We love Chef Chris and really enjoyed his newest venture. The food was fabulous with new menu items skillfully prepared and presented. The staff was spot on with the service. The new surroundings are lovely.
Phenomenal dining experience! Chef Chris Bonfili is a true master with what he creates from appetizers to dessert! Looking forward to coming back again very soon!
Food was delicious, service was excellent. We were here on Mother's Day so it was busy, but you couldn't tell from the attention the wait staff gave us. I would definitely eat here again!
I would go back to Bonfire, because food and drinks were REALLY tasty, but first experience could've been better. First, reservation was for The Upstairs, but we were seated in downstairs area and told they were getting Upstairs ready for dinnertime. Reservation was 2:45 p.m. on Mother's Day, so that made sense, but could've let me know that when they called to confirm 2 days earlier. It wasn't very busy, but we waited a LONG time between table visits (drink refills, checking on our food, etc.). Server said she was new (to explain why she didn't know the menu well), and although she was sweet, she seemed busier flirting with someone sitting at the bar than making sure we were OK. She ordered our food wrong, so brussels sprouts that were supposed to have hazelnuts on the side came with them on top and a burger that was supposed to have an egg on it came without one ("fixed" by serving us a side of scrambled eggs afterward -- ??? -- FOR WHICH WE WERE CHARGED $2, even though they weren't what we'd ordered). A manager didn't seem to have been alerted that we might not be 100 percent happy, although they should've been. Even so, the food & drinks were really great -- interesting combinations, good flavor, nice variety. The brussels sprouts were so good that my son who doesn't usually like them gobbled them down! The lemon parfait dessert was great but could use more fresh whipped cream (and less lemon cream) to lighten it. Chicken & waffles was good except a bit of REALLY spicy pepper got mixed into the greens on top of it (seemingly by accident, as it was in only one bite) and I prefer waffles that are just a little spongy instead of super-crispy on the outside. Blood orange mimosas were perfect -- not overly sweet, with plenty of bubbles. So there's lots of promise, and I look forward to trying it again sometime!
Tuna and salmon tartar was great. Soft shell crab special was delicious. Very noisy atmosphere made conversation difficult.

We liked the space, service was awesome, music was perfect for a Sunday brunch. The Brussels sprouts were amazing and everyone liked the poutine. The entree portions were big - almost too big to eat so we took some home. The Smores pancakes were rich and good (except for the harder pearl type things, which we weren't a fan of)) - the chicken and waffles was devoured, the breakfast calzone was yummy and huge, the basic AF breakfast was good and so were the eggs benedict. Huevos Rancheros meal was good, but didn't knock my socks off. Overall, the staff was welcoming, service was wonderful, food was delicious, and we'd definitely come back again! 👍
Bonfire is new and therefore I think certain things should be allowed while they adjust. The service is very good and we felt that the atmosphere upstairs in the final dining area was very nice. However there were certain inconsistencies in the food. One entrée which was the fish was so dry that it tasted more like wood. It was sent back, and when it returned - it was essentially raw. I did not tell them this. While they took the fish off the bill-I would have preferred that they fix the fish correctly and charge me for it. My husband’s pasta dish by my estimation was extremely dry but he did not want to say anything about it. I Noticed that the manager brought comp drinks with the check before people left - which they did not do for us. That seems unacceptable. They screwed up two entrées, so I guess they only give a drink to people who rave. Either the food is right or is it not right and a customer pointing out that is not right should not be an issue. We eat out in many restaurants and while I liked the place, and their previous place, this was not up to par.
Chef Bonfili is one of the best! Fantastic menu, delicious and well prepared dishes, and such a lovely space for a special dinner. We love this gem!
We would give this restaurant another try. The service was rather slow and the food was not hot. One person in our party had to request another cup of coffee because it was cold. However, the seasonings were interesting and the platings were attractive.
Joseph our waiter was great. He served as bar tender as well and was knowledgeable on the menu and ingredients. Lovely room and friendly staff. We will definitely go back.
Outstanding service. Wait staff are very knowledgeable about the food and beverages. Food was outstanding. Would definitely go back. Would like to try the menu on the 1st floor as well. If you are dining on the 2nd floor you cannot order from the 1st floor menu and vice versa.
When we went it was not busy so we had dedicated service. But you can tell yhe the service would be great even ir busy - friendly, smart staff. It was our first time there and we felt very welcome. both appetizers and entrées were extremely good and the menu had a very nice drink selection. The entrées were a tad pricey but the quality and preparation was first rate. The South Side really needs some high tier dining and this place fits the bill. I will be back.

The food and service were fantastic. Tried the roasted root vegetable pot pie which was delicious!
The meal and service we had at Bonfire 2nd floor was AMAZING. Everything we had was top notch. I cannot wait to visit again.
