steaks, different cuts and they were made to perfection. I would highly recommend this place to everyone. We will be back in the very near future to enjoy another delightful night out. Thank You for the great meal and service.
We had reservations at 10:15...the waitress mentioned a few times how busy she was and I felt very rushed with ordering, and overall service we rushed when she would come to the table. Being I put that it was our anniversary when reserving the table, I thought something would have been said.
We frequent Bonfire a lot and usually enjoy it, but this was a bad experience. Our waiter must have had too many tables and hardly checked in on us. But the worst part was got our quesadillas and boneless wings first, then about 10 minutes later our friend got his bull bites, then about another 30 minutes after that, our other friends FINALLY got their pizzas! We were done eating for a longggggg time before their pizzas even showed up!
This is my favorite place to go, especially on birthdays. I was a bit disappointed, again, with the change in menu options. I come for 2 things that I love...the bull bites and Bonfire Pasta. Bull bites are still there but the pasta was not on the menu...although the waitress said I could still get it. It was close but not the same...not as much flavor, miss the kick. Also in the past there was an awesome chocolate desert that had warm fudge in the middle...sooooo good...now it's gone. Have to go to Applebees to have a great but not awesome one. Hopefully they won't change it so much in the future. Also, miss the shrimp basil pizza and and the cream cheese stuffed shrimp.
Anniversary dinner. Server very attentive. Food was delivered on time & was MUCH better than we anticipated. I had the filet which was cooked as I ordered & tasty. Wife had walleye & said it was very good. Server was quite patient with my wife's special requests & accommodated them. Free dessert was MUCH appreciated. Price was reasonable & lower than most "upscale" restaurants, yet the food & service was outstanding. Only complaint was that it was very noisy.
I went here with a group of 6 for my birthday. Appetizers were great (queso blanco). A big group got their food in before us so our food took one hour. Luckily, we had appetizers to keep us occupied. Salmon salad was okay. Mostly spinach but the salmon itself was great. Big cookie for dessert was amazing. Waitress was wonderful.
This was dinner for our Anniversary. The lettuce wrap appetizer was very good. Dinner was Salmon and Fajitas, both were overlooked and dry. The service was very pleasant but slow. Overall value was fair to poor in my opinion compared to other restaurants in the area. This was our first visit (and last) to this place. I would recommend Porter Creek grill instead, just a few miles away.
I had the worse experience at this establishment! As my food was delivered I noticed that there was hair on the plate before the plate even hit the table. The plate was removed and brought back less than a minute later. I asked the food runner if this plate was clean and the food was fresh. She (the runner) stated no and that they just removed the hair! I was very upset and the food runner kept saying well I did remove the hair. I stated that the food needs to be remade and on a new clean plate. When the food arrived later it was still missing the fruit that accompanied the Eggs Benedict. I never did get my fruit and was made to pay for a portion of my meal! I did ask the server to send the general manager over. I explained to him what had happened and it didn't seem to bother him! Please never go to this restaurant since even the manager didn't think my experience was worth a free meal!!! I will be following up with a district manager because the general manager didn't do or say anything to make me feel like I should return.
We have been to Bonfire/Savage before and it is usually very good. However, this experience was terrible. I ordered the special which was the prime rib. I ordered it medium-rare as I have for many years. When it came out it was basically cold and raw, certainly not edible. The restaurant manager that greeted us earlier and our waitress was nowhere to be found. Every restaurant experience I had, the waiter/waitress always swing by and asked how everything is tasting, not this time. I finished the salad and sides and still no one swung by. Finally, when we had a stack of our plates piled up our missing waitress came by. I explained the prime rib was not edible and she looked at it and said, "oh my, that's not right". Would you like another one? Really? We sat there for 40 minutes and were ready to leave. I said no and she took the dinner off the bill and took the prime rib away (my black lab would have enjoyed it). I went home and made a pizza. Not a pleasant experience at all....
We went to Bonfire to celebrate our Anniversary. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The service was a little slow but as we were in no hurry it wasn't an issue. I ordered the Twin Steak Medallions done Medium and when they came they were BURNT. I took one bite and all you could taste was burn. I sent one back to the kitchen and in hindsight, I should have sent both back. They remade it and brought it back but by that time I had finished everything else on my plate. It was a little disappointing that all we were offered was an apology from the server, not even the manager. I can't believe the kitchen would even send something out that overdone. I would give them another try as we have been there before for happy hour and everything was great.
In one word terrible!!! Since it was Father's Day, they decided to forgo their usual breakfast menu and have a buffet. Well you can certainly tell they do not do buffets often. Food was cold, overcooked or just not even appetizing to look at. They charged $20 and that was at least $10 too much for what they had. Waiter was practically non-existent. Brought 1st round of drinks and the bill and that was about it. I have been here before for dinner sometime ago and remember it being very good. Don't know what happened this time.
Father's Day Brunch website said made to order Eggs Benedict and breakfast breads and pastries. There were no eggs benedict, no breakfast breads and pastires-possibly 8 cakes. The food and service was excellent, but the wait was ridiculous. It took 30 minutes standing in line to get food at 10:15 am. One of our party had to leave and not go back, because no time. Our bill for 6 adults and 2 kids was almost $200.00 and with limited selections and wait time, it was not worth the money. Very disappointed.

We did the Father's Day brunch which was our first try at the brunch. The food was very good, but there were a couple of things that really turned us off. 1) As we walked into the room with the food, the floor was so sticky that my daughters shoe actually stuck to it. 2) We were only able to go to the buffet once, which was disappointing as we didn't fill up with our first plates - not realizing how long we would be standing in line. The line was SO long, that we just skipped the seconds and had some dessert and left. It was quite disappointing. I figured that it must have been the first time they offered a buffet, but was told by others that it was not. Very disappointed.
We wanted to change our reservation from 5:30 to 6:30 but Open Table said there were no more reservations available - The restaurant was DEAD when we got there.. Very frustrating.. The service was EXTREMELY slow as well...
Love this restaurant, but please update your availability - and make sure your customers are helped in a quicker manner.. Thank you!
