really nice bruch - creative dishes, but just a little pricey, thus the 4 stars for value.
Mother's day brunch. The volume was the only minor complaint. Eggs benedict with lamb and the chicken and waffles were the best. Breakfast flatbread was a tasty app.
Mother’s Day brunch and one of our first outings after COVID. Madeline was a wonderful server (quickly got paper menus versus using the QR code when she saw struggling), attentive to needs and checking on us. Highly recommend.
The service was amazing. The gentleman that waited on us was so kind. We were outside for brunch. I had the st. Germaine cocktail and my cousins had the tequila Bloody Mary. Both were fabulous. The potato poutine and biscuits are to die for. Cannot rave about this place enough.
This was our first experience eating out in a restaurant since the pandemic started. The food was delicious. The service was a bit slow but we were ok
To people watch
Bonfire had amazing vibes! We had great drinks and great food! When I left I texted everyone I know in the Pittsburgh area to go try it! We will definitely be back.
brunch was fantastic and service was great. the chicken & waffles was great
Overall it was a fine experience. I wouldn’t rush to go back, but wouldn’t be opposed either. Service to order and get our food was pretty slow. Once our food arrived there was a long hair cooked into my eggs and the rest of our food was room temperature at best. My food was replaced but not compensated in any way. Not expected - but would’ve been nice considering the extended wait for another order to be prepared. A two star is a pretty accurate representation.
When going - the downstairs has a much better ambiance than the upstairs. But if you want more privacy then upstairs would be better for you.
Great food, drinks, service and atmosphere. Enjoyed and will return.
Excellent food. Wonderful service
Great spot for Pittsburgh.
Great food & drink! Menu has something for everyone. Service was on point.
Good to be back.
The French toast was phenomenal. Service was quick for a Sunday brunch in the city, and it was a in great location on the Southside!
excellent waitress, excellent service and food, great ambiance, great drinks! Will come back
They were busy and seemed to be able to keep up from the kitchen side, but service was a bit slow. The food was good, but the long wait for drinks - and the high price - made me feel like I had better options for Saturday date night. Still - good drinks, and amazing environment. I'd recommend it but during busy times they seem to have a hard time keeping up.
We enjoyed every bit(and bite) of our experience at Bonfire and will definitely return.
Great food and service! We knew that when we chose to sit outside that East Carson would be busy, so it was expected but we enjoyed the service and food. Delicious Moscow mule!
Great Food and Service. I will definitely be returning.
I went here for brunch on Easter Sunday and it was surprisingly not very busy. My friends and I were seated upstairs in the back and had problems immediately as our waitress only checked on us once every 15-20 minutes. It toon then 15 minutes to ask us what we want to drink and then another 20 minutes to bring us said drinks even though all we got were basic mimosas and a lemonade. They did not ask us what we wanted to eat until they brought out those very late drinks 35-40 minutes after we sat down. We ordered biscuits for the table to come out first and when they came out (20 minutes later) they were very undercooked and doughy and one was burnt on the outside despite being raw.
Our food then came out 20 minutes after that (over an hour after we sat down now) and it was cold and cooked to the wrong temperature. I ordered steak and eggs at medium-well and my steak was definitely medium-rare at best. My eggs were watery and poorly cooked. Two people ordered the crab cake Benedicts and their food was downright cold. Everyone’s food was lukewarm at best. It was not a busy day and there were only four people at the table so there is simply no excuse. When we complained to our waitress and the manager nothing was offered except a replacement of the eggs that we had already waited so long for. The only reason I gave two stars and not one is because the food would’ve been good if cooked appropriately. Would not recommend.
Quite mediocre...the brunch food was of the quality one would expect at a roadside diner, nothing special and leaning on the poor side. Orange juice was from a bottle and contained copious amounts of ice, obviously to less the amount of non-fresh OJ they would have to pour. Service was alright. Won't be returning for any meal.
I reserved a table for my mom and I for a nice Easter brunch - beware they don’t take COVID seriously at all!! We were placed directly next to a party of 6 as if COVID didn’t exist or something. The portion sizing was also a little small. I paid $19 for a piece of avocado toast with five pieces of shrimp and half a cup of undercooked quinoa. I was surprised because most of the reviews seem positive but our experience was below average at best. Pretty disappointed...
Absolutely loved this place, but even though I did have a reservation I had to wait about 20 minutes because they seated people that didn’t have a reservation before me so there weren’t any tables when I had reserved which isn’t right. But the food was great, the place was very quaint and charming and great ambiance.
