The chicken was overcooked and tough. Not at all what had previously experienced
We had a nice dinner. Relatively quiet for a sports bar.
Salmon with mashed potatoes - not good. The mashed potatoes were dry (had to ask for butter to moisten them) and the salmon was covered with a thick syrup that made it sticky, as well as being overcooked & dry. We hadn't been there for two years, and that last time the food and the service were both bad - so I think they still need to work on their menu and the food preparation - it really is not a good restaurant.
Good bonfire building, food was ok but nothing that I could say impressive for the money. Fire grill food is good like wings.
The food was very good as usual. The three beer drinkers were disappointed that, after discussion among ourselves, the beers we chose were not available although on the menu.
Had the fish and chips. French fries were under done. Fish had too much batter. Menu has changed. Seems there is more emphasis on the bar crowd than the dinner crowd. They formerly had the best walleye in town served as an entrée both at lunch and dinner. They still have it on the dinner menu but at a higher price. Overall, I was very disappointed.
I had the parmesan crusted walleye. It was delicious!
Food was generally very good, I enjoy Bonfire, but the french fries were so salty I could only eat a few. I had made a mention to the waitress about it and she said nothing.
I would not recommend based on my meal and the meals of my family. Very bland/blah. No personality in the food. For example, I had the walleye tacos. Two tortillas, tomatoes, lettuce and maybe onions and chunk walleye. No sauce, no seasoning, just blah. Dry and unenjoyable.
Our server was so sweet & talkative (but I liked it!) I had a friend from out of town and we had a wonderful time! I originally had reservations for 630 and you changed them @ the drop of a hat Food is ALWAYS amazing!
First time visiting, looking forward to coming back
We have eaten here before several years ago when we were in town which is why I selected it again. The only thing that disappointed me was my own meal. I ordered a prime rib and it came out first which is wonderful. However, that meat, the potatoes and the vegetable were all stone cold. I had to send it back and my replacement came after everyone else got their meal. They’re replacing all is fine, but that should not of happened. The service was good and we had a good waitress. Cold dinner kind of turned me off.
Come prepared to be disappointed. I don't know what it will take for management and cooking staff to get it. We vowed to stop coming here for food, as we almost always complain and send something back. This time it was the baked potato. It must have sat in a microwave for ten minutes or under a heat lamp for thirty. We sent it back and they brought out a beautiful bake potato to go along with our rotisserie chicken. Here's the deal..why doesn't someone...the cook, the waitress, the manager..someone stop crappy food from hitting the table. It was visible? Oh well, The Crooked Pint is hopping and it's where we will spend our money from now on. Good luck!
First time there as new to area, waitress was very friendly and served us well. Food was excellent, and it’s a very laid back comfortable dining area.
Needed to find a good brunch spot in the area. We found it!!! Bottomless mimosas, a Bloody Mary that’s a meal in itself and so many delicious food choices. Bonfire brunch is GREAT!! I wish I could get it every day.
Happy hour was GREAT! And even better, it starts at 2pm! The snacks were delicious and the drink deals are fantastic. Will definitely be back.
Our server was new, and obviously under-trained to be flying solo. My wife, a vegetarian, asked that her baked potato have only butter and sour cream on it. She was less than happy to find bacon under the sour cream. The server arguing about how it was ordered did not help. Overall, she was slow to check back, and slow to fulfill our requests. As it was not terribly busy, there was no excuse for this low level of service. Unlikely that we will return. To be clear, I go in expecting to tip 20%. Service dictates whether that goes up or down. It went way down. Disappointing.
The buffalo bites were grisly, i could chew through them, it was so dark we couldnt see our menus, fries were hreat
It was convenient for all of us - our server was very sweet - the food was just okay.
The waitress had a lack if knowledge and excuses, she questioned why a member of our party didn't have a DL and only a state issued ID, the bartender took over 35 minutes to make 5 drinks, took 25 mi utrs to get a child milk.
The restaurant had one other table, there were plenty of staff members to help, but didn't.
Managment was off site as there was a medical emergency, so there was no supervision or management to lead the team.
Have no plans to go back.
Five of us enjoyed dinner. We ordered a variety of items from the menu, personal pizza, Friday night fish, prime rib and drinks! All of enjoyed our dinners and they do pour a generous cocktail.
We did sit in a corner booth with a table that was very low. It was awkward.
I would definitely return and have already suggested the restaurant to friends.
One couple was celebrating their anniversary and the waiter was kind to bring a special dessert for them at no charge.
