Everything was excellent. The fire pit and heaters kept us warm. They had a QR code that we scanned to look at the menu. The food was so good from the appetizers to the entrees. Will definitely be back!
I have been three times in the last couple of months. If I am going out it will be to Bonfire. The food especially the bonfire burger is amazing. I would recommend going to anyone. I plan on taking my parents when Covid subsides and they visit.
Hats off to Chris and his team at Bonfire. The food and service was excellent. If you haven’t tried this restaurant, do so. You won’t be disappointed.
Some of the best food in Pittsburgh, great drinks, outstanding service and amazing ambience too!
We were a little skeptical of this place based on the menu listed online, but were pleasantly surprised when seated with a 4-course dinner option in the upstairs dining room. The chef's dishes were wonderful, and it was nice to have 3 options for the main. It was disappointing that a group of 6 energetic and restless teenage couples that were seated next to us distracted from the ambiance, but it was not fault of the restaurant. The wine pairings with the 4-course option were overall good, except for the red wine paired with the scallops. We gave some feedback to the server about it and she was happy to change the wine at no cost. We will be back to try another 4-course meal in the upstairs!
I was with 3 friends, and I think everyone was happy with food and bev. We were low-key celebrating birthdays, so I ordered a bottle of champagne, and everyone had some, but the other three also had cocktails. All happy campers.
my food was delicious (full of char and citrus) -- grilled octopus and shrimp plus a side of broccolini. Yum. I was happy and still had room for dessert -- which I normally do not indulge in -- the bread pudding. Also delicious. Every one had their needs met. The servers were young but very personable and helpful.
If you are looking for luxe furnishing, this is not your place. The space is pretty lean, but comfortable. And the food is the star.
It was a good choice.
The service was excellent & food was very good although a bit expensive as was the wine.
Enjoyable dinner menu and drinks. Good service. Little bit of a wait on the food being served but overall excellent experience.
Thanks for your review! Our apologies on the delay for your food, we're always looking for ways to constantly improve, but we're glad to hear your experience was enjoyable overall. Until next time!
They restaurant itself is beautiful and is in a nice location near several parking lots. The food is outstanding; I had the grilled tofu entree and started with the crispy chevre. I’m looking forward to seeing what new meals come to the menu and visiting again to try them out.
Wow. Great food, great drinks. Dinner upstairs was spectacular and the service was great. Well done .
We're glad you enjoyed yourself! We'll see you next time!
I found the grouper to lack some taste. Everything else was very good.
We went to Sunday brunch, which is only available downstairs, apparently. The food and service were good, but the noise level made carrying on a conversation difficult. We were seated on the left side and perhaps that was the problem. It was more isolated so the noise level was higher. I would go back, but only upstairs.
Every was very good! The service was outstanding!!!!
Food was fantastic. Some of the best food I’ve had in Pittsburgh. Great atmosphere as well.
Valentine’s Day dinner
Was very loud, the food was good but portions were small and not exactly filling.
Heard great things and have wanted to try for a long time. Did not disappoint! The food and service was amazing!
The "It's All Fuyu" cocktail is a must! The food, atmosphere and service was great! I can't wait to try out their brunch!!
Birthday . It was quite loud, but the food was excellent
Two sides to this place, louder bar downstairs and quieter dining upstairs. As soon as you walk in service is attentive and friendly. We dined upstairs, very nice space, service was excellent. Small menu selection, that we had limited choices, but once decided, we really enjoyed our meals. Good size portions and very flavorful. Nice selection of wines and cocktails, all reasonably priced. We'll be back to try again.
I would highly recommend Bonfire: The Upstairs. The dining room is beautifully appointed. It was a snowy night when we visited and the view onto Carson Street with the low lights and candles was lovely. The food and service was excellent. More people should visit and be wowed!
My wife and I had a great experience at Bonfire: The Upstairs last night. The food was all delicious, and the ambiance was lovely. I appreciated the wine recommendation with our eclectic menu selections too. The space is more refined than it appeared on OpenTable, so that was unexpectedly pleasant. I'd describe the space as small, but pleasantly proportioned, and with a nice happy noise level that was still conducive to conversation. We will definitely be returning!!
The service was very attentive, and the food was excellent. Our server recommended the Grits as a side dish, and it did not disappoint.
Amazing food. Outstanding service. Superb and friendly chef
We tried the upstairs for restaurant week and were excited they had a good vegetarian option. Our meals were very good and our server Montana was great !
Went for Pittsburgh Restaurant Week and the experience was 10/10. Avenue B, which sadly closed, was one of mine and my husbands favorite restaurants that always had the wagyu meatloaf on the menu so when we saw it on the restaurant week menu at Bonfire we knew we HAD to go and we were not disappointed!!! Amazing service and amazing meal. We will be back!
We went for restaurant week and truly everything exceeded our expectations. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff were very friendly! We will definitely be going back!
Very much enjoyed our evening with friends at Bonfire. Montana was excellent, as was the BF team. Great drinks, wine selection, appetizers and entrees. We'll be back!
We were early and enjoyed the bar downstairs. Great cocktails. Offered to take drinks upstairs. Nice coat check. Upstairs was freezing. Was seated next to window and it was cold. Raw deal was good (varies had the salmon). Had chicken carrot cavatelli. Very good. Hazelnut crunch bar was very good.
A bit noisy. When I left went to use the restroom. Ironically it was the coldest restroom I have ever used in a restaurant (especially one with the name bonfire)
Would go back and try downstairs
Food, service, ambiance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Would probably give 4 or 5 stars , but our entree's were barely warm when they arrived . The Chicken Cavatelli was nothing special - It Might have been better if it had been hot. The Meatloaf was very good and I'm sure if it had been hot I could have rated it 5 stars for sure. The tuna tartare was delicious, as was dessert.
Excellent Brunch! Great atmosphere!
The service was great. We especially loved the cocktails and starters. We will def go back again!
Everything we tried was absolutely wonderful! The special of the night was Wagyu meat loaf - a huge hit with our table! We will be back!
Food was delicious though the restaurant was very noisy, could barely hear my husband sitting across from me.
My only disappointment was the curry. It needed some heat and a richer flavor. It wasn’t bad but boring. Our other dishes were good and the eggnog gelato was delicious.
We were here to celebrate our anniversary and were very impressed. The cocktails were fantastic! The mussels were off the hook delicious! Dinners were superb. Our waiter was very attentive and service was impeccable. When we first arrived there was a table of 6 that were extremely loud. I could barely hear my husband across the table. It was evident other tables were as annoyed by them. They were moved downstairs within a few minutes of our arrival and it was a completely different environment. I could hear my husband again and enjoyed the rest of the night.
The food was great, and the service even better! I would definitely come back again!
Great dinner, great service, great food! Overall a wonderful experience, would gladly go back.
We tried Bonfire for brunch for the first time, and it was excellent. The mimosa was fruity and bubbly and the “Midnight Pickup” cocktail was smooth, flavorful, and was topped with a toasted marshmallow. We ordered the breakfast calzone and the steak and eggs, both of which exceeded my expectations. The sausage in the calzone was very tasty and the steak was seasoned perfectly. We will definitely be returning soon!