Food was very good but not hot when we were served. I know they are just getting back to serving more people so we will be back to this restaurant again. WE all need to be a little forgiving as people are new to working in certain restaurants and they aren't used to serving lots of people on a Saturday night.
Staff went above and beyond. I dropped my phone behind a booth which required a manager to remove an air vent to retrieve. This was done with a smile and extremely courteous staff. Excellent dining experience.
We had a great evening out with just my wife and I. The food was excellent, bar quality was off the charts and it was an overall 5-star night. We appreciated the casual atmosphere as it was an impromptu date night.
My wife had the Salmon and was still raving about it on the way home, saying it was the “best she’s ever had!” I enjoyed a unique combination of their seasonal flatbread which happened to be a Hawaiian-take on a calzone. Everything was delicious and we had no complaints all the way through to our server who provided detailed recommendations as it was our first time here but won’t be our last! On a bar note, I highly recommend the “suffering b*stard.”
Food was really good. Had the classic bloody Mary’s, croque madame flatbread, breakfast burger and chicken Rancheros. Service was slightly slow. We sat for about 10-15 minutes before they took our drink order. We understand that they may be under staffed because of covid and we were in no hurry. Would definitely go back!
The food and drinks were great. Ambiance was hip and new. We loved the pork belly wraps. Server did not really seem energetic or wanting to communicate beyond a normal server banter. The host called us liars when we walked in because I must have accidentally clicked it was my birthday but it wasn't (thats my bad). We were so taken back by that we almost walked out. I'm glad we didn't because the we really wanted to try the food.
Thank you for your review! We are very interested in learning more about your experience as we always happily celebrate birthday's with a candle on all desserts that are ordered. If you would please email the us (info@bonfire-pgh) we want to be sure our employees are properly trained.
Went down for brunch, thought for first time but remembered once there that we had prior. Everyone was very nice, and welcoming... from greeter, other servers, our server and bartender on way in and out. Food was really good! We got the AF breakfast and French toast. It was clean and inviting.
Sat down at 7:35. Did not get a drink until 8:05. Did not receive appetizers until 8:40. Heat lamps went out so it was freezing outside. Got the manage and while he gave us a free round of drinks, overall, our experience was not good. I have sympathy because of the pandemic but our server basically avoided us and did nothing to make us feel better about being there for over 2 hours. In addition, my husband’s steak was freezing cold and my friend’s chicken sandwich was a meager portion that was just doused in cold Frank’s Red Hot. This was not a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, nor was it a great experience. Probably won’t ever go back and this was a place we’ve previously enjoyed.
It was absolutely wonderful. Everything was delicious and all the staff were so kind and attentive. It was honestly quiet for a Saturday morning compared to other spots and I loved that.
This is a awesome hidden little jewel on the southside. Me and my husband wanted to try something new and it was on point. The food was so good! (That roasted chicken! And that Nashville chicken sandwich!) I believe our waitress name was Erin and she was so sweet! Food came out one time! We will definitely return for the brunch!
The food was good and we had a nice time but not as special as it has the potential to be. The service was good but not great. We loved the menu, but the portions were not what they could be for the price. The hospitality was a little flatter than it should be in this price point. Service was slow and they didn’t offer bread or anything while we we’re waiting for our appetizers which took a long time to get. I was excited to try it and it was good, but it didn’t live up to it’s potential.
Very nice ambiance for outdoor dining. The fire pit is a nice touch. Noise level not bad for outdoor dining on Carson. Good was very good, drink menu great. Service was very nice.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Will be back
Great food and atmosphere
Trendy and fun place to meet friends. Always love going there and food is eclectic and enjoyable.
Service and food were excellent! We sat outside and loved being there, and we expected it to be noisy because you are on east Carson. I will definitely come back! Once again, excellent service. Enjoyed the veggie burger and the Moscow mule!!
Had an excellent meal and great service, enjoy the ambiance and view from second floor. Recommend this place for drinks and appetizers. Service excellent.
We were looking for a great lunch spot and instead found an ok brunch spot. The atmosphere was good and the menu just satisfactory, but the food itself missed the mark on both meals. We has the chicken and waffles and the bonfire burger, both were just ok. We were disappointed they weren't serving from their regular menu. This is the only reason we might go back. Hopefully the dinner food will be an improvement.