The place was by no means busy for a Wednesday at 7:30pm, with a few tables and 1 large party along with my table of 5 out for my 16 yo daughters bday. The younger kids ordered kids meals but when the food arrived they also put my 16 yo's order in as a kids Mac n cheese (flavorless). When asked to remake the adult entree I was told there was a big party in front of us and it would be a while. Strike 1. We asked for straws and were told they don't provide unless asked since straws kill turtles. So now we are turtles killers. Strike 2. The appetizer was the buffalo chicken bontons... But they forgot the chicken. Strike 3. One of out entrees Bonfire fettuccini was a Frankenstein mixture of the chicken penne and the fettuccini... Missing the sausage and instead of basil cream sauce it was the roasted pepper cream sauce. Strike 4. My ribs were under cooked and someone forgot to remove the membrane from the underside. Strike 5. The (included in the price of the kids meal) desserts were forgotten. Strike 6. Ordered a beer, took 15 minutes and reminding the server to get it strike 7. I should've played baseball rules and called it after 3, or 5 or 7. Left without any sort of birthday offering for my oldest. Also we didn't think we could handle another strike. 8 would've been too many.
Missed 2 of our main ingredients on the dishes had to send them back to the kitchen missed the kitchen on the bonfire pasta and the walleye on the land and had to go inside to get silverware after hostess forgot to grab it had to when they seated us first time there and the last time won’t be returning.
We had mixed reviews. First since I made reservations and there was plenty of seats why sit someone next to the busy kitchen doors. Should be the last table you put someone at.
The service was good & a friendly waitress and it seemed most staff was very attentive to their customers. Problem is some of their food wasn’t perfect. I think if you get a burger or pizza but my wife got a skillet and it was like the vegetables & rice had just been sitting there for hours, her dish wasn’t hot at all.
We have eaten here many times. This last time was not their best effort. Food was marginal. Beer was served in a glass straight out of the dishwasher which made it warm. Table was dirty when we were seated.
Bonfire opened years ago and it was exciting to have them in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, their standards just continue to slide year after year. What was once a dining experience to look forward to, is now a visit of last resort, just because they're convenient. They need to train and retrain all of their staff to provide decent service and the food is mediocre at best. Raise the level of your game, Bonfire!
Food was overly priced. Had the rotisserie chicken with garlic potatoes. No taste to chicken and no garlic in potatoes. The sausage/bean skillet was cowboy stew overloaded with beans and no flavor.
My salmon war burnt beyond recognition! The chief should never have let the salmon go out looking that way!
Beans were over cooked! Girls pizzas were boring.... just not a great place to eat. No attention to detail at all!!!
Our Server was awesome. She made our evening so fun and pleasant. She had great food recommendations.
Had the harvest salad. Claimed it and with rotisserie chicken, but I think they had run out earlier. It was sliced and had zero flavor at all. Plus they put easily a whole canister of walnuts in the salad. Yes it came with almonds but wow. Very bland salad. Service was SLOW. Understaffed, they ran out of kids menus so she had to “try” and remember it to tell my niece. Why not ask another table who had multiple kids for one?? Front host staff seem frazzled. Just overall a pretty poor experience. This is why I rarely go to chain restaurants anymore. Poor quality processed food, minimal customer service.
I’d go back for the bontons. The wine glass brough to us was dirty. Our server never came to check how our food was, which was very salty.
Mother’s Day brunch.
Food was good but took a very long time to come out (and it was not crowded - middle of the late afternoon).
Music volume was really loud for an afternoon.
We had a delightful evening having an early Mother’s Day celebration. The cocktails were perfect and the meals delicious. And our server was awesome; attentive, friendly and funny. We will definitely be back!
The new menu at Bonfire is not very good. We used to eat there once a week, now we maybe go there once every 3 months.
Overall enjoyed good food - a baked potato was forgotten (it happens) bitter couldntfind our waiter for quite some time to get that remedied. Little frustrating...
We went for the Easter Brunch at 145pm - it ended at 4pm. Despite that there was VERY LITTLE food left and it wasn't replenished for 45 minutes - basically when we were leaving. Even the basics were out - carving board selections - nothing for like 30 minutes! Unbelievable. I would recommend people NOT go.
Easter brunch
Went for Easter brunch food was great but the stand out was our server Tony. Great guy and great service.
We attended the Easter brunch and were very disappointed. The selection of food was lacking (especially on the kids buffet) and nothing was kept full. I also had someone swipe my first mimosa off the table when I went up to get food with my family. After that my husband and I took turns so none of us were eating at the same time. We also had to keep waiting to get another mimosa and for $10 a pop and only getting two mimosas that didn't seem worth it. $112 tab for our family before tip and none of us left full or satisfied.
We had attended Easter brunch two years ago at this same location and it was amazing. TONS of food selections, everything was full and hot, and do it yourself bottomless mimosas was a huge hit. Not sure why they changed it but it was so incredibly disappointing this year and we really felt that with that little selection the prices were very steep. We will not be back next year or even for Mother's Day brunch this year.
